I would continue using ActiveNet over EMS only because it connects and talks back to Banner, which EMS currently lacks. Otherwise I am not sure I would choose it over anything else as the functionality isn't quite the same as the competition.
ACTIVE Network allowed: grouping of classes, good interface, allowed importing of records, complex payment plans, per class fee structures, user fees, and trial classes.
We didn't evaluate other software, this came highly recommended to us by our sister school and we opted to utilize that same program, ultimately it was a smart choice because leadership ended up combining student attendance and this made it easier to keep track on students from …
Good for online registration of community programs; the sort of class which is once a week. Poor for tracking classes where there might be assignments or homework.
We found that this works great when allowed to integrate with our LMS and our chat platform because it automates the login process, each time a student logs into the chat it automatically tells us and generates a report that goes to the provost. It would be nice to have the system synchronize with other software we use. (EMS, StarRez, etc.) When planning conferences, we currently have hotel guests and registration that we would like to share information for through each system. Currently it is just double data entry.
Would like to be able to add more resources and details to a room booking and have the corresponding departments be notified of the order/track inventory.

This has been a great choice for us.
