we did our searching years ago, nothing to match it too.
Chose Adobe Bridge
Adobe Bridge is a useful tool within the CC environment but doesn't have much standalone value that I use it for outside of organization of assets and the preliminary asset selection process.
Chose Adobe Bridge
Dash is purely a DAM system which can't do nearly as much as Bridge.
Chose Adobe Bridge
Bridge is just easier and quicker. It suits our purposes more.
Chose Adobe Bridge
I mean, it's the same company so it's really interchangeable. It's like an assistance tool.

Okay so I've actually tried to use Lightroom. Photoshop is its own beast and doesn't have the catalog that Bridge of Lightroom has. Lightroom is not as powerful with being able to check between images, finding files, etc. I wanted to love it, but Bridge won hands down with all …

Chose MediaValet
Sharepoint is more useful from a data standpoint. MediaValet is much easier to navigate, organize and view/share content quickly.
Chose MediaValet
Asset sharing and organization is better, more user friendly, and more appealing within MediaValet. The layout and flexibility give these portals a much more professional look and feel. Both internally and externally we have appreciated the output of these specific portals much …
Chose MediaValet
I have not used any other product like MediaValet.
Chose MediaValet
They really are very different platforms. MediaValet offers much more control over who has access to files and how they are downloaded, as well as offering conversions of some files such as JPEG to PNG or TIFF. Also, through user profiles, you can grant access to a specific …
Chose MediaValet
I was not part of the original selection for MediaValet, but I am very thankful to be using it now.
Chose MediaValet
1. Business file systems - this ends up being based on the logic of whomever first set it up, and is typically not very flexible, and terrible search capabilities.
2. Teams - a little better than above due to some control of access, but still painful searching process.
3. Custom …
Chose MediaValet
I think MediaValet far exceeds the ability of Dropbox Business in many instances - - It offers a better search engine. You can find more easily searchable files without having to actually re-name individual files. It offers multi-segmentation. Files can sit across several …
Chose MediaValet
I've had extensive experience using the proprietary DAM system built for General Motors to manage their image and creative assets. While a number of years have passed, MediaValet offers all of the features and more as technology has rapidly evolved with additional capabilities …
Chose MediaValet
I have used asset management systems based in on-premise storage such as Drobos or other raid systems and web-based DAMs, such as Canto which are more comparable to how MediaValet works on a cloud-based system. Nothing beats MediaValet in reliability, ease of use, and customer …
Chose MediaValet
I'd used one with another company called MediaBank which had been very difficult to use—to the point where I was wary of using a D.A.M. Have been pleasantly surprised with MediaValet after that first exposure to D.A.M. systems.
Chose MediaValet
MediaValet has a much better search tool. The site map is visible immediately. Videos play and upload much more smoothly on MediaValet.
Chose MediaValet
More cost efficient and better searching capabilities.

I love to use it when I need to rename a group of photos from one of my photographers because they named the files incorrectly. My team seems happy to use it from now and then in combination with InDesign and Photoshop

MediaValet is an exceptional tool for our end users. We upload the images and they find them. Most often with great ease. Had we known how many images we would be adding, and our different audiences from the start, we might have set up our file structure a little differently.

Cons
  • It took me a while to figure out how to get Bridge to work faster. Apparently, you need it to cache your entire library and once that library is cached then it can refer to those files quickly.
  • It takes up more space on your computer and you should consider buying a computer with plenty of space and a great graphics card to help this program work at its best.
  • I wish it would recognize that firewall software and virus protection software isn't its enemy and work with them running all the time. This error doesn't always occur for me, but when it does, I am annoyed.

  • More flexibility/features when using Lightboxes
  • Replace an old version of an asset with a newer one without having to check-out, then check-in
  • Sharing an asset or a set of assets via a share link -- would be great to generate shorter, dynamic URLs for sharing as opposed to the longer string URLs it currently generates

The product is the best we've seen. Others on staff who use our partner's DAMs have commented that our Media Valet DAM is far and away the best they've seen. I can't say enough about Media Valet's customer service. It has been consistently helpful, quick to respond and very reliable.

Usability
Adobe Bridge is useful as a jumping off point for file organization within the CC environment. It is a little slow and clunky at times but is useful for preliminary photography selection development including contact sheets, file renaming, and the overall selection process.

I mainly use MediValet to send special medical images to our partners. Collaboration with other companies is very simplified through MediaValet. The qualitatively uploaded images can be excactly assigned and organised through various filters. It is much clearer and easier for our partners to understand when the images have been accurately labelled and assigned beforehand.

Okay so I've actually tried to use Lightroom. Photoshop is its own beast and doesn't have the catalog that Bridge of Lightroom has. Lightroom is not as powerful with being able to check between images, finding files, etc. I wanted to love it, but Bridge won hands down with all the time it has saved me so I can get back to my children instead of complaining that it takes me so much time to narrow down images

They really are very different platforms. MediaValet offers much more control over who has access to files and how they are downloaded, as well as offering conversions of some files such as JPEG to PNG or TIFF. Also, through user profiles, you can grant access to a specific path to some users and not others, so it has a lot of customization. The other platforms are just for storage and sharing but there is no user control.

Return on Investment
  • Convenience and ease in seeing all images at a glance and being able to select chosen images for use in Photoshop and XD
  • Saved us time through the batch rename functionality

  • Easier to send specific files to other people
  • Can combine different assets in an aesthetically pleasing website like platform with Portals to present
  • Gives peace of mind knowing that our files could be deleted from our system, but MediaValet has the backup
