I have not tried alternatives to Ambition but could not see what additional changes or iterations another company could deploy that Ambition is not currently doing.
Ambition is applicable to pretty much any sales organization. I believe it is well suited for younger generations like myself that enjoy the data as well as the competition. Any large sales team can benefit from this tool to maintain accountability and productivity. A less applicable use would be for a door-to-door or outside sales organization. This may not be as useful as it is primarily used to track daily dials, talk time, etc

Music that plays when one meets their KPI goals such as exceeding 100 points for the day or winning new business or converting a lead into an opportunity
I have evaluated a few products similar to Ambition, at a high level. I have not used others. I implement Ambition at our office for one team, but I wasn't the only decision maker.
