Considered Both Products
Archibus
Chose Archibus
Better management integration from users and administrators. Archibus is still much better for multiple building management. It’s ability to overlay and activate specific spaces on a floor plan makes it very easy to visualize.
Chose Archibus
Archibus compares well with other IWMS software when it comes to integrating with BIM models and reporting capabilities. I selected Archibus as it has all the tools and processes needed to manage space and moves, with the intention to expand to other modules like Lease …
HxGN EAM
Chose HxGN EAM
HxGN EAM is relatively comparable. Much of the software solutions for large enterprise businesses offer relatively comparable features and functionality. For example, integration with our organization's asset management strategy. The set-up of the asset management is …
Chose HxGN EAM
The ease of configuration, scalability, and built-in functionality were the main reasons for us to go with EAM.
Chose HxGN EAM
Infor EAM is much better than the alternates that I've used in the past. We selected Infor EAM for their customization features and their phenomenal support team.

It’s best suited for Large multi-building configurations (campus) with self-service funtions. There are better options for single buildings. This tool really shines when you are managing multiple buildings that are accessed by the same users.

HxGN EAM is probably better suited for larger enterprise solutions where there is a need for enterprise asset management. At our organization, we had a long asset list but also at multiple sites and building locations. With many sites, we found it difficult to sometimes track the assets. The HxGN EAM product allowed for a consolidated view as well as good on-time reporting that can also be customized for different parts of the organization or user groups. This solution generally integrated well with our organization; this should be assessed for your organization.

  • Easy to customize for specific needs of our clients.
  • Allows system administrators to develop custom reports with Cognos and make these reports accessible to all users, or specific user groups.
  • Easy to apply custom business rules using Flex SQL.
  • User friendly even to a beginner. I always say if a user can navigate an MS Office product, they can navigate Infor EAM.

Cons
  • More user friendly booking system
  • Web navigation can be more streamlined
  • Ease of use from non-technical users can be improved

  • Infor Enterprise Asset Management doesn't step the user through the process easily. The user must already know the process and how to step through it. But I still don't see this as a very big issue.
  • Would like a separate mobile program to handle the parts side of the equation (receiving, put-up, counting, etc.).
  • The mobile program could do a better job of handling fleet assets. Currently, a lot of configuration and customization is used to get the mobile program to work appropriately in a fleet environment.

Usability
User perspective it is simple through a web portal that shows all spaces and buildings. But as an administrator it was quite a bit of work to set up. And by extension updating is also a lot of work

EAM is overall simple to use, especially since the UI and individual forms can be configured per user group with simple clicks by a system administrator.

The user support is better than average when comparing it to other software vendors we use. Normally they reply very quickly, but there is also a tendency to even reply too fast without fully analyzing or understanding the whole underlying problem. However, when we ask support to escalate something to the development team, this is done quickly as well.

Archibus compares well with other IWMS software when it comes to integrating with BIM models and reporting capabilities. I selected Archibus as it has all the tools and processes needed to manage space and moves, with the intention to expand to other modules like Lease Administration and Asset Management. The constant upgrades to Archibus also helps to keep the software up-to-date with other third party products such as Revit.
