We use Veeam Backup and Replication at our larger sites where Vmware Virtualization is being used and is our product of choice in this venue. When it comes to our smaller sites, nothing is more affordable and reliable than Arcserve Backup.

To be succinct, we have used Veeam B&R for a number of years, against our VM environment, and we have yet to find anything that tops it. However, if you have physical machines in your environment still, then Arcserve is a great option, especially for the replication aspect.

It is easy to deploy and manage. Solid data recovery and good notification option. We need to backup to tape to retain 7 years thus D2D2T is a good option to have.

We also use Veeam replication and backups for VMWare level data redundancy. It works so far as stable as Arcserve Backup. We use both in our systems as we deploy VMs since Veeam works closely with VCenter. But if we need to backup physical servers, and OS partition level …

Veeam is the easiest to manage of these products. They were the first to provide server replication in the VM environment.

Veeam Data Platform was best value, except in the case of MSP360 where it was just a superior product.

I've used Unitrends most recently. I really love Unitrends and tried to switch this last time I renewed support for Veeam Data Platform; however, it was not cost effective. Unfriends would have cost 4 times as much as Veeam Data Platform. As for the others, the features of …

Way easier to set up than most Backup Solutions out there including the replication portion for VM servers.

We used Zerto and CA Arcserve to address these needs without migrating to Veeam Backup & Replication. Zerto is a very successful instant backup and we are still using it now. It does what Veeam application cannot do in instant replication. CA Arcserve, on the other hand, is …

Compared to ArcServer which I've used over 5+ years ago for tape backups. Veeam is a much simpler solution to interface with, setup and execute your backups. The only major drawback is having to buy different licenses for different platforms - Hyper-V, VMWare or physical …

Tivoli Storage Manager performs OK for file-level backups but, try to do a bare-metal restore, and you are sure to run into some issues with it. The GUI console is excellent for a Windows guy, but to achieve its full potential, you need to be a command-line guru

It's far lower maintenance, installation is much simpler, updates are also much less disruptive. I've found that the maintenance involved in running Veeam is far lower than it was with either of the other products we had in previously, and error messages within the software are …

We use Arcserver for our physical server or drive partition backup. But it's not stable. Once in a while, it has alarms stating the data tranasferring to its destination has problem. We spent much time on this, but it still happens. Furthermore, the switch between the primary …
