I started using Blogger instead of TypePad because Blogger was free and like so many other early web products. TypePad could not keep up with changes in how things were evolving and was not worth the money you paid for it. If you need a blog that has any level of real …

I've selected Blogger due to its simple user interface and open source feature. I can make my pages within a few minutes and add them to my website quickly, unlike other software, Iike Wix or WordPress, which is more advanced and requires pre-learning to make efficient use of …

I've used both extensively and like both of them. Each has its strengths and weaknesses and some of the difference is through the use of HTML vs CSS. Both function well for this purpose and both allow for customization of elements, including sidebars and widgets. One major …

Blogger has its niche market because it’s a free, easy-to-use blog platform that’s been around for a long time and owned by Google.

WordPress is a more sophisticated version of Blogger. It utilizes coding and more in-depth features. If you have the skills or the time to learn the skills, WordPress is a great host. But Blogger is great for information distribution and a great introduction to blogging in …

We went with Blogger because you get the backing and up to date technology of Google since they own Blogger. We also chose Blogger because it is completely free and as a small non-profit that is very important to us. Lastly, it is easier to use than any of the other blog …
Chose Blogger
Blogger doesn't compare to WordPress. In my opinion, and as I've stated in previous answers, it is limited with integration, functionality, and other capabilities. It's no longer a standout in the marketplace. It was a great tool for beginners in the sphere 10 years ago, but …
Chose Blogger
We started out using a WordPress plugin for doing blogging and found that we had to test out numerous ones due to them just plan not working or they were built very poorly that it hurt the performance of the site. The plugins we tested didn't have the ability to allow us to …

Tumblr is very simple and seems to have more community adoption when compared to Blogger. Blogger gives you a little more control over the site when compared to Tumblr, though.
WordPress outperforms Blogger on nearly all fronts. Blogger is free, however. So, if cost savings is …
Chose Blogger
Blogger is free, integrates with a Google profile and is easy to manage and update. If you dont want to get too concerned with backend code, it is a great tool. Perhaps not a trendy as Wix, Medium, or WordPress, as it has not been given new templates in a long time. It is not …

It's been a long time, so my perceptions may be obsolete, but I didn't find Wordpress easy to use.

I don't bother looking for BlogSpot's competition if I'm happy where I'm at why look elsewhere? I've built other webpages using other websites quite a while ago and I've found BlogSpot, Blogger to be the best so far.

Quora and Medium are both a great, free avenue to produce content and engage with your audience. Quora is more born from a Q&A site which attracts an audience that is searching for answers. The medium tends to attract people looking to add to the conversation. Overall, I think …

I have used Stack Overflow for my technical questions but for general knowledge about anything, Quora is great.

Chose Quora Blogs
Blogging in Quora is more easy and easily getting answers of your queries for the topics one needed. Less fake users.
Chose Quora Blogs
More fake users are there on Facebook, Twitter etc., than on Quora. Quora Blog is used for topics related to my domain.
Chose Quora Blogs
In comparison to Blogger, Quora Blogs has its perks. However, I think for any serious blogging I would find myself going elsewhere just for the added features that seem to be missing from Quora such as widgets and advanced customization.

It's well suited for a beginner who is starting a blog and doesn't have much budget, and just wants to try it out. Blogger is the best platform to use. It's very easy, and I used it for a few years too and made many blogs using it.

Quora Blogs are great for businesses that are looking for new audiences and new subjects to talk about. It's especially great for users of Quora Answers as they can integrate those with their blogs to help generate far more content than most. Plus, the social settings help get you seen, liked and subscribed.

Pros
  • Cost - Because Blogger is free we are able to utilize it to its fullest capacity all while paying nothing!
  • User friendly - As I previously stated, we are able to post and reach vast amounts of people in a short amount of time because the interface is so easy and user friendly!
  • This goes along with user-friendly, but it is amazing how you do not need any coding experience to have a professional looking page.

  • I like a lot of interesting topics, I have signed many of them.
  • I also like that I can help people. I often go to the questions tab and answer them.
  • Quora can help you find answers to any questions.
  • I share my experience.

Cons
  • When comments are as the author of the post when you post a comment back it should be more threaded and either a symbol or icon should designate the poster. It is hard to determine who the poster is compared to who left a post.
  • As a company that uses the blog for our agents, it would be nice if they would allow custom ads to be run.
  • It would be nice if they would add a chat feauture within the blog so that if a poster would like to chat with us they would be able to.

  • No widgets
  • Very little in the way of customization
  • Blogging seems to be a secondary feature to the Q&A features of the site.

I love the additional income and how great my blogs have turned out. It's given me ideas for others to build their blogs and has attained new clients for me. I make money using AdSense, how little or how much I want to make is up to me promoting my Blog.

I can say that I have not had to use customer service and support for Blogger in over 2 years. It is truly easy to use a product that does not leave you with a lot of questions. The last customer service experience I had with them was very pleasant.

Quora has an amazing community that gives you the support you need if you are actively contributing in a helpful way. Content is short and concise and gets right to the matter at hand. My team has found it useful in showing up as an expert in our industry by answering the questions that are being asked out there.

Implementation Rating
Have a plan written out for yourself, you can always make changes as you go. It's more difficult to build a Blog if one doesn't even know what the Blog is going to be about. It's best to plan what your Blog is going to be about and what your audience is going to be and what you want to accomplish before you start building.

Quora Blogs scores high on Social Media Interaction. Although I would rate Medium.com lowest in social interaction. But, high on full proof content. Quora Blogs is a lot more expressive, gives you freedom in any case. Medium doesn't have that liberty because content should be more Academic on Medium whereas LinkedIn never had that transparency due to maintenance of a professional aura.

Return on Investment
  • Blogger is free so there is no money invested, but the time invested has proven to also be positive.
  • Blogger has increased our reach for young adults and given us the opportunity to display more pictures and longer paragraphs that other social media sites. The interest we have accumulated since using blogger has been worth the time and effort we put into using it.
  • We have seen that our Blog posts have also attracted parent involvement as well as they are excited to see what ways they can help. It has given us another way to express a need in volunteers.
