	Carbonite Endpoint
Considered Both Products	Carbonite, an OpenText company Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite is way more basic but is easy to use. It is for backing up files where at Veeam is for a who system backup which you can restore to a different platform. If our use case we only needed to backup end users files and Carbonite cost much less which was what we needed … Incentivized Helpful? Derek Schroeder Service Manager in Information Technology at Kloud9 (Information Technology and Services, 11-50 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite Endpoint 360 definitely has a solid footing in the market. Barracuda Essentials is a more comprehensive solution offering many additional features and complementing services including archiving and email Antispam and encryption. Proofpoint is very similar to both … Incentivized Helpful? John Watson Director Non-Clinical Development in Research & Development at Auregen BioTherapeutics (Biotechnology, 11-50 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint As far as I am aware other systems were evaluated but I wasn't involved in that. Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint We chose Carbonite after reading the reviews and hearing from other users on how excellent it was and how helpful the customer service is. Incentivized Helpful? Todd Frazier Systems Administrator in Information Technology at County of Culpeper (Computer Networking, 201-500 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint To be honest, Unitrends is the best solution that we found, tested and procured and are very happy with it. But if you don't have 40K to spend on a backup solution then Carbonite is the way to go especially if you spring the additional $1200 and procure their appliance that you … Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint We're presently looking to expand our endpoint protection. Carbonite Endpoint is the data integrity aspect of this. We've also used Symantec Endpoint Protection, but that focuses primarily on virus and threat mitigation at the endpoints—not dating integrity. So while both … Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint Stacks very well against competitors and excels in what it does. Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite is fast and easy to configure compared to other platforms. It's a small footprint and runs unnoticed in the background without usurping resources on the local machine. Backup Exec is a massive application and requires far more setup and configuration. Acronis, while … Incentivized Helpful? Namrata D Proprietor at GNV Enterprises (Retail, 51-200 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint The two main alternatives we have also used are Google Dive and Microsoft 365. While both of them can be used for backing up your office documents (spreadsheets and docs), they aren't very good at backing up other stuff. Also, you cannot automate complete system backups with … Incentivized Helpful? Troy Alcorn Owner /Operator in Corporate at Alcorn Enterprises, LLC DBA Buckeye Computer Services (Information Technology and Services, 1-10 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint Mozy has now been purchased by Carbonite, but the cost structure was much higher than Carbonite. Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint We have also used Mozy Pro and Dropbox. They are all pretty similar in functionality/features of backing up data (not system state or databases as I don't think any of the 3 are well suited for that). To me, it comes down to personal preference and choosing a product that is … Incentivized Helpful? Nathan Venno IT Manager in Information Technology at VistaFood Exchange Inc (Wholesale, 51-200 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint I think this solution is decent, and works well enough for most businesses. I find their lack of alerts to be very troublesome - finding out you can't restore a file because the back did not run for two days is not a conversation I ever need to have again with the owner of the … Incentivized Helpful? Rob Rotundo Service Manager in Information Technology at Professional Computer Associates (Information Technology and Services, 11-50 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint Selected Carbonite because it's cheaper and offers unlimited storage. You do have to pay more if you want to be able to backup external drives, but still worth it. They can't be beat when it comes to price for offsite storage. The support is really good as well. It's nice … Incentivized Helpful? Mahmoud Dahy eLearning Development Manager in Information Technology at 7 Mindsets (Education Management, 11-50 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite focuses on backup. It has one objective and it does it well. Other applications do so many things. Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint Overall, Carbonite is a better product, with a more intuitive interface and easier to use. The price was comparable, but I tried Carbonite again, and was able to install it correctly on my next computer. Incentivized Helpful? Nathanial Holt Co Owner in Corporate at Self-employed (Media Production, 1-10 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint I trust carbonite over the others as far as system backup. Incentivized Helpful? Robb Glietz Technology Advisor in Information Technology at RE/MAX Advantage Redlands (Real Estate, 51-200 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint My mind pretty much was made up to use Carbonite since I had been using the personal computer backup version. But I did look Acronis due to a business associate stating it may meet my needs, after talking with a sales person it was found it had a large learning curve. Incentivized Helpful? Sean Ursulo Technical Support Representative in Information Technology at TP-LINK North America (Consumer Electronics, 10,001+ employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite was a no brainer. We never really considered anyone else because Carbonite is reputable and I pushed hard for this software after using it with different clients in previous positions. I have not used competitor products as of yet but I have not found a reason to … Incentivized Helpful? Verified User Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite was easier to use but less robust. Incentivized Helpful? Tina Cline IT Support Specialist in Information Technology at 270net Technologies (Information Technology and Services, 11-50 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint Carbonite works well and is affordable for personal and small business customers Incentivized Helpful? Anthony Shane IT Consultant in Information Technology at Simplified IT Solutions (Information Technology and Services, 1-10 employees) Chose Carbonite Endpoint I use a mix of online backup solutions depending on the client's needs. If a client that I don't manage monthly needs monthly backups, I typically suggest Carbonite for its ease of use. Incentivized Helpful?
