DigitalOcean: harder to set up, hands-on maintenance and controll, but needs work-hours of a linux expert.

Godaddy: absolutely worst of all providers, charges stupid people money for nothing-services. Horrible products in my opinion.

Cloudways has been a great fit for our organization and has allowed us to host as many sites as we need and scale those websites. We have a paid service plan and their team of support agents is the best that I have ever worked with. They have helped us through numerous scenarios over the years and are always there 24/7/365. If you need a trusted email hosting platform, Rackspace is definitely the way to go. Not only is it simple to use, but the help they're willing to provide is also outstanding. Whether you're upgrading (or even downgrading) a service, or have concerns over any use cases, they're great at providing assistance and being diligent to understand your needs. If you only require a simple email for only a few people, it may not be the way to go, but it's hard to beat the price they offer (and the clarity on that pricing as well).

  • No real big issues with Rackspace itself. Some issues can occur with mail clients, but Rackspace support is helpful to sort them out.

Usability
They are constantly improving their dashboards and interface to make it easier to use and find the things that we use the most. It's a lot of features to pack in to one UI and they have done a great job of making it user friendly. Their layout is intuitive and easy to learn and is extremely granular. We are able to control every aspect of our websites and applications from an individual level from scaling, to cache, to DNS, security, WAF, and everything in between.

Support Rating
Technical support is just 2-3 clicks away and the Cloudways homepage and the operators are available almost 24/7. They also are able to answer any kind of question related to their services, whether economical or technical. I sometimes made mistakes while using their services and they have been keen to help me, and fixed my problems really fast.

Honestly, if it wasn't for the way in which ticket updates are shared, it would be a ten. They provide excellent support, from sales to technical to even migration services. I've always gotten my questions answered clearly, by someone who is human. If answers were displayed via email as well, rather than just a notice that I needed to login to see a message, it would be even better.

  • It simplified our systems, it's Cloudways + mainwp for maintenance and hosting now.
  • It allowed us to save on server maintenance work costs.
  • The email is easy to spin up around it if someone doesn't want google workspace.
