We tried Surfer SEO before Conductor. It just felt like it didn't have enough to offer in comparison to Conductor. There was a shortage on everything that you could do in the platform and it felt like the lack of in-depth tools caused us to miss out on making sure our content …
Our entire team tested the above and some others I can't recall at this time. They all had their pros and cons. We preferred to go with Conductor because of its ease of use, ease of deployment, and lowered costs.
I have used many SEO campaign platforms like Conductor. Conductor UX leads to a good SEO workflow for me. I don't really even understand why. I have used SEMRush a lot, AHrefs an awful lot, and BrightEdge a little, and I love doing SEO analysis in Conductor and spend way more …
We didn't use another product previously, we used an agency that did everything for us, so bringing Organic SEO in-house was why we went with Conductor. I have used other products in other roles and at other companies and each has its strengths. Conductor is good for large …
We have looked at a few other competitors or other SAAS options but none of them offered the number and quality of tools and resources that Conductor offered especially for the flexible pricing we found with Conductor.
We moved to Conductor because the functionality matched what we were looking for. Price was not as much of a factor, thankfully, because Conductor is expensive.
We switched to Conductor from Brightedge because the team at Brightedge didn't seem very helpful during our weekly calls, and the platform was tough to use. The features were not laid out in a very logical or user-friendly fashion, and it was often difficult to accomplish even …
SEMRush was targeted for the small/medium business and fell short with the number of accounts and projects we needed to run. I feel it also has a cumbersome pricing structure. Botify, albeit an amazing technical auditing tool wasn't the right software for what we need right …
We used Moz to introduce SEO to the organization. Once we had executive buy-in, the natural next step was to move to an advanced enterprise platform. Conductor offers an easier interface and more options in terms of competitor analysis, reporting, support, research, content …
We switched from BrightEdge mainly due to my recommendation based on my past experience with Conductor. The main reason was the advancements in technology that Conductor had demonstrated during our initial conversations. We were certain that the tool simply had more to offer …
We were using another company. Do not feel comfortable giving the name but our Conductor Searchlight teams know who it is. We were just left to figure everything out on our own. With Conductor Searchlight, they are always helping.
We dealt with an agency that made custom recommendations. Conductor is easier to use, and the recommendations are easier to put into practice. Also, I don't have to wait until the weekly meeting to get answers and insights.
We switched to Conductor for several reasons: Explorer is a feature that other tools do not have. It is very helpful to be able to see how your website is working as a whole vs. just the keywords you are tracking. Content research was something that was missing from our …
I have been in SEO for over a decade, and in that time, I have used just about every tool on the market. Conductor is the tool we get the most useful insights from in the easiest way. The support and help we get from the Conductor team are one of the main reasons we ignore the …
We liked that Conductor offered many different tools in one easier-to-use platform. The price point was right for us. I had experience with other tools but had never used Conductor, and I liked what I saw in the demos we were given. It hasn't disappointed me yet!
Clutch is far more successful. In the same time period, I’ve received 8 times as many clicks on clutch at significantly less per month. I deeply regret ever signing up.
We selected UpCity primarily because of the ongoing services they provide. The UpCity software is a simple platform that enables us to easily show progress and ROI to our clients.
I actually like Ahrefs reporting much better for SEO. It doesn't have checklist system, though. Asana has a checklist system that is much easier to manage and integrates well with our other tools like Slack so we have moved to that for task tracking. The biggest strength UpCity …
Conductor has proven to be an effective tool for tracking our organic search visibility, researching trends and content topics, and beginning our optimization journey in the new AI-driven world of search. The platform is exceptional for collaboration and is easy to use. Having deeper integration of search-related AI data and tools, organic shopping, schema tracking, and suggestions would further improve an already excellent product offering.
UpCity is well suited for agencies or freelancers that want a defined process to help market for clients or small companies wanting to be found online. It's especially helpful for someone not that knowledgeable on SEO. As long as they follow the checklist, their site has a great chance at increased traffic. I find it's not as useful for companies and agencies that already has a process in place and a set criteria for marketing. If you've been in the business for a while and already know what you're doing, the checklist may not be as valuable.
Keyword research (includes related terms, types of terms, high ranking pages, search volume, and more)
Content guidance and briefs (you can use built in tools to get specific optimization steps and create content briefs within the tool)
Competitor research (compare how competition is ranking and track organic market share)
Support (dedicated team support, regular check-ins, built-in requests for deliverables/support items, options for requesting work with partner organizations, excellent training materials, and live chat within the platform)
I would like to see a feature to manage the backlink disavow list through search console. If Conductor is able to add this, we may be able to drop one of our other tools and save some money in that area.
Conductor has a lot of features and can be a bit overwhelming. It is a strength and a weakness, as it takes time to learn all that is available.
Another feature I would like to see is more integration with GA, we leverage creating annotations in GA and it would be great to have those pulled into the Conductor dashboard automatically.
Pricing seemed far to high for small agencies just starting.
I know UpCity has many more features than just a checklist, but I didn't find them as useful as the checklist and relied on other tools for citations and reporting.
Conductor enables high-value SEO activity. There are a lot of moving parts in SEO and I'm always open to products that fit our requirements, but Conductor has built a stronger argument for its value after we subscribed than it had when we subscribed -- that's rare.
I check features like the InsightStream every Monday to monitor any major losses or gains in performance. These are easily digested and save me tons of time searching for these insights manually. If there's anything "worth calling home about" I can easily add insights into a workspace and create a report to communicate these results. It's super easy to use Conductor with a team and across departments.
Usability is mediocre: They have a dashboard to track things but they have some antiquated system of ranking companies and don’t tell you what the logic is behind it. You also have no way to combat negative ratings or respond and try to correct them.
It's been sort of off and on in the 2 years I've used it. The live chat has been really helpful many times, and they're quick to respond. We had different support contacts but they've all been good. I think they've recently changed the way they provide support that I believe will be more dedicated and hands-on
I received little help from customer service rep, Sarah. She told me I should speak to a manager to “reset my expectations”. Apparently, all the sales promises of more traffic and increase SEO were an issue with my expectations, and not the company failing to deliver.
Our in house SEO manager trained everyone. It was easy to learn and he was well versed with the product. Any questions we had he was able to answer or reach out to support to find the answer
I definitely recommend their professional services for getting started. It got our account 90% of the way to where we needed to be in order to gain value from it. In fact, I'd suggest that with few exceptions (such as, you have a staff that is already familiar with the platform and doesn't need any help), the quick start services over the first 30-90 days should be a standard part of onboarding with any new client. It definitely got us to the point of gaining ROI from the solution and, in turn, will make it easier to justify renewal and continued investment in it.
We tried Surfer SEO before Conductor. It just felt like it didn't have enough to offer in comparison to Conductor. There was a shortage on everything that you could do in the platform and it felt like the lack of in-depth tools caused us to miss out on making sure our content that we're putting out is the best it could possibly be.

The Live Edit feature in Content King has given me the ability to make changes on the fly without having to wait for developer time to make simple edits.
I have been able to gain back hours of time that I previously spent on aggregating data across tools when preparing on-the-fly reports for management.
Every morning my dashboard provides me with a new insight or answers a question I may not have even thought to ask. This has added to my workload, but it's also helped to become better at my job.
