Chose Datameer
Based on our findings, we are unable to utilize the Apache Hive platform due to the associated costs. We also looked into Informatica, but decided against it because of its expensive pricing and poor integration with other BI products. Those unfamiliar with SQL may nevertheless …
Pricing, support, and ease of use. We plan to scale up our data over the net few years and Datameer gives us all the things we need in one tool. Handles large transformations quickly and works with all the cloud data warehouses.
Not sure how to compare Datameer with other products, it has a flavor of Excel and PowerPivot, it leverages D3.js and HTML5 for visualizations. The modeling capabilities are one of its strongest aspects. We've been looking at Tableau, Qlikview, Microstrategy, Cognos Insight, …
I have compared Datameer with the tools listed above and it blows them out of the water. Datameer is much more user friendly than these tools and is also a lot more powerful. Once the Q1 release comes out with drill down capabilities on the infographics, Datameer will surpass …
Administration of Hadoop cluster - Cloudera, Datameer
Chose Datameer
Datameer was not chosen to exclude other tools. Other tools are still used and gaining traction due to their suitability to a task and due to cost-effectiveness of license models. Every organization needs to determine the best approach to the data flow into and out of Hadoop, …

Chose Roambi (discontinued)
It is very powerful in graphical presentation, is user-friendly, and has good connectivity but it is platform dependent. SAP Mobile BI mobile doesn't have any editing option which Roambi has on the mobile.
We know the Mobile BI capabilities from Cognos, SAP BusinessObjects, Microstrategy, and Qlik. It can be used as a mobile access bracket to multiple BI content.
We have compared Roambi against Business Objects, Reporting Services (on tablet) and Cubeware Cockpit. All those solutions lack in support of touch capabilities and responsiveness. Roambi "feels" just right. There is no training required and users love to explore the …
I found that compared to software such as Qlikview and Tableau, learning to effectively use Roambi is much simpler as the other two have steep learning curves where Roambi does not. For the purposes I had defined for myself such as quick sharing and visualization of large …
Comparing the mobile capabilities of both products - as of course, Tibco Spotfire is a complete solution whereas Roambi focuses on mobility. While some would argue that the ten View (template) limitation of Roambi works in favor of competitors, we have found this to be untrue. …
I have also used Spotfire and QlikView. Of all three, Roambi is the easiest to use and quickest to deploy. Roambi is also one of the easiest to start turning your data into beautiful charts and dashboards. Spotfire is easy to use but requires more time to get used to - but …

At this moment, we don't have any other alternative, but we don't want to change it.
At the time of evaluation, there really was nothing out there that could do what Roambi could by providing dashboard-style reports on an iPad. With HTML5, I know there are now several options out there, but I have not had an opportunity, or need, to evaluate them.

Report Output and Scheduling
Comparison of Report Output and Scheduling features of Product A and Product B
Datameer's workbooks include an intuitive GUI for maximum usability. Anyone with an analytical mind may easily compile data using the built-in worksheet capability without requiring much technological knowledge. Ad hoc reports may now be made and scheduled. In addition, I haven't had too much problem fixing things because I can get most of the answers I want there.
I would recommend Roambi for its ease-of-use and quick deployment. It is very visually rich and eye-catching, and I believe it is best suited for presenting business & finance dashboard to C-level management and sales representatives in the field. Because it can be accessed on the iPhone or iPad, it is very mobile and the Apple touch interfaces are nearly flawless. If an organization needs to really dig deep into their data, I would look elsewhere, as Roambi has certain limitations.
It leverages scalability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness of hadoop to deliver an end-user focused analytic platform for big data without involvement of IT.
It overcomes Hadoop`s complexity by providing GUI interface with pre-built functions across integration, analytics and data visualization .
Excel feature is awesome for business users which is already provided by Datameer.
Using datameer now user can do smart analytic using Decision Trees, Column dependency and recommendation.
Recently HTML5 inclusion is making application to available on a wider range of devices, including the iPad and other mobile devices which does not support Flash.
It can be used in premise or in a cloud computing environment.
Wizard-based data integration designed for IT and business users to schedule and do transformation of large sets of structured, semi-structured and unstructured data without any knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem.
The system that performs the rendering of data to the front-end can be improved to intelligently read the back end data template or at least the layout. Inserting new rows/columns of data completely messes up the rendering on the front end and the process of re-selecting information to ensure proper rendering is a very tedious one.
Also, Roambi should have the capability to analyse information in formats other than excel such as word, ppts and/or pdfs. I found the lack of this capability a major hurdle because each time I had to export information into excel to render into a template.
Employees with intermediate SQL and Hive knowledge can generate reports faster than using Datameer . It does have visualization tool but I don't think it is anything that cannot be accomplished by importing the data in Excel
The only reason we would not renew is if there is something out there that is less expensive that is cross-platform for mobile devices. Our clients are no longer exclusively using iOS, so in order to keep their business, we need to change with them.
I have compared Datameer with the tools listed above and it blows them out of the water. Datameer is much more user friendly than these tools and is also a lot more powerful. Once the Q1 release comes out with drill down capabilities on the infographics, Datameer will surpass Tableau and Spotfire in visualization.
Comparing the mobile capabilities of both products - as of course, Tibco Spotfire is a complete solution whereas Roambi focuses on mobility. While some would argue that the ten View (template) limitation of Roambi works in favor of competitors, we have found this to be untrue. Users quickly get used to this native interfaces, which are found across the templates. Additionally, the ten available Views cover 99% of the types of reports or insights you'd ever need. If this is not the case, are you sure you are asking the right questions?
and any analytical tool needs more historical data for accurate analysis, in that case, roambi 's part is as a presenter can't influence the ROI exactly..
overall objective its a value addition for sap based data analytics and others as well.
for CIO or analytics people good tool to convince their business users and executives.
