Considered Both Products
Delinea Secret Server
Chose Delinea Secret Server
Thychotic Secret Server was heads and shoulders above the next consideration on our list.
Chose Delinea Secret Server
There were not very many solutions that provided the entire package of taking an account from creation and deactivating it when no longer needed, as well as providing the discovery of unknown service accounts. Other solutions like RoboForm and LastPass did not offer the …
Chose Delinea Secret Server
We tried using 1Password, and they have a great mobile app, but they weren't able to do the password rotation on our devices. Secret Server was basically our top option after reviewing.
Chose Delinea Secret Server
We've used Secret Server for years and don't have a valid reason to go away from it.
Chose Delinea Secret Server
KeePass is fine for individual use, but it does not meet the same objectives. There are a lot of products like KeePass that are just not as portable or robust, and do not have the kind of granularity Secret Server has. Being able to assign password permissions based on user …
Chose Delinea Secret Server
I've only used simple phone apps for this before. This is the only enterprise-grade solution I've used in this space. Given THOSE options, Secret Server is a fantastic solution. I still feel like there is a better interface out there somewhere.
Chose Delinea Secret Server
Besides KeePass, I have used the built-in browser password vaults, like the one for Chrome. These however are not very secure as security can be bypassed. KeePass is lighter weight and could be considered more secure as it is not a website. You can also create alternate modes …
Chose Delinea Secret Server
We explored Jum Cloud and ManageEngine. Delinea is comparable in terms of features; however, the implementation of these tools differs. Delinea is a bit more manual than the other two. However, the licensing and overall ROI are better for Delinea, as it provides almost all …
SecurID
Chose SecurID
SecurID works with more software/devices than Azure MFA. It also seems to work more smoothly for end-users compared to some of the other options out there. We have not had issues with this app not working and is very reliable/stable. It also allows token codes to be …
Chose SecurID
Overall MS AAD is good but we have had a few too many reliability issues with the product that have lead to enterprise authentication outages over the last year. The Senior executives have a preference on Securid to be more reliable than MS AAD. SecurID does a better job in …
Chose SecurID
SecurID is simple and inexpensive. It does what is needed of it, without a lot of bells and whistles. It was the most cost effective solution for our organization, and provided us quick return on our investment with minimal work.
Chose SecurID
RSA is an industry-standard and most users are comfortable with the process and use of the items. GA offers a phone-based platform and a user-based setup. However, there is some reluctance to use.
Chose SecurID
We use Entrust IdentifyGuard in a separate environment. While Entrust Identity Guard is a great solution, the scalability of RSA was the reason we chose this product.
Chose SecurID
And also Google Authenticator that TrustRadius does not have on their database. Both are good but not excellent. SecureID felt like the best option because it is solid and has proven to be the best option for more than 20 years. The other options were confusing and offer things …
Chose SecurID
RSA SecurID is in a different space than Okta and Ping Identity. In our experience RSA SecurID will protect on site networks and endpoints with RSA advanced authentication. They used two factor authentication to assure auditors and network admins that users that are logging in …
Chose SecurID
RSA is good for agent-based and RADIUS integration but the move is toward better integration with web-based (API/TLS) integration. RSA has a new product to support this integration but RSA SecureID does not offer this and is antiquated technology but still has it's placed in an …
Chose SecurID
RSA SecurID and Azure Multi-factor authentication both integrate with authentication on multiple operating systems and SaaS providers. RSA SecurID seems to integrate (at least while I have used it), with more software solutions than Azure Multi-factor authentication though.
Chose SecurID
RSA SecureID is still widely deployed and the de facto industry standard for 2nd factor authentication. Microsoft Azure offers alternative 2nd factor auth but the price was too high. We are still testing Citrix Netscaler offering with CloudBridge for 2nd factor auth and SMS …
Chose SecurID
Simple setup
Cost-effective and provides just the amount of security it promises
Chose SecurID
Duo security does not provide an internal solution, which is what we need in our environment to avoid making outside internet connections from our PCI-DSS environment. This is where RSA shines.
Chose SecurID
I didn't try any other product as RSA is the leader in two-factor token authentication.

Great for managing access to secrets and servers and is more secure than storing passwords in a browser. The browser plugin to autofill passwords works well. Being able to schedule access ahead of time is a big plus for me as I can be forgetful. If you want a lightweight password vault, however, it may not be the best choice.

Works well in a large organization with many employees and devices but may not work so well in smaller organizations due to alternatives that are cheaper and are already provided (such as Microsoft's Azure MFA). Using the soft token is easy and convenient. For a large environment, It has allowed us to have a single app used for authentication for all of our various users, and using the soft token is easy and convenient.

Pros
  • Works well with RBAC, workflow for access requests, and approvals for third parties.
  • Allows monitoring and recording of remote sessions.
  • Available for on-premise and cloud.

  • RSA SecurID allows me to access network files from remote locations (hotels, other businesses, working from home). This allows me greater productivity and helps me with a work-life balance as I can work later at night or not get so backed up when I'm traveling.
  • RSA SecurID keeps information secure by limiting access to network files
  • RSA SecurID is easy to use with a soft token - one less item to carry around in my travel bag

Cons
  • The sharing functionality NEEDS improvement. We share most passwords at a group level, but then it becomes impossible to share them with a dynamic group and one or two one-off people as well. This is a major shortcoming.
  • I don't love the interface. I feel like there is an attempt at a dashboard, but it is really not effective.
  • I've heard, but never seen, that the software can actually change passwords in the target systems. If this is part of its deliverable, I do not know how to use it, and I don't know how you would do that. Seems like a great feature for password management.

  • The Android application cannot be easily returned to the original code (if you chose to move to the next code).
  • If misconfigured, it can lock an administrator out of a server.
  • The look and feel of the RSA control center status bar application have a dated feel.

Long story short, does the job. Can use company credentials to setup and access the account for SecurID. Easy to setup and implement. Doesn't have a high learning curve.

Usability
My rating is purely based on the configurational activities, as feature-wise delineation has all the features that are very beneficial for customers, though the implementation is a bit more manual work, which can be reduced with a low-code platform. Along with that, we can have a better UI to have intuitiveness and can manage the platform for shared customers in a better way. Overall, it is a very good tool for PAM.

Using it very frequently, it's important that its straight forward and I do not have to go through unnecessary hoops to achieve something seemingly simple. Can setup using the company credentials and do not have to setup up a separate account. Setup was fast and easy. GUI is very straight forward and quick.

Support Rating
I actually haven't had to work with support. I have spoken to a colleague of mine who has worked with support and has been pleased.

Their support for onboarding and set-up is quite good. The only issues we tend to have are obtaining new user devices. These need to be planned ahead of time.

We explored Jum Cloud and ManageEngine. Delinea is comparable in terms of features; however, the implementation of these tools differs. Delinea is a bit more manual than the other two. However, the licensing and overall ROI are better for Delinea, as it provides almost all market-ready solutions and has a robust licensing mechanism, resulting in a better ROI.

RSA SecureID is still widely deployed and the de facto industry standard for 2nd factor authentication. Microsoft Azure offers alternative 2nd factor auth but the price was too high. We are still testing Citrix NetScaler offering with CloudBridge for 2nd factor auth and SMS code to user mobile device so it is yet to be seen as a viable alternative to RSA.

Return on Investment
  • The best return on investment is that all of our passwords are now up to date and usable by everyone in the department. The old way could only be accessed by one person at a time, and it was frequently wrong.
  • We save a lot of time in IT by having the passwords easily accessible. We also meet our security audit objectives by using this app instead of, say, an Excel spreadsheet or an old application that is no longer supported, as was the case at a previous workplace.
  • With the size of our department, we don't have enough passwords to go beyond the free version. It's fully functional, but it costs nothing (except some resources on a VM). ROI on free can't be beat.

  • We are pleased with our implementation of RSA Authentication Manager. The deployment process went smooth without many issues.
  • Administration and troubleshooting are very easy using the GUI console.
  • There is enough good quality documentation, training, and online forums are available for our team to refer to in case of any technical issues.
