Considered Both Products
DIBELS Next
Chose DIBELS Next
Both provide BOY, MOY, & EOY Assessments. We Progress Monitor with both, but Renaissance is much easier for the students to use themselves. My students never complain about DIBELS Next testing (they like to see if they “move up.”) However, Renaissance is a product I have used …
GoReact
Chose GoReact
I'm only familiar with GoReact to solve the problems I use GoReact to solve. I'm not interested in other platforms. I'm pretty content with what I see. I've heard of other platforms but never used them, so I won't speak to anything outside my own experience.
Chose GoReact
I have no products that I have seen the markers for feedback and recording films. I see recordings on ZOOM but markers.
Chose GoReact
Go React is easier to use and allows for ease of purchasing- especially for smaller organizations. Go React has video to video commenting, which is huge in increasing productivity.
Chose GoReact
We looked at Voicethread because the university has access to it but it does not even come close to functionality of GoReact.

More intense face-to-face training would be beneficial. The students can utilize their accounts easily. I like the assessment three times per year & my access to see if a student has gained, and if not, then reasoning is given. Some of the reports are hard for families to follow and understand. Honestly, I preferred the computer interface from the past years as opposed to the current system.

It is very well-suited for business presentations. The students improve their presentation skills tremendously using GoReact and the feedback from the instructor. It is less suited for very technical areas such as operations research and management science.

Cons
  • Presentation of the “how to”- I miss the older days of meeting for a week and learning the product inside & out.
  • More user-friendly format for those giving assessments-difficult to use the home page & areas within.
  • Parents/guardians have a difficult time with some of the written items, their lack of understanding.

  • Bigger screen of an individual signing
  • Do not see the closed captions if necessary
  • Do not combine gradebook with My Course at RIT and Blackboard at UR

Alternatives Considered
Both provide BOY, MOY, & EOY Assessments. We Progress Monitor with both, but Renaissance is much easier for the students to use themselves. My students never complain about DIBELS Next testing (they like to see if they “move up.”) However, Renaissance is a product I have used successfully for many more years, and the ease of use is ideal when in a busy classroom.

Return on Investment
  • I’m not with the monetary element, but I would think our school has benefitted from this investment.
  • Reduced my time for providing feedback by at least 30%
  • Increased the likelihood students would see and use my feedback
  • Increased the likelihood they would watch themselves on video
