Egnyte
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte was the clear winner, given how the access works and how it can scale over time. It allows folder access control at every folder level, meaning you won't have to restructure or create a new site just to isolate specific data.
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte syncs with Windows machines better than any competitor I have come across. The service focuses on just this platform and their in depth focus shows in the end result. Google is not really made with Windows in mind. Box is cumbersome and the web portal is not easy to use. …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte is already up to Dropbox because of its features and its interface we can easily understand Egnyte but dropbox is very hard to understand security is more in Egnyte as compare with dropbox so I think Egnyte is heading in the right direction and Egnyte team is doing a …
Chose Egnyte
I have also tried Azure Backup but Egnyte has more smart features than this. As I am using their platform for some time so when I get stuck anywhere I just contact their representatives and they respond on time. Listen to queries very carefully.
Chose Egnyte
It is a better cloud storage platform than other tools. The technical staff is the most fantastic thing about Egnyte. They are always available for any kind of help at any time. They assess the problem critically and
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte provided Quarem the most robust and secure environment. Additionally, Egynte makes organizing the files very simple, saving my team time and money.
Chose Egnyte
At the time when this was implemented (over 5 years ago and still in production), there were issues with syncing and reliability that Egnyte did not have, and have continued to impress with. Other providers have improved a lot and Egnyte is fairly costly, but switching costs …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte provided a secure and reliable platform for our specific need [for] secure file sharing. We do not rely on Egnyte for syncing files or for a corporate internal file share, which is how we use Google Drive. But, we are pleased with the customizations and tracking of …
Chose Egnyte
I have used DropBox a lot in the past which is similar but not as well suited to handling large amounts of data and is more complicated to use.
Chose Egnyte
We also looked at Dropbox and a few others, and we found that Egnyte was (at the time) the ONLY HIPPA and Part 11 compliant software on the market. We loved the security features in Egnyte and felt safe trusting our data to such an innovative and reputable company. We are …
Chose Egnyte
I think that Egnyte is a good tool especially when you need to share files within the same company or organization. I think that the layout is much better and updated than Dropbox. The downside to Egnyte is that you cannot edit files within the tool like you can do for Google, …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte has a much easier management console and it's easier to share files and create a directory of files etc. The overview is more simplified. Onedrive, however, has the option to collaborate in documents in the application itself. But Egnyte should have this feature in the …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte's storage capacity was well beyond the capabilities of DropBox at our budget. Plus, at the time (nearly five years ago) DropBox was a little quirky when it came to uploading files. OneDrive was a good fit but it presented challenges when working with users that did not …
Chose Egnyte
Egynte does not allow for file collaboration when compared to Google Drive. Egynte is a better option for compliant and secure file and asset management. Also for when taking version control into consideration. When organizations are collaborating with external organiations …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte is more user-friendly than both Dropbox and Box, and has more functionality to match. The user management is simple with Egnyte, and the storage limits are enormous - we'll never be concerned about running out of room. Egnyte's device management is also an essential part …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte is easier to use and doesn't have as many glitches. It's pretty seamless to edit something and it saves multiple copies of a draft. It's easier and cleaner to search, set up admin rights and you can set it up to store automatically. I had some major issues with Google …
Chose Egnyte
I did not select Egnyte - my company used it when I started to work here. I don't have another program to compare to but we all have been very happy with the system. We plan to use it for as long as possible. It is super easy to use and we love that it has the ability to open …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte has significantly more structure out of the box than Google Drive or Dropbox. While Google Drive is much cheaper, and Dropbox has more potential in the right hands; Egnyte just works immediately in an enterprise situation. There are other enterprise level solutions, like …
Chose Egnyte
Dropbox is just the main competitor of Egnyte that we have used and have ample experience with, among many others. Egnyte however blows dropbox out of the water in ease of use, style, functionality, and cyber security from my experience. Egnyte has been nothing short of …
Chose Egnyte
None of these other solutions had document tracking or search features that could even hold a candle to Egnyte. Out of all of them box had the best, then we tried Egnyte and it blew then all out of the water.
The amount of time we saved on minor tasks was more than enough to …
Chose Egnyte
Egnyte allows integration with Google Drive as well as providing additional functionality such as tasking.
Chose Egnyte
The biggest competitor and leader in this space is Dropbox. Egnyte beats Dropbox when it comes to ease of use and its inviting interface. However, Dropbox has the obvious advantage in reliability, which comes with the scale of that company. Ultimately, the security of Egnyte …
Zeplin
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is used for us purely as a handoff tool. It keeps it clean and clear for devs and product managers what is completed. It has some good labels and other organizing features. The different levels of access are also super helpful to give the correct people the view they …
Chose Zeplin
As our project is large and there are many modules and they should be consistent. So, Zeplin's style guide can be shared globally across different projects and we can easily ensure consistency across all modules. Zeplin automatically exports assets in multiple file formats like …
Chose Zeplin
Actually, we didn't select Zeplin. After a long time of internal discussions, the majority of the team decided that we want to move to Figma. We still use Zeplin as a legacy, but we don't use it for new features. In my opinion, it's less flexible than Figma, which allows …
Chose Zeplin
We went without a tool like Zeplin for a long time, but as we grew we needed to get a better handle on the design process and handoff to engineering. We went straight to Zeplin off of numerous recommendations and didn't look back. We have had a great experience with Zeplin.
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is more focused on the handoff than in the creation itself. The other alternatives can do both, but Zeplin is an awesome tool for the handoff part. It depends in how big is your team and how the workflow is organized to understand whats the best tool for your team.
Chose Zeplin
It was a business need from different departments. From an IT point of view, we have been a part of purchasing and setting up. However, the decision to go with Zeplin was not ours.
Chose Zeplin
I believe Invision is the only one that is supporting such inspection tools at this moment.
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin has and easier on the eyes UI, not a cumbersome constructors of projects and easier collaboration.
Chose Zeplin
Out of all of the products that I have used to support design-to-development handoffs, Zeplin is my favorite. It’s pretty lightweight and easy to use (once you get the hang of it). Zeplin also has a smooth interface and is, generally, clearer to use than other tools, such as …
Chose Zeplin
These other tools are really helpful products for creating and sharing wireframes / prototypes. However, Zeplin is the best tool for the actual hand off between the design and development teams once the design is actually ready to share. Zeplin fills this gap and improves the …
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is simpler. Zeplin lacks prototyping on par with Invision. Zeplin doesn't give a direct code for Android and iOS like Figma does. Zeplin doesn't have a lot of advanced features like Invision, for example, whiteboard. But Zeplin is good for at its job which is to share …
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is a really nice lightweight app, that is easier to use than Invision for sharing purposes. Invision does primarily handle prototyping, which Zeplin does not do. Abstract is my product of choice but is also a slightly different tool — almost a Github for design. It …
Chose Zeplin
We chose Zeplin because it allowed our product and design teams to collaborate more effectively, while providing the rest of the organization an easily accessible location to access up-to-date assets. While InVision's interface can be more intuitive, we prefer Zeplin because it …
Chose Zeplin
Marvel is a pretty expensive application for what it gives you, it is a pretty good tool but I think the handoff is not as good as Zeplin's. I think the style of Zeplin is more oriented to developers and Marvel is more oriented to the designers. I like the way Zeplin is …
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is great to inspect and share user interfaces, specifications and assets, perfect for developers. Tools like Invision and Marvel are much better to create prototypes for both developers, coworkers and even stakeholders, but they don't have this kind of feature …
Chose Zeplin
For my company needs, Zeplin comes as the best tool in its category. Zeplin's competitors are great tools but they either offer way too many features or are priced above Zeplin with the same features.

Zeplin is in the right spot for both pricing and features.
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is a better tool for collaboration and has a deeper feature set that helps communicate the information developers need to build products.
Chose Zeplin
I know there are other products out there but Zeplin has been so effective that I haven't even bothered to look elsewhere. The whole experience of Zeplin has been excellent. However, once Adobe XD is more built out Zeplin will finally have a formidable competitor as it will be …
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is much better when it comes to seeing the properties and CSS code of the design elements. Our developers love it when they get all that info from the Zeplin file.
Chose Zeplin
Zeplin is the only solution tailored for this common use case. Previously we just shared files in dropbox but that was messy and didn't allow for specific comments, etc.

If you're simply sharing and syncing across devices and don't care about granular security permissions, this is an easy win. If you're needing more control over the ability to restrict users from deleting folders, sharing folders, and allowing only certain groups to be able to view a folder, this can work but will ultimately give you arthritis as you'll end up having to perform a multitude of clicks for a task that should be able to be done in a fraction of the action. Have a folder template that allows for the first two levels of folders to be view only and the third level allowing file/folder creation and deletion? Have fun setting each of the third level folder's permissions-- they should give out free wrist braces. When discussed with their engineers about this function, a suggested $28,000 custom script was suggested. I don't believe them when they say that they haven't heard of other customers wishing to assign rights to multiple folders-- Something any sort of real admin would require. It simply isn't important to them, which is fine. The current ability

I still have some issues, especially with color integration between the style guide and also project. When we update the colors, it's not automatically sync to every project. Aside from that, zeplin solves my problem for hand-off design from design to developer. I set zeplin is source of truth design file

Pros
  • Drive map tool on Windows and flexibility on client configuration, can change drive letters fairly easily if needed.
  • New user setup is straightforward and permissions not too difficult to set up and assign.
  • Support has been fairly responsive and helpful with issues as they have come up.

Cons
  • We often have issues with WebEdit, changes not saving/overwriting
  • No functionality to drag and drop files/folders within the UI, can only move things by going through Move > Select location
  • When previewing Word files in the browser, tracked changes are not shown so there can be misunderstandings when quickly reviewing documents

  • It would be better if it has a dedicated web application
  • It's not the easiest tool to learn and start working with
  • It would be awesome if it had more features turning it into an all-around tool for mockups and prototypes

We found that usage of Egnyte in our supported clients, with sufficient bandwidth, provided all the features and stability we required. The billing setup was fair and the support provided was ample for end users and well as our in house admins. There was a concern about high usage clients but this was taken into account during the vetting process.

Usability
Really easy to use the interface. The web browser is very intuitive and I have not had any notable issues with this. It's easy to work on documents as a team, and the only issues we have to tend to come with Apple apps and downloading large files to WebEdit. It's very similar to the filing systems that come on Apple and Windows devices so not a steep learning curve.

Zeplin's component management and style guide help us to be consistent across whole product and it so easy to use for non-technical person. It is now easy to collaboration for designes between different teams like stackholders, product owner, UI/UX, developers and testers. Now there is only one point of reference is Zeplin so it is so easy to get details without asking designer or developer again and again.

Performance
Egnyte works very well across all platforms and as an add-on to other programs. Load time is close to nothing. Reports can be made in no time as well. All in all no performance issues. We can see that it depends on the local network connection. If you're running with fiber there won't be any issues.

I never had to reach out to customer support for Egnyte. I don't know any coworkers who have had to reach out to Egnyte for support either. As far as I am concerned, the support team is doing a good job since I have not had to reach out to them.

Zeplin has classic support with a chat from the website. It's working fine, and we're also getting the support needed when needed. However, Zeplin is very good at closing the incidents and moving on. It was a while ago we had a case with their support so that it might have improved since then.

Egnyte syncs with Windows machines better than any competitor I have come across. The service focuses on just this platform and their in depth focus shows in the end result. Out of all of the products that I have used to support design-to-development handoffs, Zeplin is my favorite. It’s pretty lightweight and easy to use (once you get the hang of it). Zeplin also has a smooth interface and is, generally, clearer to use than other tools, such as InVision. Plus, all of the plug-ins that you can use with Zeplin have supported the design-development relationship and workflows in which I’ve been involved in more efficient, clear, and effective ways than I’ve seen with any other product.

Return on Investment
  • The promising advantage of Egnyte is that user can access their files from the cloud anywhere without any cumbrance like connecting to VPN or other third-party soft wares.
  • No risk of data loss.
  • The platform is lacking in changing the parent administrator of a folder as if one person is the administrator of the file or folder and when needs to change it becomes clunky and does not supports it properly.

  • We're using the free plan, so it fits in our needs, although we're limited to create only one project at a time
  • Sketch has some plugins that offers exactly what Zeplin does, for free
  • The integration with design apps (Sketch, Photoshop, XD) and collaboration (Slack and Trello) helps our team to better communicate and be notified on every update
