Chose Frontify
We've invested time building our own hosted interface, and recently begun exploring Figma for design system management too. The benefit of Frontify is it's easy public access. The downfall is integration with other systems required in the UX, Design, Product Management, and …
OpenBrand.com is not quite as visually appealing as Frontify, but it would be worth investigating if you are looking for brand management. I frequently use them in combination with each other and have a more appealing pricing structure.
I'm not sure of other software that is too similar Frontify. We chose Frontify because of prior usage at other organizations. Frontify is easy to use and allows for the central management of brand assets and guidelines.
I tried to use Canva as a more affordable option early on but found that the platform didn't really work well with text and creating cohesive design was difficult because of the way the page layouts were. Every page was separate and it wasn't easy to scroll to find errors in …
I think if we had found Canva first we would have probably chosen it as our platform. We had already invested a lot of time and energy into developing multiple templates and branding standards in LucidPress.
Simple and straightforward to understand, usable without much introduction, even for users without much prior knowledge. Helps us enormously, the image database saves us so much time and nerves. Before, we always had to search for a picture for a very long time, now it's super fast thanks to keywords.
It’s a good platform to provide a hub for locked down template management. However if you are looking for an online design software you may be better served by other platforms
Frontify is very easy to use and makes updating information a breeze. Frontify acts a central location to house assets and information for easy sharing. You can plug and play information and even white label the guide if desired
We've invested time building our own hosted interface, and recently begun exploring Figma for design system management too. The benefit of Frontify is it's easy public access. The downfall is integration with other systems required in the UX, Design, Product Management, and Development processes - something Figma supports well.
I tried to use Canva as a more affordable option early on but found that the platform didn't really work well with text and creating cohesive design was difficult because of the way the page layouts were. Every page was separate and it wasn't easy to scroll to find errors in margins, font size, and spacing.
For a highly visual brand with a small team, I believe the time saved and the tools offered would make the plus plan attractive. I do not know that I would recommend the larger plans to my clients.
