Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT is a secure file transfer solution that automates and encrypts data using industry standard protocols (e.g. OpenPGP, SFTP, HTTPS). With auditing and reporting, GoAnywhere can help organizations meet compliance regulations like PCI DSS and HIPAA. GoAnywhere can be deployed on-premises or in the cloud. As a VMware-validated product, it also runs in several virtualized environments including VMware, Amazon AWS, and Microsoft Azure. GoAnywhere exchanges batch and ad…
Chose Fortra's Globalscape Enhanced File Transfer (EFT)
Globalscape and Automate are similar. However, with Automate, you do not have PGP or SSH keyring functionality within the application. You would need to purchase and install them separately. So as far as organization I like Globalscape for key retainment. Globalscape's …
Chose Fortra's Globalscape Enhanced File Transfer (EFT)
Globalscape EFT is more intuitive and easier to create file transmission rules and troubleshoot than the other software applications we have used in the past or evaluated. Globalscape EFT has the ability to easily locate the status of file transmissions along with the ability …
GoAnywhere versus SSIS was an easy decision. SSIS works great for SQL Server and that's about it. Our primary database is DB2 and it is a real pain to use SSIS for this. Go Anywhere versus Datastage is tougher. DataStage is a far more comprehensive package. However, GA is far …
I did POC software on many vendors for month. I found out that GoAnywhere was the perfect solutions for us. When POC in progress, some vendors refused to help me or guide without buying the software. When I called support for GoAnywhere they were able to help me without any …
GoAnywhere adds features as extra modules, allowing you to start with the most basic file transferring solution and scaling up as you find other uses. Adding more modules means that you are building on an existing platform, and you will not need to seek out other vendors.
I've never used a product that handles file transfers in the way GoAnywhere does. I have used other SFTP servers and this is by far the most robust and easiest to use. I've used Filezilla, Cerberus and Windows for FTP services and this by far is easier to set up and manage …
At the time we were evaluating a managed file transfer system, we initially looked at Ipswitch. It did not have a web based interface and the overall price was extremely higher than GA MFT. The solutions offered by GA MFT were significantly more attractive for our needs as an …
There is not a comparison between these solutions and GoAnywhere MFT. GoAnywhere MFT is above and beyond anything that these solutions could ever aspire to be.
I feel the product is best suited for companies that have more that 15 file transmissions. Globalscape has active replication (node) for offloading heavy transmission to another node. If you are not using encryption and your transmissions are less than 15, although the product is capable it may not be worth the investment on return. Globalscape is a very powerful file transmission application it better to leverage all the great facets of security and reliability.
Go Anywhere is perfect for moving data between systems. It is great for pulling data and emailing it or sending it to another server. However, Go Anywhere is limited as an ETL tool. It is not good for large datasets. When we had to move millions of rows from one server to another, it totally choked.
Automated Task Scheduling - This is a no-brainer. Schedules are easily set up to accomplish anything from basic file transfer tasks to advanced database queries and e-mails.
User Interface - Easy to navigate and organized. A central administration dashboard is available to keep up with processes and users.
Multiple file transfer solutions - GA MFT provides FTP, FTPS, SFTP, HTTPS, Secure E-Mail as options for secure file transfers. If one method does not suit the needs internally or for a vendor, other options are available.
Would like to see the ability for a rule in EFT to link the the Advanced Workflow that it is called (rather than having to manually locate the Advanced Workflow)
Would like the ability to disable just a part of an Event Rule
Would like to see more template creation functionality
Since using it and having time to work with it, its process and actions are growing on me and once a project is created one can implement across numerous location or platforms
GoAnywhere's support team is absolutely wonderful. They are always very fast to respond and will do anything that they can to help you with whatever dilemma you are facing. They also have a great user forum that is very helpful if you are looking for the solution to a problem or just want some advice from others. They are constantly looking to improve and always looking for suggestions on what customers would like to see next which is refreshing.
Implementation was straight forward. We paid for 50 hours of professional service in case, we need help. We end using only 10 hours. I have only 1 month to convert over 120 scripts from FTP voyager to goanywhere. Old script was had written using bat files. Some of the batch file were written by some other person, who passed away. Documents for old script was not in details. With the professional service, I was able to convert all script within windows
Globalscape EFT is more intuitive and easier to create file transmission rules and troubleshoot than the other software applications we have used in the past or evaluated. Globalscape EFT has the ability to easily locate the status of file transmissions along with the ability to locate what any file transmission issue may be and easily resolve.
I've never used a product that handles file transfers in the way GoAnywhere does. I have used other SFTP servers and this is by far the most robust and easiest to use. I've used FileZilla, Cerberus and Windows for FTP services and this by far is easier to set up and manage than the other options.
With the Secure Mail feature we automated massive secure mail distributions that were previously done by post.
By building corporate and EDI frameworks with the Project designer, we reduce the complexity of adding new project to adding a new configuration file to the framework.
Simplify security administration by having a single point of entry for process that need file transfers with external partners.
