I am currently using both the platforms, Hexnode UEM and Esper. Esper is used for managing mobile devices and Lenovo Tablets while Hexnode UEM is being used for Microsoft tablets. The basic framework behind both of them is almost the same. Both of them have a clean and …

Far better than Drata because the Drata solution felt like an MVP (minimum viable product). Comparatively you can do tons more with Hexnode UEM at a comparable price point. Drata did however did have broader OS support, but Drata's lack of configurability left it as only a …

Several UEMs enable kiosks, and Hexnode's customizing options are unmatched. For instance, we may entirely redesign the smartphone, starting with the lock screen and home screen backgrounds, to include your brand and company logo. The customer support they provide are also a …
Chose Hexnode UEM
The tech support and the customization of the features they provided are great. Along with the BYOD help they provided helped manage the devices during the COVID lockdown with ease.

The ease of management of the devices with Hexnode was great.
It was extremely easy to use and easy to understand for the team.
The customer support they provided great as well.

We were in the market for a solution that would reduce the workload on our client and the initial choice was Scalefusion; however, on getting a free trial, the UI wasn't that easy to use, and Scalefusion seemed like a smaller company which is new to endpoint management. Whereas …

Chose Hexnode UEM
We tried Jamf Pro for the same but the UI looked a bit dated and while Jamf is a more established product, it did not have multi-OS support which was one of our primary requirements. Hexnode on the other hand had a smoother UI and offered a better value for the money spent.

Google MDM did not have the kiosk lockdown mechanism like Hexnode so went with Hexnode and it turned out really well!

ManageEngine was confusing and hard to get support from, in my experience. We use other products from ManageEngine and it is always a headache to get a hold of them. Hexnode UEM is two clicks and you are talking to someone on their live chat pretty much all day. ManageEngine …

Economical pricing, scalability from a small start, ease of setup were major factors in choosing N-able RMM over other platforms.

Recently evaluated NinjaOne and was very impressed. Have been with the (original) N-able RMM tool for nearly a decade, but considering a switch. NinjaOne's interface is very modern and slick. Lots of great features and integrations.

Much easier to use and less bulky of a program. Also cheaper and easier to manage.

I chose SolarWinds for its easy-to-use HUB, for payments, but also for all technical features which other programs don't show.
It's done well with all the releases (agents for mac, windows, and Linux OS).

We have been very pleased with our transition, primarily because of cost.
Chose N-able N-sight RMM
SolarWinds offers more customization out of the box and allows us to build the monitoring environment to the specifications we require. We are not locked into a specific tool set with no customization options.
Chose N-able N-sight RMM
SolarWinds provided the easiest entry into the RMM game, requiring a smaller upfront commitment, great tools, and the best early experience with sales reps, engineers, and onboarding.
Chose N-able N-sight RMM
We moved away from Kaseya to Max Focus, which later became SolarWinds. At the time we were having lots of issues using Kaseya, with failed alerting as well as reporting. SolarWinds (Max Focus) addressed our issues. As a small MSP, the dashboard panel is intuitive, allowing the …

Chose N-able N-sight RMM
Labtech didn't offer as many tools as SW RMM at the time I was using it. LogMeIn is one of the worst tools I had to use, I got feed-up with the fact that I always had to provide a username and password to connect to a PC. TeamViewer is not quite the product SW RMM is.

Solarwinds is making a comeback, in that when it was purchased the development was put on hold for what seemed like multiple years, because of that we moved to LabTech (which I feel is superior in many ways). I've heard that Solarwinds is getting better, but still not up to par …

Hexnode was best suited for us to manage android devices and more specifically for Kiosk Lockdown and restrictions. Hexnode being a UEM offers support for platforms as well. It certainly does open doors for us to increase and take up more devices under the management of Hexnode. As said earlier, Hexnode does not support wearables as of now; would be great if they could start supporting them soon.

SolarWinds patch management has had issues over the years. Sometimes requiring manual intervention to get resolved. The UI [with N-able RMM (formerly Solarwinds RMM)] makes it easy to see status of systems and identify any alerts easily. Remotely monitoring the status of servers/computers. Managing the systems, patching, systems maintenance and remote support.

Pros
  • Setting mandatory applications and the silent installation of enterprise apps.
  • Hexnode integrates with the Apple Device Enrollment Program and Apple Volume Purchase Program, enabling bulk software purchases and device enrollment.
  • Blocklisted applications would be uninstalled from the device and would not be available for download again.

  • Thanks to RMM I never feel like I'm unaware as to what's going on in my network. I can be in the office or half a country away and feel completely aware of what's going on.
  • We've had numerous situations over the years where a part of our network is having issues (latency or errors) that the RMM alerts have saved us from a major outage. You can't ask for better proactive alerting.
  • The advanced alerting allows us to stay ahead of issues instead of reacting to them. This gives us confidence in our network and our end users better support.

Cons
  • We utilize a small number of Windows devices in addition to Android ones, however, Hexnode UEM has very few Windows-specific restrictions compared to those for other platforms.
  • When we turned on the remote control, the Hexnode for Work app would periodically crash.
  • We had to get in touch with their tech support to resolve the issue because the Multi app kiosk mode for Windows devices was not correctly pushed.

  • There are so many features and options that it can be overwhelming in the beginning.
  • Wish there was a way to add custom fields to reports.
  • The GUI is crowded or links aren't clearly described on certain pages. I find myself forgetting how to get to certain views.
  • The software can start to lag after a while even if the hardware is specced out correctly. I would definitely recommend over-speccing the device.
  • API is just OK, wish they would put more effort into this.

Usability
UX is pretty good, but various screens are a bit redundant. Managing user and managing devices is often one in the same operation, but is broken across multiple screens. Device management policies are strange because if you make a "macOS" policy, why does it have all the Windows, iOS, Android etc options? It's unlikely you'll want all of these options for all possible OSes in one policy, but that's the only way to build a policy. Manage policy changes require remote system restart which is highly disruptive to employees.

The interface is easy to navigate. Setting up policies is straight forward. The antivirus and web filter are simple and exceptions are easy to make. Upgrading the agent is made simple and creating scripts is made fool proof. (Well, almost)

The ease of use, full functionality, reliability and excellent support.[N-able RMM (formerly Solarwinds RMM)] gives users a full suite of tools with a single installable file. Return on Investment
  • We already had someone try to walk away with an ipad after deploying Hexnode, and we were immediately able to force an activation lock telling them to bring it back and they did.
  • It has saved us a lot of time setting up ios devices as we have a limited amount of IT staff and Hexnode makes it take probably around ten minutes an ipad.
  • Employee experience has improved since we can reset code remotely and they no longer have to send the ipads back to the corporate office to get reset.

  • The SolarWinds name carries a good bit of clout in the industry. This has definitely helped secure a few deals.
  • The addition of Cloud Backups had a positive impact because we were able to easily add it as a bolt-on for existing clients. We have now added this offering to almost 20% of our managed servers.
  • We are in the process of moving into a "co-managed" business plan. SolarWinds RMM has facilitated this by allowing us to help in-house IT teams with offloading server management and maintenance while they are able to focus on big-picture objectives.
