I know its not a direct competitor but HID is better in all the sense its amazing because of its integration with Microsoft Azure AD. It has overall better functionality as it doesnt work on cloud premises it can also be used on premises. The best part is one can use mfa …
Chose HID DigitalPersona
We've been using HID DigitalPersona for so long that I honestly can't recall what other products we did investigated. We have been satisfied with the app for a very long time, therefore we don't see the need to explore other options.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
It has a greater advantage than Okta because it gives a variety of verification options and allows biometrics logging in, which is something the other software does not, in my suggestion.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
HID DigitalPersona is selected against them as it has a reliable and a great secured software which has a versatile access to other platforms as well which saves a lot software to be taken and HID DigitalPersona is a one stop solution to all problems it has everything a …
Chose HID DigitalPersona
Our use of HID DigitalPersona has been for long that I really can't remember what other products we looked at. We have happy with app for a very long time thus I don't see the need to look at other possibilities.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
overall HID was a better pick it had more features and was cheaper in comparison. its integration with Azure ad makes it super helpful.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
Not proper usage with AWS but HID has been really versatile it just works as we need to login to system has become really easy and fast because of it. The multi factor authorization gives you the freedom to chose from a variety of authentication methods such as biometric login, …
Chose HID DigitalPersona
In comaprison to okta its better suited as it has array of authentication methods and it also offers login via biometric which according to me is not present in the other software.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
HID is really superior because we can use it on any device. It also has MFA (Multi-factor authorization), which provides an extra layer of security.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
HID DigitalPersona is a better optionbecause of its many authentication factors, integration options, andcentralized management.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
They both are great and offer great features such as single sign on and top, but HID DigitalPersona is ahead of Ping identity because it offers Biometrics as well and it can also work in offline setting as well.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
Strong authentication, multifactor authentication, biometrics, and integration set HID DigitalPersona apart, making it an excellent option for a range of authentication requirements.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
I don't have excessive experience with One login, but it wasn't as feature rich as HID DigitalPersona. The best part about HID DigitalPersona is that it can be used in offline settings as well.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
HID serves all our purposes and is not that expensive its integration with microsoft active directory makes it super helpful. It is loaded with features that are not just for show off but actually works its a great software and we dont think any other software can match its …

Chose HID DigitalPersona
We have used HID DigitalPersona for over 8 years and have been so satisfied with the product that we just haven't even looked because we like the product that much.
Chose HID DigitalPersona
We went the other direction. DigitalPersona was our initial implementation, but we have moved away from DigitalPersona and moved to a product called TecMFA. Our organization has implemented Okta as our application and Azure as our multifactor authentication platform, and …
SecurID
Chose SecurID
SecurID works with more software/devices than Azure MFA. It also seems to work more smoothly for end-users compared to some of the other options out there. We have not had issues with this app not working and is very reliable/stable. It also allows token codes to be …
Chose SecurID
Overall MS AAD is good but we have had a few too many reliability issues with the product that have lead to enterprise authentication outages over the last year. The Senior executives have a preference on Securid to be more reliable than MS AAD. SecurID does a better job in …
Chose SecurID
SecurID is simple and inexpensive. It does what is needed of it, without a lot of bells and whistles. It was the most cost effective solution for our organization, and provided us quick return on our investment with minimal work.
Chose SecurID
RSA is an industry-standard and most users are comfortable with the process and use of the items. GA offers a phone-based platform and a user-based setup. However, there is some reluctance to use.
Chose SecurID
We use Entrust IdentifyGuard in a separate environment. While Entrust Identity Guard is a great solution, the scalability of RSA was the reason we chose this product.
Chose SecurID
And also Google Authenticator that TrustRadius does not have on their database. Both are good but not excellent. SecureID felt like the best option because it is solid and has proven to be the best option for more than 20 years. The other options were confusing and offer things …
Chose SecurID
RSA SecurID is in a different space than Okta and Ping Identity. In our experience RSA SecurID will protect on site networks and endpoints with RSA advanced authentication. They used two factor authentication to assure auditors and network admins that users that are logging in …
Chose SecurID
RSA is good for agent-based and RADIUS integration but the move is toward better integration with web-based (API/TLS) integration. RSA has a new product to support this integration but RSA SecureID does not offer this and is antiquated technology but still has it's placed in an …
Chose SecurID
RSA SecurID and Azure Multi-factor authentication both integrate with authentication on multiple operating systems and SaaS providers. RSA SecurID seems to integrate (at least while I have used it), with more software solutions than Azure Multi-factor authentication though.
Chose SecurID
RSA SecureID is still widely deployed and the de facto industry standard for 2nd factor authentication. Microsoft Azure offers alternative 2nd factor auth but the price was too high. We are still testing Citrix Netscaler offering with CloudBridge for 2nd factor auth and SMS …
Chose SecurID
Simple setup
Cost-effective and provides just the amount of security it promises
Chose SecurID
Duo security does not provide an internal solution, which is what we need in our environment to avoid making outside internet connections from our PCI-DSS environment. This is where RSA shines.
Chose SecurID
I didn't try any other product as RSA is the leader in two-factor token authentication.

HID DigitalPersona and RSA SecurID Suite are both user authentication and identification products. Both software allow for multifactor authentication, including physical and biometric identification methods.

RSA SecurID Suite may be more scaled for enterprises, based on greater flexibility to integrate with a larger range of cloud applications. HID DigitalPersona may provide more functionality for midsize and large businesses with its deep integration with Active Directory environments and cross-application password management.

Features

HID DigitalPersona and RSA SecurID Suite both provide multifactor authentication capabilities for businesses. However, they each have unique specializations that standout.

HID DigitalPersona deploys on Windows Active Directory. This functionality enables simple password management across applications and networks. It also provides effective biometric authentication, such as fingerprint recognition.

RSA SecurID stands out for its support for remote authentication and access. RSA enables remote access through convenient end-user setup and heavy investment in integration with cloud-based applications.

Limitations

Both products have distinct strengths, but they also come with some weaknesses.

HID DigitalPersona users have struggled with the implementation process, particularly in certain network environments or browsers. Post-implementation, some users have not received sufficient support from the vendor when troubleshooting or scaling up their deployment.

RSA SecurID users have experienced some problems with mobile device authentication, both from administrative and end-user experiences. The biometric authentication has also been lacking for some users.

Pricing

HID DigitalPersona is priced separately for the software and the hardware for biometric authentication. The hardware can range from $50-100 per reader, and the software’s pricing is available by quote from the vendor.

RSA SecurID offers some features, such as multifactor authentication, in a free trial for new users. Hard tokens are frequently priced between $1-2 per month. Other authentication tokens and software pricing is available by quote from the vendor.

Works well in a large organization with many employees and devices but may not work so well in smaller organizations due to alternatives that are cheaper and are already provided (such as Microsoft's Azure MFA). Using the soft token is easy and convenient. For a large environment, It has allowed us to have a single app used for authentication for all of our various users, and using the soft token is easy and convenient.

Pros
  • Super fast to recognize fingerprint and authenticate .
  • Accurate with a wide area of fingerprint. Most windows laptops with built in fingerprint scanners only recognize a small area of print.
  • Units are inexpensive.
  • Quick and easy to install server software and client hardware.
  • When workstations were upgraded from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 the software continued working flawlessly.

  • RSA SecurID allows me to access network files from remote locations (hotels, other businesses, working from home). This allows me greater productivity and helps me with a work-life balance as I can work later at night or not get so backed up when I'm traveling.
  • RSA SecurID keeps information secure by limiting access to network files
  • RSA SecurID is easy to use with a soft token - one less item to carry around in my travel bag

Cons
  • Multiple domains - DigitalPersona struggles with multiple domains. Since the solution is licensed per domain, migrating users between domains can be troublesome to keep licensed. Additionally, migrating to a new domain removes the AD leaf objects that store all digital persona information, essentially wiping out and credentials or other stored information.
  • Password change - DigitalPersona can be confusing to update when a stored password for a website is updated. The password is entered, and then the user is redirected to the websites password change page. Users must then authenticate with a Digital persona credential again before being prompted by Digital Persona to update the password. If the user is allowed to change the password manually through the websites page, this will lead to what is stored in Digital Persona being out of sync with the new password, and eventually account lockouts.
  • Terminal Server - DigitalPersona has performance issues when utilized on a high-traffic terminal server. Often it causes big CPU spikes as well as hanging sessions upon disconnect.

  • The Android application cannot be easily returned to the original code (if you chose to move to the next code).
  • If misconfigured, it can lock an administrator out of a server.
  • The look and feel of the RSA control center status bar application have a dated feel.

It is wonderful for multifactor authentication and gives us many options for what we use to authenticate. All of our users use it and it is engrained into our group policies and people would be very disappointed if it went away.

Long story short, does the job. Can use company credentials to setup and access the account for SecurID. Easy to setup and implement. Doesn't have a high learning curve.

Usability
I think there are still fundamental enhancements needed to be added to the management consoles and I think there ought to be a Centralized, Windows Based "Thick" Management Application instead of individual utilities which vary from MMCs, Scripts, Wizards, etc.

Using it very frequently, it's important that its straight forward and I do not have to go through unnecessary hoops to achieve something seemingly simple. Can setup using the company credentials and do not have to setup up a separate account. Setup was fast and easy. GUI is very straight forward and quick.

Extremely poor; I've never encountered such. Professional Services completely dropped us for months. Crossmatch tech support seems like it has 3 techs tops! No response to emails, calls, the absolute worst! I will never recommend DP to anyone.

Their support for onboarding and set-up is quite good. The only issues we tend to have are obtaining new user devices. These need to be planned ahead of time.

Could use tools to audit license usage at a more granular level as to allow an administrator to free up licenses from users whom seldom use their biometrics to login.

We evaluated Cisco DUO but ultimately chose HID because of their support for biometrics. With DUO every user would have to have the authentication app on their personal phone and pull it out each time they had to log in. We definitely did not want this for our frontline staff as it would slow the process way down

RSA SecureID is still widely deployed and the de facto industry standard for 2nd factor authentication. Microsoft Azure offers alternative 2nd factor auth but the price was too high. We are still testing Citrix NetScaler offering with CloudBridge for 2nd factor auth and SMS code to user mobile device so it is yet to be seen as a viable alternative to RSA.

Return on Investment
  • Provides a quick one finger authentication\log-on.
  • Logging onto a machine that is used by several other users, such as in retail is no problem because the DigitalPersona software does a switch user function instead of logging out the other user.
  • One negative that was apparent immediately after installing the DigitalPersona software was that users very easily forgot their Windows passwords because of the one finger log-on.

  • We are pleased with our implementation of RSA Authentication Manager. The deployment process went smooth without many issues.
  • Administration and troubleshooting are very easy using the GUI console.
  • There is enough good quality documentation, training, and online forums are available for our team to refer to in case of any technical issues.
