TIBCO iProcess is a very nice option if your process is large, complex, has a lot of cases (instances) or huge number of users. It is really performant. Also thanks to "Technology plug-ins" add-in it has wonderful integration with TIBCO Buinessworks, what opens you BPM to any kind of external system integration. But if you are managing only small, local, departmental processes it feels too big and too complex, there are other more suitable products.

if you have standard processes that are often executed, it's worth to use. If you are a small company it is generally not worth to implement because you will need somebody who permanently works with it and maintains the processes.

Pros
  • Performance. TIBCO iProcess is the most performant BPM I've even seen.
  • Manage large workloads. It can handle tens of thousands users and groups, hundreds of thousand or million live cases.
  • It can also manage very large and complex process definitions.
  • Very stable, once you get your business process up and running it is very stable.

Cons
  • It is complex to use.
  • The official support for the tool is not available anymore through TIBCO.

  • If you had the ability to drag tasks around in a nonlinear way, it could be a cool creative feature. An example is to have a subtask next to another that says N/A if the task wasn't executed because it wasn't applicable.
  • Inbox tab can be overwhelming but that may just be the style in which I built my checklists.

Usability
It integrates all the BPM principles along with the great user interface and independent modules and engines. All the modules are separate and stand alone and thus provides easier understanding and ease of support.

Since my last login into the platform, the latest update made the app much easier to use and learn. It's incredibly clean, and everything is exactly where it should be location-wise. You can tell they listen to their user base for features.

Alternatives Considered
iProcess is a previous generation product, it lacks OSGi and cloud so it is seen as "old". Due to this, it is difficult to choose new installations. All other options seem shiny in comparison. But regarding performance and stability, it is still unsurpassed.

I've tried other checklist tools like Google Keep, but it was too simple. I've tried Flowster, which is very similar to Process Street, but I like Process Street better. The interface is a lot more balanced and pleasant to look at. I found Flowster to be a less appealing interface even though the features were similar. I also briefly tried systemHUB but it is very expensive for what it offers compared to Process Street.
