Considered Both Products
Infoblox DDI (BloxOne)
Chose Infoblox DDI (BloxOne)
Cisco umbrella only does DNS and not IP Management. Moreover, it's DNS is cloud based and requires a local dns resolver. So it makes no sense in having only cisco umbrella without infoblox.
Chose Infoblox DDI (BloxOne)
Infoblox DDI supports services across hybrid platforms and the capability to switch from appliances to VMs has added to the mobility of the applications. Setting up two grids(Internal and external) helps manage and segment the network in scopes of DNS and DHCP and apply …
Chose Infoblox DDI (BloxOne)
We previously used Microsoft DHCP. Infoblox DDI is head and shoulders better than Microsoft for DHCP and IPAM. Its is much more robust, easy to use, and reliable. The added features of DNS and TFTP are a bonus for what we are doing. It can easily be expanded for multiple …
Chose Infoblox DDI (BloxOne)
We have mostly used Microsoft and QIP (several years ago), and of course BIND. QIP is the most comparable tool, and, while good, Infoblox is a much better product. Microsoft DNS/DHCP server is basic, and it is free. It works, but forget truly using it as a management tool. …
Chose Infoblox DDI (BloxOne)
Between Solarwinds IPAM and Infoblox, I'd still choose Infoblox even if Solarwinds is prettier to look at. Infoblox does a fantastic job at managing IP space and really doesn't have much competition in this space. Ease of use, being able to queue changes and having all this …

Chose Netbox
The API is just very well designed. All tools say that what you can do with webUI, you can also do it via the REST API. That is usually not the case except for Netbox, where you can really do everything with the API. For instance with GLPI, you cannot get rack and rack units …

Infoblox DDI is an excellent alternative for Microsoft DHCP. It is a much more robust solution. It can also do DNS for your entire environment. However, if you are an AD environment, you will still need Microsoft DNS servers. The IPAM functionality is excellent for keeping track of your IP addresses.

Netbox is very well suited when you want to consolidate your inventory in one place. Netbox is also very well suited when you want to generate network configurations. You can request the REST API to get the date of a device and generate network configurations with a templating tool, and that is very easy.

Usability
It's generally easy to navigate through all of the menus. It's also very powerful in that there are many options available for configuration, allowing one to take advantage of IP address management tools. This tool is definitely a leader in the space, and provided you have the budget, is a very good investment. The team that uses it will appreciate the tool.

Alternatives Considered
Infoblox DDI supports services across hybrid platforms and the capability to switch from appliances to VMs has added to the mobility of the applications. Setting up two grids(Internal and external) helps manage and segment the network in scopes of DNS and DHCP and apply firewall security policies over our external caching grid members.
