ITProTV is an elearning platform that aims to allow you to ditch the boring slide shows and start really learning IT. The training is more like a talk show -- you’ll watch your ‘edutainer’ engage with a host and an online audience to create a better-than-classroom experience that you and your team will look forward to watching. The vendor says new content is added every day and the course library has more than 3,300 hours covering all of the major certification courses (e.g. CompTIA,…N/A

Considered Both Products
ITProTV
Chose ITProTV
This service was recommended by Network Chuk who is a YouTuber in the IT field. I have not used other products.
Chose ITProTV
Obvious focus on quality content, entertaining, more value for the investment (both time and money). I've also used Cybrary, Trainsignal, and some others that I cannot currently recall. That is likely because ITProTV really stands head and shoulders above the others.

The …
Chose ITProTV
I have not used any other online learning services like ITPro.TV before so am unable to provide a comparison I am afraid.
Chose ITProTV
I use all these for my training. ITProTV for the labs and practice exams and everything else as an alternative outlook or segmented training. Some teaching may be expressed differently allowing for me to better grasp the concepts.
Chose ITProTV
We have used multiple other trainings in the past, like Microsoft's own free training and certification that is available online. We've also found ourselves "you-tubing" training videos and tutorials (who doesn't?). Rather than hope that the YouTube video got it right, we can …
Chose ITProTV
Lynda.com and pluralsight.com. ITPROtv is less formal and easier to interact. I feel more welcome at ITPROtv.
Chose ITProTV
Previously my team used the Microsoft on demand training which has everything you could ever dream of from Microsoft in the same format as ITProTV. It did have the latest and greatest Microsoft training because it is Microsoft, but it only had Microsoft and nothing more. The …
Chose ITProTV
Other providers of IT learning materials are dry and lack the labs/study guides for exam prep that I have found on ITProTV.

While it's nice to be able to instantly share your LinkedIn Learning certificates/badges to your LinkedIn profile, that's about the only advantage LinkedIn has over Udemy. LinkedIn is busy, bulky, and surprisingly lean on the back end. Udemy was both simple to use and …
Chose Udemy Business
Udemy Business offers a far superior selection of software development courses compared to other platforms.
Chose Udemy Business
I’ve explored other learning platforms like Coursera, LinkedIn Learning, Adobe Learning, MasterClass, BBC Maestro, and Skillshare. Each has its strengths. Coursera’s accredited programs are great for formal education, LinkedIn Learning has solid business and leadership content, …
Chose Udemy Business
Udemy Business has a video explanation with examples as well, whereas that site doesn't. Video explanations are actually better for easy learning.
Chose Udemy Business
Udemy Business has a wide range of course options to engage with, but a diverse mix of content creators.
LinkedIn Learning content is generally well-produced and creators are vetted, which gives more assurance of quality.
Zoho Learn is a fairly simple platform within the Zoho …

Chose Udemy Business
Udemy Business has a more "fun" brand. However, LinkedIn learning has higher quality courses and instructors. The videos are professionally shot, the editing is great, and the sound quality is good. In my opinion, some of the courses/instructors on Udemy Business are …
Chose Udemy Business
Udemy Business is a lot cheaper, but I believe you get what you pay for.
Some of the other sites are more professional while Udemy Business is cheap and cheerful, more for individuals than for serious companies.
Chose Udemy Business
I would put Udemy for Business above Coursera and Udacity but below LinkedIn Learning as LinkedIn Learning provides better personalization experience. I'm assuming this is because LinkedIn has data about my profession and certifications and hence they are able to recommend …

Chose Udemy Business
I'd say Udemy is the best, or amongst the best, because it has so much content, is easy to use, and integrates with large businesses quite well.
Chose Udemy Business
We selected Udemy for Business because it offered such an enormous variety of courses that are relevant to software development. While Pluralsight offers a large selection too, it's often not as specific on a given topic as Udemy for Business is, and moreover, the courses on …

Udemy is a solid overall platform for learning online. It has a wide variety of courses with very professional instructors. I would rate Udemy near the top over other competitors, like Pluralsight.

Before Udemy, we would have to look for a suitable trainer. After that we have to check the schedule of the trainer and wait for them to go to our office. Also, later o, if you have new staff members joining the team, the process might start again. With Udemy for Business, …

ITProTV is GREAT for smaller teams looking for a cost effective solution to help their team members skill-up and stay up-to-date on current tech and certifications. It's equally good for larger teams who wish to have a ready available resource for their team members to access and train. The ability to stream to multiple platforms (desktop/laptop, mobile, smartTV, etc.) means that you can access the content anywhere. If a team is only acessing the content infrequently or doesn't need the Transcender practice tests then an individual plan may be best. If there is only one technology that a team is focusing on (Apple certification, MCSA certification, etc.) then this may not be the most cost effective solution.

Enrolling is very easy and [accessible], courses are varied and quite intriguing, the specifics of every course given are quite useful for current businesses because you can educate your colleagues or your team through this tool and hit the ground running. This is very simple, online courses are super easy to access and very well programmed. The speed of the courses is also [adequate].

Pros
  • Training videos broken down into reasonable times to make it easier to fit them into an already busy day
  • Transcripts --> sometimes it is more than a little helpful to quickly scan back through a transcript for a bit of information rather than trying to scrub through the video to find it
  • The Practice Labs and Exams --> this alone is incredibly helpful and would cost quite a bit if purchased on their own.

Cons
  • Only complaint and which keeps me from giving a 10 rating is that I like to watch the videos on a TV. And only Amazon Firestick and Apple TV apps are supported at this time. I think a compatible Android TV app is needed.

  • One of the biggest problems of this platform is the credibility of their certificates because they are not endorsed and don't have the support of a university as other platforms do.
  • Anyone can upload a course, so sometimes you will have a bunch of options, but you really don’t know which one is the best for you among all of them.
  • Another thing that I don’t like about Udemy is that the platform is not very well organized, everything looks crowded.

Using ITProTV has been a cakewalk. Not once have I wished that we went with a different vendor. The content stays updated. My technicians are improving their skills. We can train when we need it and access the content required. We are improving all the way around.... why wouldn't I want to renew?

Usability

First, creating custom courses was super easy and intuitive (unlike with their main competitor). Second, using Udemy to take courses was also intuitive and simple. Finally, though, the kicker for what makes Udemy super useful is its reporting and analytics. Again, Udemy's main competitor surprisingly lacks a ton of features related to reporting. I miss Udemy!

Support Rating
Let me start with... their chat really works. You aren't chatting with a bot. When we first looked into purchasing ITProTV, I opened a chat on their site. One of their sales people, Brandon, contacted me quickly and by phone. I totally thought I was chatting with a computer, then the phone rang and Brandon introduced himself. I was blown away. Then, on the two occasions when I contact support, I did it through the chat. Not only did my problem get resolved quickly, a tech named Jessica followed up via email a couple days later to make sure the issues hadn't continued. Fantastic!

I haven't had to contact Udemy for Business for support reasons. I gave a 10 here because of it's availability across numerous platforms: Web, Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, even smart-tv apps make it trivially convenient to do some learning wherever you are. This helps my reports engage better with their learning, especially if they prefer to defer the training until the couch at home after work. It just makes for great user experience.

Obvious focus on quality content, entertaining, more value for the investment (both time and money). I've also used Cybrary, Trainsignal, and some others that I cannot currently recall. That is likely because ITProTV really stands head and shoulders above the others. The continuous improvements that are functional, practical, and customer focused keep me coming back and also I can feel confident when writing reviews like this or recommending to others. There are few companies these days that I feel comfortable making such statements about.

  • Udemy for Business easily pays for itself compared to traditional training solutions. Given the breadth of courses it offers, it will make up its costs in short order.
  • My team is more engaged with learning, now having a large and "freely" available library of course content. This enables them to explore and learn at their own pace, which is a huge benefit to the company - they are always learning things that could be applicable in the future.
  • As I mentioned before, I'd caution against Udemy for Business in settings where the students will need to ask a lot of question or get some immediate feedback. It can be challenging for students approaching a new skill to do so without real-time support.
