Trint uses artificial intelligence to power its web-based automated transcription platform. Audio and video files are uploaded to Trint’s online software and then transcribed using automated speech recognition. The Trint Editor is the marriage of a text editor to an audio/video player: the transcribed text is “stitched” to the audio or video file, making it simple to search, verify and edit the machine-generated transcripts. Users can instantly time the length of their soundbites. They can…

memoQ
Chose memoQ
MemoQ is useful in its own ways. It was the first CAT tool I have ever used, so my proficiency is higher in this regard. The QA process seems to be lighter and smoother, allowing for a fast review of the work in question, with a good and trusting spellcheck feature.
Chose memoQ
I believe memoQ is the best of these 3 tools. It has soo much functionality. I wish I could use it for all my projects, but we have a lot of clients that want to use either Memsource or SDL Trados Studio. As for the Web Editor, our translators seem to prefer Memsource over …
Chose memoQ
I like MemoQ because there is a good amount of choices of service and engineering support. Memsource accepts lots of different file types as a source file. Like Memsource and Trados, you can install different connectors to your CMS and process your files smoothly. I would …
Chose memoQ
We are using memoQ for only certain projects and it’s not our main tool. It’s relatively slow and sometimes it can get too complicated. It does the job in the end but we prefer Memsource because of its easy-to-use interface as time is very important for us as project managers.

MemoQ is especially useful when working in tandem with established translation agencies. The network access is one of the best and allows users to collaborate in projects easily. I would recommend memoQ in that manner, as I have always found it very intuitive and easy to use. All functionalities provided are a must for translators in the industry.

It consequently translates sound from all record designs and produces a shareable and editable transcript. The interface of Trint is decent and works really hard in interpreting the content. It can also be used when taking an interview of an individual from a different language background. Here and there the record of certain dialects contains botches which are then rectified by the actual persons.

Cons
  • Selection of multiple segments is not possible (you can select multiple segments that are following each other by holding down the shift key but not randomly selected segments by holding the Ctrl key or so).
  • Make it easier to use filter configurations of a file already used in a project when adding a new file of the same type.

Alternatives Considered
I believe memoQ is the best of these 3 tools. It has soo much functionality. I wish I could use it for all my projects, but we have a lot of clients that want to use either Memsource or SDL Trados Studio. As for the Web Editor, our translators seem to prefer Memsource over memoQ, so this might be something memoQ can improve in the future.
