The Motive Card! In the world of vehicle telematics there are multiple players that all have very similar capabilities and products are all very similar. The true tipping point for us as a business was the Motive Card. The potential fraud prevention and simplified tracking of …
Our company used Qualcomm before getting Motive several years ago. Unfortunately, I was not working with the ELDs at that point. However, the majority of drivers say they like Motive more than Qualcomm. We have stayed with Motive due to its features, user support, and …
Geotab is purchased through a reseller, which can limit our ability to customize the tool and have the functionality we require. Pricing is similar. Motive offers dashcams that have better overall functionality and integration with accessories.
This is the first time we looked into fleet management. So we do not have any experience with other providers. I can say we are very happy with our decision to go with Motive.
Customer service is much better at Motive. The ease of use for the drivers is much better and the staff of Motive is readily available to help and quickly resolve any issues.
My last company used Omnitracs, it was a dinosaur. The equipment was near impossible to use interchangeably between trucks and the system was very clunky.

Onfleet has become the chosen software for managing in-house delivery operations as a fleet management solution. Onfleet is also used by couriers and delivery service providers (DSPs), in addition to in-house fleets. Couriers appreciate having Onfleet as their secret weapon …
Motive makes it easy to just plug the ELD and dashcams in, connect via bluetooth and have the driver up and running quickly. The interface is user friendly and even the most technologically challenged driver is able to make use of the application with ease. Training time on the ELD has been cut to less than an hour, versus multiple hours with competitors.
Where this really saved us is that we have a piece of software that is cutting edge when it comes to building and supply. This tracker was point point to the second accurate as to where our driver was when the the gps on our software said it was missing, this made the decision to keep this product in perpetuity.
AI event detection is top notch (We trialed side by side with Samsara)
Tech forward. Motive is moving in the right direction and they deploy a lot of resources to get them there. Their road map is why we partnered with them.
Motive are true partners. From flexibility and support on the trial to contract negotiations, through implementation we have really been given the white glove treatment. It really is hard for me to say anything negative about my experience.
When looking at warehouses, consider not only the rent but also how close you are to your consumers. In the long term, the latter may save you a lot more money by reducing delivery times, costs, and fuel consumption.
To cover more land and be closer to more customers, your warehouses and fulfillment facilities should be widely distributed. Many businesses maintain an East and West warehouse, at the very least, to allow them to deliver items to customers on opposite ends of the coast more quickly.
Route design can significantly reduce delivery times.
Onfleet recommends the most effective delivery routes by automatically factoring for time, location, truck capacity, and traffic. Any real-time traffic updates that may affect these routes are given to drivers through SMS, reducing travel time and empowering drivers.
Onfleet makes this easy by automatically assigning deliveries to your drivers. It works by looking at all of your drivers who are now "on the clock" or "active." It then selects an available driver in close proximity to the delivery.
It essentially means that you can't unintentionally assign the same item to many drivers, or assign too much or too little to any single driver. You can set limits, such as two tasks per driver, which will force them to leave.
Keep consumers updated with regular updates throughout the delivery process to keep them up to date on their package's progress.
This benefits both the consumer and the driver because it ensures that the customer will be present at the time and location of delivery.
I had issues with adding another company to my fleet to track them while they were driving for my company.
I had issues when I first started using Motive with the install. Motive assisted with a talk through method, but it still didn't work. I ended up taking the truck to the shop 3x before they figured out the problem. So, I would like to see Techs nearby to assist with technical issues.
Onfleet is amazing. What I love the most is that after the 2 years that I've been working on this software, I had no problems or issues. It was easy to edit information to drivers' routes, add on, etc. Good overall software, easy to use.
The software's least appealing feature was that it indicated that an order would be late when, in fact, all we needed to do was refresh the drivers profile so that times could be altered.
When signing into Motive upon entering and starting motor vehicle, the app and the transmitting unit pair immediately. Once paired it is extremely easy and efficiently started to populate the necessary unit information. Then entering the Work Order info is seamlessly entered to the E- log. Doing the pre and post vehicle checks is completed quite accurately.
We have had a couple of issues with some GPSs not working properly. One is down right now, and we have to get it replaced because the GPS has already stopped working. Another was a cord issue. Otherwise, they have been working great with no issues.
Even after using the product for multiple years, Motive continues to have follow-up calls with us to ensure we are taking full advantage of the functionality offered, to show us new tools and modules that are being released, and to help solve any issues or troubleshooting that may be required.
Onfleet has given great support and worked with our organization when we're trying to figure out a solution or work through a glitch. Their team seems small, personable, and laid-back. Sometimes there is a delay/wait after contacting support, but the answers are always thorough and the problems are usually solved.
The ease of use and features Motive had to offer were hands down a better product. We work with the Motive team providing feedback and constantly feel as if we are building the product with them rather than working with what we have.

The speeding data allowed us to create a speeding policy almost a year ago. We went from 5-10 drivers/week "breaking" our policy to 0-2 drivers/week "breaking" it. We have also noticed fewer challenging braking events due to fewer drivers speeding.
On more than one occasion, the video footage has saved us after the accident. In one instance, I was able to send the camera footage to the Trooper while on the scene of the accident, clearing us from any wrongdoing before the police even left the scene.
