Chose Notified Public Relations Solutions with GlobeNewswire
We have only ever used GlobeNewswire and have had such success that we don't feel the need to evaluate competitors or switch to another solution in over 5 years.
Chose Notified Public Relations Solutions with GlobeNewswire
We've always used GlobeNewswire because it is consistent and gets the job done well. We've never experimented with other products similar to them.
Chose Notified Public Relations Solutions with GlobeNewswire
Cision appears to have more robust capabilities than MyMediaInfo and for our firm, it made more sense to have our media list building, release distribution and coverage tracking all in one place with Cision. Ultimately, we decided to move our coverage tracking to Cision. Cision …
Chose Notified Public Relations Solutions with GlobeNewswire
In 2016, I did an evaluation of other news distribution websites to see how they compared. While Marketwired has its flaws with customer service and a less-than-ideal online platform, it was far more cost-effective than the competitors.

A lot of the competitors were more …
Chose Notified Public Relations Solutions with GlobeNewswire
We have found both marketwired and business wire to be very similar - our use for each typically depends on the client or target audience. (business wire seems to fit better for our more financial-type clients.)
Chose Notified Public Relations Solutions with GlobeNewswire
I find Marketwired comparable to slightly better than CNW and Business Wire. For smaller companies listed on the TSX Venture, CSE or OTC, their money is better spent on TheNewswire.com.
TVEyes
Chose TVEyes
TVEyes offers better pricing and easier access when compared to the Critical Mention platform. It's also easier to use and faster. Cision and Meltwater just don't offer the same depth of access to coverage as TVEyes. TrendKite is a complementary piece of software we use …

This service might be more well suited for large corporations with a lot of press coverage that they need to get out on a very regular basis. GlobeNewswire may be much less appropriate for smaller organizations that cannot commit to the annual spend of the contract and adhere to its strict nature and aren't sending out regular releases. Note that they did not work with us on contract flexibility once signed, so just be sure that you will fully utilize the service and really stay on top of the cancellation date because if you miss it, you will be automatically locked in for another year. Thus for smaller companies it will be best to stick to an a-la-carte service that will be flexible and work with you on your changing needs. That is definitely not GlobeNewswire.

Simply put, TVEyes is a wonderful monitoring suite that enables us to quickly access broadcast clips from campaigns we run on behalf of our clients. It's far more efficient than the old-school tape delivery companies, but it does have room for improvement. If you're running a campaign that's likely to result in broadcast coverage, TVEyes is probably the best option for monitoring and reporting. The same holds true if you are running a paid media campaign that includes added-value broadcast elements.

  • TVEyes has a powerful search function that allows us to narrow searches for specific clients and/or campaigns by keyword.
  • TVEyes affords us the ability to access and download a clip with relative ease, no matter what market or station the clip is from.
  • TVEyes provides metrics for the sake of reporting, which enables us to quickly provide insights to clients on the success of a campaign.

Cons
  • Marketwired has recently changed its online platform. It is more complex than necessary. I used it many times and still often had to call the help desk for advice. Sometimes there would be 'bugs' in the system that were out of my control and even the help desk struggled to resolve it.
  • I used to simply email the news release & photos to the help desk and they'd get it out for me on time. It was effective and I appreciated the excellent customer service. Now the help desk are no longer allowed to distribute on a client's behalf, which is frustrating - even if you struggle using the online system.
  • The section of the online platform I found most confusing was around which media a news story would be distributed too. There are a lot of choices and it wasn't obvious to me as to how they were sub-divided. I often had to check with the help desk to ensure I'd made the best selection for the news story.
  • The level of customer service has declined. My account manager who previously provided excellent service was moved to another role as part of an internal restructure. Many team members at my agency voiced frustrations with the level of customer care.

  • The clip editing feature, while useful and important, is fairly clunky. There could be an improvement in the way you fine-tune what you need.
  • Downloading clips is a multi-step process that could be far less involved.

TVEyes offers better pricing and easier access when compared to the Critical Mention platform. It's also easier to use and faster. Cision and Meltwater just don't offer the same depth of access to coverage as TVEyes. TrendKite is a complementary piece of software we use in-house for media monitoring, and they just partnered with TVEyes for broadcast coverage, so there's a lot of consistency in what we're monitoring and reporting.

Return on Investment
  • Circulates news on our company which raises credibility for us in the industry and to clients.
  • Being able to use our releases as a resource to point to have had a positive impact on our social media presence.

  • It's essential to be able to share coverage with clients, and clients can be impatient. TVEyes gives us the ability to access and share a clip quickly. That keeps clients happy.
  • The cost of the subscription is fairly low in exchange for the ability to access a universal broadcast coverage platform like TVEyes.
