Toggle was confusing. I couldn't figure out how to work a task within a project and would mix up tracking different tasks along with projects. I didn't understand why tagging is needed. Paymo was super easy and intuitive, and I didn't want to bother spending time to learn how …
Chose Paymo
Paymo has a lot more features and is more flexible than TSheets.
Chose Paymo
Similar in almost all project management aspects... Paymo seems to have a slight edge in invoicing and reporting. They are also adding new features regularly so that (in our opinion) makes the investment worth it. Customer support has also been terrific. Easy onboarding process …
Chose Paymo
We still use Trello and Slack, but Basecamp and Hubspot are too much for our operation to manage or integrate. Paymo is missing some of the tracking features of HubSpot and isn't as universally used as Basecamp but we've been with them for 8 years and they seem to know what …
Chose Paymo
More robust than apps like Harvest with a more user-friendly time tracking interface.
Chose Paymo
Paymo lets me track to the minute - even going back to add in time that I wasn't able to track via the app. This has been wonderful as clients might call with something quick but when I'm not able to turn on the tracker, yet I'm still able to appear to them as if I was sitting …

Chose Square Invoices
I feel that for what it does, Square Invoices outperforms its competition. Because we have used the program for several years, we have seen how they continue to improve their service - making it user-friendly and accessible for a variety of needs. Other platforms are not as …
Chose Square Invoices
PayPal payments is not nearly as user-friendly as Square Invoices, and payments are only near instant when the recipient of your invoice has a PayPal account. Of course, there is no fee associated with invoicing if your client has a PayPal account, but it's very rare that …
Chose Square Invoices
Square Invoices is easier to use and automatically transfers your money to your bank account vs Paypal that holds your money and you have to manually transfer and it takes 3-5 days (many times more). Square Invoices looks better overall, and for the same fees as Paypal, …
Chose Square Invoices
I have not used any other invoicing software or service to compare Square invoices to.
Chose Square Invoices
Experience with Stripe in another business. Does not allow custom items on invoices without the use of third-party add-ons.
Chose Square Invoices
I love Square Invoices because it's streamline and easy to use. It makes it really easy to print reports and sync to quickbooks if needed.

Well suited: tracking time, making notes to share with clients, live reporting. Less so: tracking and bookkeeping - they don't market it as a bookkeeping app, though they do allow for invoicing through it. Still, my needs are such that I use a separate app for tracking receipts against a project and then invoicing clients.

Square Invoices is the best service that I have found for what it does: it's easy to use, nice to look at, and never seems to go to spam or be lost by clients. Clients mention that the setup is easier than services my competitors use. You can even attach your contract to the invoice, which is wonderful in case there are questions later on. Unfortunately, not being able to have clients alter quantities or select add-ons means for half of my services, I have to use a different, inferior service.

Pros
  • Time tracking. As long as you set up everything correctly on the front end, you don't have to think about it again and it will run in the background.
  • Job management. Organizes jobs intuitively and can easily archive jobs.
  • Support. If you ever have an issue or questions, they have a chat feature and will usually respond in a couple hours.

  • Very easy-to-use. Even non-technical users can very easily figure out how to send an invoice.
  • Notifications of payment. You can see if the invoice has been viewed, and you can include attachments to the invoice (such as a contract)!
  • Quick payouts straight to your bank account make life easy.
  • Easy to use mobile app for on the go.

Cons
  • The main area for improvement is exportability of data. It's tough to get full data out of Paymo. You can export most things in CSV format, but if you were to start with Paymo and want to switch to another project management and accounting platform, there would be substantial manual effort involved.
  • There also aren't as many integrations for Paymo as some of the more mainstream project management suites. This isn't necessarily Paymo's fault. It's just a function of them still being one of the "little guys." Something to be aware of before you select this platform though.

Usability
It is a complete, a bit overambitious app but with many features that are needed. I didn't need most of the features but managed to make the most of the two I was using. Also, I think it is a well-rounded app and I am considering moving some team collab there.

Good! Fast, excellent, speedy responses. They always wanted to know why and how they could improve on something (good on receiving feedback, too). Not that they were much needed, but my limited experience with them is good; they were really keen to understand what the problem was really about and how they could help with it.

The only time I had a problem was a false chargeback from a client. Square Invoices referenced our contract and ruled in my favor, and they did so in a timely manner. I sent them the contract and my email history with the client, and they quickly unfroze the amount of money.

  • The fee for invoicing is extremely reasonable for how easy it is. At 2.75% per transaction, it's well worth it.
  • I like that invoices can be printed and mailed or sent via email for easy online payment.
  • I have a 100% collection rate on my invoices, and they are often paid within 24-48 hours of being sent, which saves me the time of chasing down checks, which can be especially cumbersome when I have multiple clients.
