Chose Cision PRWeb
Better overall network and experience with Cision PR Web. The attention to the local media and their willingness to update the database on our request is what gave us the level of trust that we had in Cision PRWeb.
To be honest, there weren't that many options for media tracking and media databases. Cision was one of the biggest platforms and we got into a groove working with them.
It is not an "either-or" situation. If a company really wants to put a release out on the wire, one service might be better suited for it than the other. For when a company wants to target certain countries or vertical markets (e.g. Latin America), PR Newswire would be the …
As a whole Cision aligns with our business needs much better than the other platforms. Their media database is more robust and user-friendly. It has allowed or organization to better scale our media outreach.
I've used all these services. Which one to choose depends on the situation. It's good to have knowledge of all the options. Of course, there are many other services as well, and even free services that a very small business or nonprofit can use that do similar things.
I think you have to do what's best for your business needs. I know there are free news distributors but I'm not sure how good they are. There are also ones that are most expensive than PRWeb. If you primarily do business in the US then give PRWeb a try but if you have a lot of …
I've used some of the big names in the business, but their price tag isn't within sight for many of my clients. PRUnderground is the best solution I've found for SMB's and professionals who want a budget-friendly yet effective distribution.
We have run several national PR campaigns over the past couple of years and Cision PRWeb makes it easy to distribute the releases and publications pick them up with is a testament to Cision's industry trust credibility. With just a few clicks, the release is set up and ready to deliver at a time of our choice.
We were impressed with the price point and coverage last year on one or two of our releases. They would approve them and we would get a email alert as well as a report sent to us. All of that was missing on the latest release, no idea it was ever approved or released, I found. Furthermore the distribution of the release was almost all US for some reason, not helpful at all. In my opinion, it feels like they are less attentive to their customers, yet increased their prices recently. I believe, the interface is old and outdated which would put off most people, but we were happy regardless when it worked.
PRUnderground offers exceptional customer service. When I e-mail their team with a question or concern, I always receive a response within a few hours.
PRUnderground offers an unbeatable value. I've researched various distribution platforms, and this one offers the best of both worlds: effectiveness and affordability.
PRUnderground is a white-label distribution service with proven reach. My clients enjoy receiving 12-page placement reports with live links.
I wish you didn't have to pay for every extra thing. Sometimes it comes off like the people with the most money will be the ones that get their news seen.
It would be nice to geo-target globally. Right now, PRWeb only lets you select certain major MSAs in the US.
We are unlikely to renew PRWeb because I feel that the costs outweigh the benefits of the service. For a company like ours (small business with about 60 employees) we don't have enough press that warrants monthly coverage. We may look at using PRWeb on an as needed basis, 3-4 times a year for single submissions, but that would be the extent of it. I could see PRWeb being much more beneficial for large companies that are constantly needing to issue press.
I have only required support from PRWeb on two separate occasions and they handled my issues without any problems. I was a bit confused at first not sure if they had received my requests but shortly after I received responses and was able to move forward with my press release.

I mentioned that a client of mine for which we used PRWeb is now in talks with a potential reselling partner - so that could have a major impact on their business.
It's always good to have the news out there to as wide an audience as possible. While pitching the news directly to reporters should be part of the PR plan for any announcement, issuing it via a service like PRWeb is usually a good idea.
PRWeb can help more reporters see your news. There are times when a reporter might see the press release via PRWeb and contact the company. Of course, news articles help add credibility and drive more traffic and more business.
