MailChimp is a traditional email marketing tool. However, it is extremely limited in e-commerce integration. It is not possible to send automatic emails with targeted products based on the previous history or customer's behavior on the website.
We evaluated several apps for email marketing and automation and we selected Remarkety for its inbuilt eCommerce functionality. The other solutions were more general in nature, missing that seamless integration with eCommerce stores selling physical products.
When it comes to serving Ads, Doubleclick does a better job with QA and handling creative in my opinion. However the tagging system is more diverse and handy in Sizmek.
For me the main point here is the support, all the adservers offer more or less the same functionality and capabilities. The real advantage you will gain using Sizmek will be their customer support team and their open approach with other vendors.

If you need a prompt support for any kind of issue, those guys really rock. I opened tickets on Friday evening getting things fixed in less than an hour. That's a critical point for demanding clients. The main weaknesses in my opinion are the user interface that is not so user friendly and the integration with Google products. This is in place but, mainly due to Google's walled garden, the environment is not so efficient.
