Square for Retail bundles payment process and point of sale (PoS), as well as vendor and inventory management features, for small retailers. A free trial is available.
We didn't evaluate too many other options before deciding to move forward with Square for Retail. For us, the platform was a well-rounded package that offered everything we were looking for up-front without having to include multiple add-ons to the system. It truly just fits …
From my experience, Square for Retail is a bit easier to implement. Braintree has a longer application process and you may not be accepted to use it for your online transactions. Square for Retail has a much shorter application process and as far as I know thee is no review …
Square is just the first to get into the game. It's also easier to complete a transaction in person, while Apple Pay and Google Pay are better suited for self-serve online transactions.
I would rather use Square while I am out shopping. I would prefer to use Apple Pay or Google …
Stripe is more suited for internet or online order forms and businesses for which it integrates. It works well and same as Square with similar fees. Stripe however does not send a physical card reader by default and is not as large of a company. We chose Square due to the …
Square for Retail offers just about everything that the competitors offered, and does so with a more attractive, all-inclusive package. We chose Square for Retail due to the myriad of plugins available, from Dashboard to Appointments, to Estimates and Invoicing, Square for …
I have looked at some other options, but Square continually won out for ease of use, cost, and functionality. I'm so glad that it is basically with me wherever I go.
It will suit simple small size businesses like mom and pop shops. For a mid-sized retail company with more than 100 stores, it runs way too slow and lacks a lot of functions.
Square for retail is great to use alongside WooCommerce to accept credit card payments on your e-commerce website.
Square for Retail works with a very easy to use card scanner that works with your phone, so it is great if you are selling items at an event like a conference, a farmers market, or an art fair. It is very easy and useful for the small business person who wants easy credit card processing either in person or online.
Always crashes. Runs very slow. Part of this is because it does not fit the size of our company anymore.
Lack of capability to integrate with accounting software. We have to use Access tool to pull sales journal data from Retail Pro, then import to our accounting software.
This may just be me, but I want some additional customizations for our biggest annual fundraiser, so that we can differentiate between donations, chance drawings, etc.
First thing, all of my business users are happy with the usability and reliability of retail pro. Users are able to get what they want to run the business positively. We are able to customize the solution any time based on the business requirements. Finally after working on different solutions we found a solution that works with little support.
Retail pro is a solution which needs minimum support, so we can concentrate on other productive work. Worst case if there is any problem our well trained Zimson team is able to handle it on time. Thanks Retail Pro for its world class support and training system. No wonder why all top retail brands use Retail Pro for its POS operations.
Square for Retail offers just about everything that the competitors offered, and does so with a more attractive, all-inclusive package. We chose Square for Retail due to the myriad of plugins available, from Dashboard to Appointments, to Estimates and Invoicing, Square for Retail provides just about everything we could hope for, with a predictable, and reasonable bill attached. From the predictability of our period's processing fees to the flexibility of the software and all of [its] possible plugins, Square for Retail was the obvious winner.
