We have moved our process to Paylocity, which is our payroll vendor. Although Paylocity does not offer as much customization as STS did, it is much easier to use and fits the bill for us.
I don't think it stacks up that great. I've used the program almost 4 years now and aside from a redesign to the Home Page, it's still the same program underneath the hood. For example, the Goals now appear as gauges rather than written text, but when you click on the goal - it …
I think Saba TalentSpace suits small to mid-size organizations looking for a tool to start out with. The product is less overwhelming then some of the major players out there and the price is very competitive. The performance tool is its star player but the LMS is competent …
Since I have been at HACC we have only ever used Halogen, so I don't really have anything else to compare it to. My other jobs were not jobs were yearly evaluations were done.
Saba was the only company that had all the performance management features we needed. We also like the appraisal process within Saba as we can track where the process is. Also it is helpful that all the performance management elements are housed in one system. Previously we had …
When I switched jobs - Saba was at my current location. I enjoy systems and looked forward to learning Halogen. We had a trainer come on site and she was fabulous. I entered the position literally 60 days before the appraisals were scheduled to be released. She prepared me …
Halogen stacks up against Paycom because it is a global solution. Paycom is only used for the U.S. because it is a payroll system that cannot be extended globally.
I have searched other systems and viewed other demos. Every other system has some negatives. The main questions are always: does the area we require exist and at what cost? We have most of what is needed with Halogen. However, as other companies have started to advance in their …
Better than ADP, not quite at the level of Workday. However Workday does not accommodate smaller organizations nor provide as strong of an implementation team. ADP doesn't come close to either system.
We previewed Cornerstone as a part of our selection process and found Halogen to appear more robust, more end-user friendly and to provide more professional service throughout our engagement with them during the assessment process.
I have used other systems in the past and I like that Halogen provides everything in one space. I would like to see a more developed way to report training, not in the LMS, but I think that for the most part that Halogen is a robust system that is superior to its competition.
This is the only product we've used like this at our company. We looked at SABA to switch learning platforms but ultimately decided against it due to not wanting to have people go to two different platforms where they currently go to one. I am not sure what other products were …
I have not used another talent management software. Out of the software that we evaluated, Halogen was the best for our size and where we as an organization.
We have had them for a long time. When it came time to review we considered the long term relationship and being a unique business, how they already understood us.
The only other training platform similar to Mindflash that I have used is RedVector. However, we use that platform entirely differently than Mindflash. RedVector has a very large available library for our users to stay current on their PDU/education credits for their PE and …
The ease of use for both learners and administrators in Mindflash is unbeatable in my opinion. The system may not have all the fancy bells and whistles that Cornerstone or Litmos has but we didn’t need all that and honestly, it was all getting in the way.
This is an alternate software that we have looked into, right now we don't have the need for the increased flexibility that lesson.ly provides with learning from your mobile or tablet. We haven't seen a lot of those things as particularly useful for our current training …
Our organization found Mindflash's pre-sales experience to be a lot smoother than its competitors. Ultimately, we felt their software was easier to use and had more business functions than other options. They provided one on one information calls, webinars and quotes for our …
Our priorities are ease of use, economy and flexibility. Skillsoft was too content-heavy. It would have been good had we only been interested in ready-made content. Their content just didn't meet our needs. Cornerstone was too expensive, too complicated and would have required …
I feel like I've looked at them all. For my unique needs at Responsys, MindFlash was the right solution. Some of the key attributes that I was looking for were: Usability, Ramp time of my team to learn how to use the product, Dependability of the product, Cost, Ability to build …

Learning Management
Comparison of Learning Management features of Product A and Product B
I think it's a good platform for tracking and monitoring goals, feedback, and development. We don't use the 1:1 meeting feature, however, I can see how that would be valuable for many organizations. I do like that it is very customizable, however, that also presents problems in that sometimes forms and/or processes can be a bit challenging to create easily and quickly.
I believe Mindflash is perfect for corporate training in any industry. It's quick, efficient and provides an unprecedented platform to provide training information digitally. Especially when you do not have enough resources to provide in-person training that requires detailed attention covering a massive territory.
I think their Support Center is great! All of their Customer Service Representatives are knowledgeable, friendly, and able to troubleshoot any and all issues I've had in the past. I am very impressed with the breadth of knowledge that each representative has - every time I've called them, they were able to resolve my problem.
Halogen's dashboard is very user-friendly. The dashboard allows the user to sort, filter, and manipulate data in order to create compelling reports.
Version 18 of Halogen looks very sleek and is user-friendly. With simple instruction, employees are able to log in, enter their goals, and review their performance using the navigation menu on the left. Also from an administrator's perspective, it is very easy to navigate on the back-end.
When creating Evaluation Processes the limitations around the number of Goals that will push over to the form can be frustrating to some departments/positions. Only the first 10 will automatically come over.
The ability to attach any Documents that you have saved within Halogen should have a way to link to any Feedback that is entered in through Feedback Central.
The file size of and media that is attached to a Learning Activity or Path could be increased to accommodate more elaborate videos/presentations.
Admin: They only allow one admin account, which can be a headache. Instead of logging into my personal Mindflash I log into a shared user, that makes and assigns all the videos.
Agent UI: It isn't the prettiest UI and can be hard to navigate for beginners.
Certificates: The certificates for passing a course are just dumb. I have them all turned off and I could never see that being useful.
At this point, I would also love to see what other systems have to offer. But we have gotten to a place in which our employee population understands the system, our HR Managers can all use the back end, and for the most part it works for our staff. I am always very pleased with Halogen's customer support, constant upgrades, and think the system is continuously improving and have been pleased-to-date.
I am extremely likely to continue using Mindflash for a few reasons. One, Mindflash has increased its capabilities dramatically during the year that I have been using it. Like any good business or service provider, Mindflash seems to have the desire to constantly improve its users experience. I know in another year, Mindflash will be better than it is today. For example, I know that Mindflash is at least exploring the possibility of adding language support to its capabilities. As someone who works in many non-English speaking countries, this would be a huge benefit to me. Additionally, I have been very impressed by Mindflash's customer service. They have always been very helpful and gracious.
Halogen is very intuitive and provides very clean work-space ... lots of white space and modern layouts. There is more than one way to accomplish your action, too!
The interface is just so simple to understand. It's clean and efficient. We showed Mindflash off to the Safety group, who are not computer gurus and they were beyong excited to use it.
We only purchased the appraisal module and without the other modules offered, you are really limited in what you can do and the process becomes much more involved with needing to maintain information across multiple platforms. We found that they charge for everything and call it "consulting." We poured so much money and time into a system that was just overkill for what we really needed.
Any problems or questions we have had with Mindflash have been handled promptly and effectively. I normally use the online chat option but have had to correspond with them through email and phone as well. We have never had an issue languish for weeks or months with Mindflash. They either fix the problem or let you know that the software isn't capable to handle the need at that point.
If you're going to develop a short course to demo the product internally, don't bother avoiding your own topics. Mindflash rolls whatever content you create during the trial into your production environment when you decide to buy. The time taken to go from not having a system to being live with Mindflash is virtually instant. What you'll be wanting for is time to develop content and people to test it out.
I have used other systems in the past and I like that Halogen provides everything in one space. I would like to see a more developed way to report training, not in the LMS, but I think that for the most part that Halogen is a robust system that is superior to its competition.
The only other training platform similar to Mindflash that I have used is RedVector. However, we use that platform entirely differently than Mindflash. RedVector has a very large available library for our users to stay current on their PDU/education credits for their PE and PMP licenses. It does have the option to build training within it as well, but we have not used that feature because it is more focused on providing external training for others.
Consistent goal setting and monthly 1:1 conversations across our entire company - especially as it relates to our sales teams. Consistent 1:1 dialogue and process has driven a more focused coaching conversation for a positive impact on our sales pipeline and close rate. This has been the biggest impact we have realized from the system.
On-demand learning availability for all employees. We partnered with LinkedIn Learning for content that is easily searchable and viewable by all employees at any time through the Learning platform in Halogen. Employees engaging in learning activities has significantly increased.
Mindflash has had a positive impact on our business because it allows us to train more new users with less effort, and ensure that trainees have access to the course materials for a period of time after they have started using our software to do their daily jobs. Review of the course materials allows them to get answers to common questions without having to submit requests to our support team, thereby reducing the administrative burden on our resources.
