Chose Planday
Ultimately Planday is the perfect tool for simple straightforward team time management, communication and scheduling. I would like to see a task management feature added to Planday and perhaps some integration for employee rewards. Planday is leaps and bounds above Quickbooks …
Similar to HotSchedules, Xytech and ScheduAll both are highly tailored to the TV industry, and better for our business, with Xytech as the best based on our evaluation.
This is very well suited where there is a rotating support structure with larger teams involved. Our department as a whole has 16 full-time team members, with 4 people per team. The management of absences such as annual leave, alongside busy schedules or even seasonal downtime, is a breeze with Planday.
Shiftboard is very well suited for service industries—restaurants, hospitality, etc. In those workplaces, Shiftboard should have enough ability for customization, and its mobile accessibility should be advantageous. For TV and other production environments, particularly those with frequent schedule changes, Shiftboard does not work as well, as it requires too many clicks to change a schedule.
Shiftboard can be difficult to navigate, and when an agent bookmarks the tool it stays on their schedule for that specific date, often causing confusion. For example, mine is stuck on January 27th, 2017.
It's difficult to get to your specific schedule.
The overview of schedules within one week is also very difficult to read.
Ultimately Planday is the perfect tool for simple straightforward team time management, communication and scheduling. I would like to see a task management feature added to Planday and perhaps some integration for employee rewards. Planday is leaps and bounds above Quickbooks Time, and TimeClock Plus but falls behind Deputy only slightly by having less features available. Overall I would recommend Planday to any small business owner with a team of 5-20

Wages - consistently reviewed through Planday and updated to reflect sales, busy & non busy periods
Schedules - more efficient scheduling & accurate hours logged and therefore, translated to pay - consistent and efficient monitoring by head office/ops team and managers at site level, through clock in and out system.
