Easy to categorize products.
Import/Export products.
Cart Recovery.

Cons

When you update the product name, it automatically changes the URL. I feel it is the most ridiculous feature ever, and detrimental to SEO.
No search in theme files, which requires a theme download to search. This should make it easier to use by adding a search feature.

- We manage our e-commerce store (Gold/silver jewellery) via BigCommerce platform.

- Helps with Catalogue Management, Order and Inventory Management. Since it integrates well with some marketing platforms like Mailchimp, we find it quite suitable for overall order management.

- It also has storefront module, which helps you design your own store.

Pros

Scalability : The platform's robust infra has amazed my team. We haven't faced any issues while scaling the store to upto a Million users
Multi-device Capability : The design of storefront is quite responsive, so our offering remains consistent across devices.
Wide-Range of Payment Gateway options : Quite good support for a variety of Payment methods, and that too without any additional transaction fees

Limited Room for Customization of Design Templates
Pricing Model : We hate the revenue based pricing model of BigCommerce. A concern for rapidly growing organisation like ours

We have a retail and b2b store in BigCommerce. The best part of BigCommerce is that we do not have to worry about hosting, as BigCommerce hosts it on its own server. Ease of listing , selling and payment collection is very easy. Difficulties you might face is almost all additional features can be accessed using different apps which is chargeable. Editing an invoice from the backend is quite slow process.

Hosting own in its server
easy return process and refund options

Cons

Editing the invoice from the backend need improvement
Addition of custom shipment link option
Option to give return period for each products

It is easy to set up a store, list the product, add shipments, fix the theme, and make the store live. Connect your domain directly and you are good to go. Pricing structure needs to be either with an enterprise plan or a different pricing group, which should have built-in functionality.

I have two BigCommerce websites, 1 is my ecommerce store and the other is for my senior dog rescue group. I'm also an admin and designed a 3rd site for a children's book author. The relative ease of design and features available made designing and running the sites a breeze. Being able to switch between sites from one control panel is a definite bonus.

Cons

Product drag and drop! I've been asking for this since 2016 to no avail. When the same products are in different categories it's impossible to organize them logically using the current numeric system. This is especially annoying when you are showcasing products in a holiday category that are also in other categories. Some of the products you would like at the top of the holiday category remain buried because you can't drag and drop.
Editing the appearance of invoices and packing slips is cumbersome.
Setting up coupons is not always easy and can be restrictive on what deals I want to offer. For example buying something from one category getting something from another free (like buy a pair of PJs get a pair of socks free) I don't believe it's possible to mix categories unless I just haven't figured it out. I get frustrated with the limitations because I can't be as creative as I'd like on discounts and offers.

Likelihood to Recommend

It's well suited to businesses with both small and large catalogs and there is room to grow and scale. I'm not really sure how it would be less appropriate. The site I designed for my rescue group, while it does includes a shopping section with merch to raise funds for our dogs, is mostly non commerce and it works very well and is easy to navigate giving our organization a professional look.

We use BigCommerce for our B2B and B2C webstore and shopping cart. The program is integrated with our Quick Books Online and SOS inventory ERP. We process many orders through the BC website and I manage all facets of this application within our business processes. When first selecting a platform for this complex systems integration, I searched for functionality, features, ease of integration and implementation and support. The clear winner was BigCommerce, and this app has surpassed my expectations in all factors. We were moving from a k-eCommerce managed and hosted site which was integrated with our Microsoft NAV Dynamics ERP. Because of the excessive application complexity within NAV and the k-eCommerce backend, the changeover integration was expected to be daunting. However, the clean intuitive building blocks (I had to go from square one) within BigCommerce made the design, development and integration of a new site to our new ERP platforms much smoother, easier and faster. The superb functionality of the BigCommerce App allowed me to more easily manage a broad scope of moving parts, data mapping and achieve the complete integration in a time sensitive manner.

When faced with a integration error or application issue, I have contacted support and received excellent technical help, resolution and even suggestions on how to enhance the application utility. A bonus. I can't say enough about how great the support is and the responsiveness. Unfortunately I have a full plate all day / everyday and when I need help, BC support is so easy to reach and technically knowledgeablr it saves me a ton of time.

BigCommerce was used to create our website and is used to host and update the site. The eCommerce solution makes it very easy to add new products and edit existing products. The functionality of the platform is excellent and the interface is very easy to use.

Our store uses BigCommerce to operate our online store. BigCommerce allows us to use multiple channels to market our products to the widest possible audience. The integrated inventory and numerous apps for shipping and marketing are essential to our online business. Our store does team sales for numerous local sports teams from youth sports all the way to competitive adult leagues. BigCommerce allows us to track and organize our sales efficiently.

Variable shipping options based on customer location and product dimensions.

Cons

We had difficulty integrating our BigCommerce store with our Lightspeed POS system
The theme we chose for our store stopped being maintained which led to consistency issues.
Could use better social media integration.

Likelihood to Recommend

Using BigCommerce for a small number of skus would be much easier than a store like ours with thousands of different products. If your store already has lots of traffic than you wouldn't be as worried about the social media integration as we ended up being. A store with an online based pos like square would work better than the set up that we have.

We utilize BigCommerce daily, it's where we manage our companies website. BigCommerce is great for adding products, managing customer accounts, posting company updates & even running various promotions / sales. This in turn is where our customers place orders, reference pricing, past orders, & past quotes. BigCommerce is great for keeping things organized amongst our company along with keeping our customer's records organized.

Pros

We really appreciate how easy it is to add products, and variants of products.
The integrated site analytics is pretty slick and tells us how our customers are utilizing our site/allows us to recognize trends.
Adding sales badges is a breeze and allows us to target specific items for sale to market!

Cons

I really don't have anything bad to say regarding Big Commerce. As a user of EVO-X as well, I can say Big Commerce is a much smoother, easier to navigate platform with more capabilities and integrations.

Big Commerce is great for managing our items for sale all while serving as a home base for our customers. - Whether they want to buy PPE, learn about PPE or have any questions or concerns, they know they can come to our site and get the service/product they need!
