A daily, live view of traffic and engagement to our site. We use it to make commissioning and promotion decisions by telling us what our readers are most interested in, and where they are finding out content. Our entire newsroom uses Chartbeat dashboard and the live view overlay on our site.

We use Chartbeat to monitor past and live traffic and traffic sources and to perform AB tests. Chartbeat has been our primary tool for analyzing traffic, especially after the introduction of Google Analytics 4, which cut back on many options. Chartbeat is used throughout the day to monitor traffic to our website.

AB headline testing.

Monitoring individual editor performance.
Monitoring live concurrents, there's hardly ever a bug.

Cons

Sometimes, AB tests don't start despite plenty of concurrents being online.
Daily email site reports don't mention the number of unique visitors.
We would like to see which searches people enter in Google before visiting our website.
