We use Foxit PDF Editor extensively across our organization due to its intuitive and user-friendly interface. It’s easy to navigate, even for users who aren’t particularly tech-savvy, which helps reduce training time and streamline our workflows. One of the primary business problems it addresses is the efficient preparation and organization of documents for hearings. The ability to quickly combine multiple PDFs into a single file is critical when assembling hearing exhibits. The bookmarking feature and the ability to instantly generate a table of contents have been absolute game changers. They significantly improve the navigability of large document sets, making it easier for our team, judges and other parties to locate specific sections quickly.

Pros

  • Easily combines multiple pleadings, exhibits, and supporting documents into a single, organized PDF—ideal for preparing court filings or hearing binders.
  • The ability to insert bookmarks and generate an instant table of contents makes navigating large case files straightforward for attorneys, judges, and opposing counsel.

Cons

  • The OCR will sometimes not fully capture all of the document properly, especially with older legal documents.
  • Searching through large documents can be a bit glitchy and lag or miss information.
  • We haven’t been able to real time collaborate with other team members on the documents in Foxit. That would be a nice addition.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for marking up depositions or pleadings with highlights, comments, and notes during case review. Supports Bates stamping, password protection, and other features often required for electronic filing. Built-in tools allow for quick and secure redaction of privileged or confidential information before sharing or filing. Less appropriate if you needed to work on real time collaboration or building complex form templates from scratch.

We utilize Foxit PDF Editor daily in our organization. It allows us to easily edit and modify PDF documents in real-time, without the hassle of compatibility or needing to login. It even allows us to edit PDFs that are attached to emails without physically saving the documents to a local drive. In terms of Accounting and Sales Order Confirmations, Foxit PDF Editor truly meets all of our needs.

Pros

  • Easy to use interface
  • Allows edited documents to be attached without saving physical copies
  • No login required - integrated seamlessly

Cons

  • Every now and then, the program will crash, but it is not often
  • Training modules for additional features would be nice - they may even already exist and we are just unaware!
  • When using the fill & sign feature, it would be nice if the program would recognize the text lines to write on, instead of having to add free-floating text boxes.

Likelihood to Recommend

Foxit PDF Editor allows us to customize our accounting statements, invoices & sales order acknowledgements, along with all other sorts of PDF documents, while not having to save file locally to our computer. The intuitive features and breadth of options are also appreciated. I do not see any scenario that would be an inappropriate use of this software.

We use Foxit PDF daily. It allows us to review documents we need, bookmark and annotate on them. This makes our job so much easier and more efficient.

Likelihood to Recommend

Most users are used to and are more familiar with Adobe PDF products and depending on your end users this may be a hurdle. Foxit PDF Editor looks and works a little bit different and if users aren't able to adapt this can become a burden on the support staff.

We use Foxit PDF Editor (FoxitPhantom) for filling out PDF forms, editing forms, and requesting eSignatures for forms. The program gives us the ability to quickly open any PDF form and prepare it for our business purposes with relative ease. The program also gives us the ability to get signatures quickly and efficiently instead of having to request for customers to print, sign, and scan and email back to us.

It's a great solution for replacing the more expensive and cumbersome Adobe Acrobat PDF Editor. It is a great solution for editing PDFs and for filling in PDF forms. It also has the ability to create your own fillable PDFs. And the best time saving part is the eSignature capability.

I have Foxit PDF Editor Standard Edition Version: 10.1.12.37872. I like the permanence of it. I use most of the features frequently but I use the features on the Fill & Sign tab, the Insert, Delete, Extract, and particularly the Flatten features of the Organize tab, and many of the features on the Form tab all the time and love how intuitive they all are. In my business, I found that I always needed to modify a PDF one way or another and Foxit PDF Editor was extremely easy for me to use and doesn't cost me anything on a recurring basis.

  • Flattens a document so text, pictures, signatures become part of the document
  • Allows me to fill and sign PDFs easily and quickly
  • It allows me multiple ways to insert, extract, and delete pages easily

Cons

  • It would be nice if the text formatting option came up immediately when I click on the Typewriter button

Likelihood to Recommend

It allows me to easily create fillable forms from a document and then gives me a plethora of tools to edit the form to be exactly as I need/want it. In my opinion, it is by far the easiest tool I have used to do this. The only negative I have is that sometimes the number of features and tools can be a little daunting since there are so many.

I use Foxit PDF editor to edit and create PDFs. It's much easier than Adobe or other PDF software I've used. It's also much easier to comment and edit PDFs, get signatures, etc. It can be collaborative if necessary which is helpful when sharing a project amongst team members. We also can use it for secure documents with protection for important work agreements and contracts.

  • There are so many features and it would be helpful to have more basic functions intuitively.

It is extremely well-suited for viewing documents, and for editing/commenting on PDFs. It's also ideal for form filling and signing. It's less well-suited for more complex design situations. Really great for merging PDFs and viewing multiple documents at once.

Great alternative to the bigger offerings in PDF editing software

We use Foxit for all of the scanned and secured documents for our loan applications, with supporting documents. In our attempt to go "paperless" we use thousands of scanned copies that have to be securely sent to closings, banks, and other financial institutions, and it does a very good job of doing so.

Pros

  • Reproducing legibly scanned files & images in a workable size.
  • Fast compression when converting to smaller sizes.
  • Easy use of different types of digital signatures.

Cons

  • Their support is a little hard to follow online.
  • Like all pdf editors, steep learning curve for various tools and functions.
  • Compression vs. readability takes some time to tweak.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think Foxit is a great alternative to Adobe's offering, at a cheaper price when needing a fully functioning editor. I have not seen anything lacking in comparison to the two. Again, their online support could use some work, especially over different versions, but that is not too much of an issue.
