SAP Data Intelligence is powerful software with good and simple interface, SAP Data Intelligence has improved all our business processes with its data visualization and data transformation capabilities.It is also useful in managing metadata, including data analysis, data facts, business rules, and business guidelines.

Pros

SAP DI helps us connect data from individual departments and then use that data to create integrated dashboards.
It provides features such as the ability to create pipelines for data integration and easy data manipulation.

Cons

Reports needs to be more customizable when using filters.

We used to work on a Data Lake for a huge organisation where we needed to make sense out of the unclean data and then also had to make reports out of the same. SAP Data Intelligence helped in the same. When it came to making detailed trend analysis report, we had made use of the same the most.

When you’re working with huge datasets or in our case when we were working with data from a Data Lake we had data coming in from multiple sources and SAP was used to do transformations on the Staging Data, it particularly helped us in this scenario and to make very thorough reports once Trend Analysis was done was one such amazing feature.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We are implementing SAP DI for large customers to manage their ML ecosystem. The DI system will be used for hosting homegrown models and also building newer ones from scratch. We are connecting SAP and Non SAP systems to DI. Inferences from DI would be used to support key business decisions.

Pros

Data orchestration from diverse sources.
Good inbuilt support to develop models (Jupyter Notebook).
Data pipelines, container architecture for deployment.
Tools for data cleansing.
Ability to port existing ML models into DI.

Cons

Product support documentation and blogs can be better.
Debugging can take a bit of time to understand and pinpoint issues.
Can be pricey.

Customers who have SAP S/4HANA/Business suite should definitely look to try DI for widespread adoption of ML in their business processes. The product is fairly stocked with features and typical of SAP, features are upgraded very frequently making it more stable and functionality rich.
