A Tool for the Tech-Savvy Team Lacking a Developer

Rating: 7 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We built and managed a website via Wix, extensively using their blog features and email marketing. The website builder is fairly manageable for people looking for a drag-and-drop experience, offering more detailed customization if desired. The blog offers some reporting -- though not all the analytics we'd like -- and there's some automation available with the email marketing systems.

Pros

  • Customization
  • Blog Analytics
  • Simple Websites

Cons

  • Integrations
  • Forms and Pop-Ups
  • Support

Likelihood to Recommend

I might recommend Wix to someone who wants to create a website if they are tech-savvy but not a developer. It's got plenty of drag-and-drop features, but you can easily get caught up in the weeds customizing and should have some knowledge of how widgets and websites work in order to use it very well. Or, if you don't have a lot of opinions on how your website should work or specific needs, just use one of their templates and be done with it.

The blog features are easy to use, and they offer help with SEO and analytics -- which are really nice. I'd recommend it for content marketing.

Some things have caused frustration, like integrating forms onto our blog posts, using their bookings feature, or using automations in a way that integrates well with our team's systems. We've found Wix's integrations to be more limited than we originally hoped. We've been researching adding a developer to our team and switching to Wordpress so that we can enhance our company's online presence and processes.

Wix Delivers Quick and Easy SEO Websites

Rating: 8 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We primarily use Wix to launch quick and easy marketing websites where the soul purpose is to gain SEO credibility with high quality responsive design. Since Wix’s user interface is very plug and play, it’s easy for our design team to create websites without having to code much at all. Wix also provides security and stability we’d expect from a hosting server with very little overhead cost.

Pros

  • Quick and Easy No-Coding Websites
  • Implemented SEO Tools
  • Security and Stability of Server
  • Friendly Admin User Interface
  • Low Cost

Cons

  • Limited Access to Apply Custom Code
  • The WYSWYG Editor Has Occasional Quirks
  • Limited in Plug and Play Blocks

Likelihood to Recommend

We have found that Wix is great for launching quick “no-code” websites where our goal is to have a great design with good SEO content. That being said, if you’re trying to do a lot of custom coding inside of the UI’s blocks, there are limitations to what Wix allows you to do. You pretty much have to work within the design parameters they give you in the user interface.

Great product but needs more brand awarness.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I used to use Wix to develop smaller sites for clients who needed a site for their small businesses. Wix was mainly used as a drag-and-drop website editor. The client wanted to use Wix specifically, so I ended up editing the site there, but have since switched to Squarespace for various reasons.

Pros

  • Customizable website designs.
  • Lots of templates.
  • SEO

Cons

  • Could be easier to use.
  • Could work with more influencers.
  • Could have more easily polished modules out of the box.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would recommend Wix if you're more website-savvy; it is more customizable than Squarespace. However, Squarespace's modules look more polished than Wix's, which you drag and drop onto the site. With Wix, you need to do a lot more work, and it allows for more customizations, but I am a lot quicker on Squarespace.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Wix to manage and edit our business website (ParrishBrumfield.com). Obviously, we have great confidence in Wix if we use it to host our website!

Pros

  • Allows quick and easy editing
  • Allows the manipulation of frames very well
  • Manages photos and graphics sizing very well

Cons

  • There is very little that you cannot accomplish with Wix. That's why we chose them to post our website

Likelihood to Recommend

Wix is well suited for both experienced and novice website designers. It is full of help and examples that can show you the way to quick design elements. It is simply the best we could find.

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I use Wix for a nonprofit organization I volunteer with. It is their main source of information for interested parties and where we publish blogs, events, updates, news, et cetera. I have also used Wix personally in the past for my own website. Wix is a great, easy-to-use platform for building and maintaining a website.

Pros

  • Easy to use design
  • Newsletter signups
  • Blog posting

Cons

  • I don't really have anything!

Likelihood to Recommend

It's just so simple to use -- I have used competitor's website builders, and they are challenging, hard to learn, and not intuitive. Wix is a very simple and straight forward program that makes it easy to build and maintain a website, whether it be for personal, business, or professional use.

Wix - great for local churches!

Rating: 9 out of 10
Incentivized

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Wix for designing, developing, and publishing the website for our annual youth conference. Wix helps us produce a professional looking webpage, with simple and tasteful designs. This website, produced by Wix, functions so as to help us present information about our annual youth conference, answer frequently, asked questions to our guests, and help register our guests to attend the conference.

Pros

  • Website development
  • Showcasing pictures of past conferences
  • Directing guests toward online registration

Cons

  • Sometimes the simplicity borders on a dated appearance
  • It could stand to be just a tad more user-friendly

Likelihood to Recommend

If you are a small business, a nonprofit organization, or, like us, a local church, then Wix is going to be incredibly helpful for you if you’re wanting to get the word out about events that your church is putting on. Wix can help spread information and be a central hub that you can direct people to if they have questions about your event.

Wix used to be good, but messed it up big time

Rating: 1 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have used Wix for several websites so far. The main reason would be to create an internet presence and to increase the professionalism with which our NGO is being perceived

Pros

  • Prefabricated websites that can be adjusted by its users
  • Website templates which are visually attractive

Cons

  • In my opinion, with the removal of the ADI web-building tool in favor of editor, user-friendliness has suffered tremendously.
  • In my opinion, the removal of the ADI web-building tool in favor of editor makes that a big portion of a website has to be redesigned, as items are now linked to each other in a different way than before.
  • In my opinion, the removal of the ADI web-building tool in favor of editor makes Wix only usable for professional website builders and no longer for the general public.

Likelihood to Recommend

The fact of Wix moving away from their ADI web-building tool in favour of Editor, in my opinion, makes a huge mess of everything. I feel a lot of the ease and automation of designing my website has gone to such an extent that I now "recommend" Wix only for professional developers. Worse is that I have to redesign a big part of my website as items are now linked to each other in a different way than used to be the case. In my opinion, A big ZERO for Wix, who clearly should do their homework again.

Rating: 8 out of 10

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We used Wix to create our website and create our brand value, get more and more people engaged with our organization and join us. Wix helped us to manage the people willing to know about our organization, maintain their details, communicate with them, and update them with all the latest news and information about our organization. Wix helped us make a larger audience know about who we are and get engaged with us. This helped us to book and host events and bring our organization to ground level and over the Internet.

Pros

  • Its pre-made design and template make it easy to make any type of websites.
  • Its Drag and Drop feature makes it easy even for beginners to make websites.
  • It makes it easy to directly connect with customers and site visitors.
  • Help you make your logos.
  • Helps in website and store management.
  • Lot of premium features for Free.

Cons

  • Wix sometimes takes time to sync the updates you made to your site.
  • Lot of feature and options, so beginner get overwhelmed and confused of what do use and how to use.
  • Wix Support system takes a lot of time.

Likelihood to Recommend

For me it's very well suited, a lot of premium features, making websites from scratch, making online shops and marketplace from scratch without the knowledge of coding and programming is awesome. It provides its very premium services for free, it has always helped me learn something new and create a website for different projects and organizations, it gave me a lot of features that even some don't give after paying.
