WordPress Meets Our Requirements

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

WordPress is the content management system we use to build, develop and update our company website. WordPress is a very popular, mature program with many plugins and integration capabilities with other platforms. It is very easy to edit and this allows us to easily and html content, graphics, and pdfs when we update information about our products and accessories. Moreover, it is very easy to chose a template to create new product pages when we launch new product pages. When we add an updated pdf to replace existing datasheet pdfs, we can maintain the existing clean url so our distributors who use that url on their website do not have to make any changes. WordPress integrates with Salesforce.com and HubSpot so we create WordPress pages with forms and pass info on form submissions to Salesforce and HubSpot. WordPress allows us to make a very user friendly interface including mega menus and pages with filter selections so users can filter content by country, language, product, document type, and business vertical. In addition to graphics, WordPress allows us to embed Youtube videos from our channel and partner channels.

Pros

  • uninterrupted uptime
  • supports easy page creation/updating (home page, landing pages, Tech Support page)
  • supports in-site searches by web visitors so they can easily find the exact content they are looking for
  • supports many themes and page templates (including custom themes and templates)
  • Integration with many other software platforms including Salesforce, HubSpot, Zapier, Event Management apps, Yoast SEO, Elementor

Cons

  • more AI capabilities to help create pages
  • a way to solve caching issues so the most current content is consistently provided to all visitors without visitors having to flush their cache
  • speed when saving edits. The speed isn't bad, but I could not think of anything else to nitpick about.

Likelihood to Recommend

So many small, medium, and large companies from a wide variety of industries are using WordPress so the platform seems to be well suited for almost everyone. More and more software platforms are integrating with WordPress. WordPress is user friendly, especially for creating blog posts and content that is not overly complex, while other platforms like Drupal might provide more customization, data management, and security.

Alternatives

I have not used Drupal or Joomla for several years, but WordPress is easier to use than those platforms from when I used them last. It's so easy to find a web developer who knows WordPress if I ever need help. And there are so many plugins and software platforms that integrate with WordPress. I have not run into anything that WordPress has not been able to handle.

In my experience, WordPress will, without warning, change your business plan to the free plan, ruining your website!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

As of today Jan 29, 2022, I have used WordPress (.com, not .org) as my hosting platform for my website since 2016. I am paid up for the 1-year business plan, and it doesn't expire till May of 2022. I noticed the WordPress app logo on my phone changed from bright blue to dull blue a couple of days ago, but I didn't think much about it until I went to my website. I believe WordPress took it upon themselves to change my Business Plan to the "free" plan and now all my products in my eCommerce shop are gone! During my experience, the Hestia Lite theme was removed and, in my opinion, everything on my website has changed and it looks awful! I put over a year of work and hundreds of hours getting my website to look beautiful and now, I feel like all of that is lost! To my understanding, free plans don't have access to instant WordPress chat with technical support, so I have to email them and they don't reply on weekends so I believe this will take weeks to resolve. Personally, I am livid and disgusted with WordPress! I ADVISE YOU NOT TO USE WORDPRESS.COM! IN MY OPINION, USE ANOTHER WEB HOSTING SITE!

Pros

  • In my experience, changing your website without your authorization.
  • In my experience, I feel that WordPress does not ask permission before doing something.
  • In my opinion, I believe WordPress does not allow instant chat technical support for "free plans".

Cons

  • I believe WordPress should contact the owner of the website before requesting to make changes.
  • I believe WordPress should offer instant chat for all plans not just for the business plan.

Likelihood to Recommend

In my opinion, if a zero was an option I would choose 0 out of 10, but there's no 0 to select. I would strongly recommend people to stay away from WordPress. Because, in my experience, they have shown that those who have paid for the business plan in full for a year in advance that it is NOT a guarantee that they will keep your business plan as they will change it to the "free plan", which I believe will mess up your site horribly!

WordPress 7 Years Plus User Experiance

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

I have been using WordPress since 2013. I started with the basic blog website and till now I have delivered many Websites based on WordPress for e-commerce and other fields. It's very easy to set up and the plugin library is amazing, everything can be done in a few steps if anyone has the working knowledge. The only drawback is frequent updates and management of the plugins.

Pros

  • SEO as its have all the systematic tools to do all the work rather than in PHP or any other website management.
  • Designing- is amazing you have used in house builder or woo-commerce, the elementary page builder for your needs, and some of them with basic features are free.
  • Fast Speed for loading index page and management for cached pages.
  • Migration- in WordPress is easy to just take backup and migrate with the tools of yourself.

Cons

  • Creating free plugins for starter business of individual blogs.
  • Getting domain names from WordPress is comparatively high than other domain sellers.
  • Automatic backup should be added in the WordPress itself, right now its not available you have to use 3rd party plugins of can do manually.

Likelihood to Recommend

A person with basic knowledge can install WordPress easily from the channel but to the actual results, you need the expert. The creating and setup with 3rd party APIs is the time taken and some time WordPress stuck. But overall you have the best tool in the market for website management.

Alternatives

Shopify
Easy to use and community support plus hosting companies tie-up with the WordPress to give a fast solution.

WordPress - The Best of the Best!!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Our organization uses WordPress for our online bulk food store. It has addressed the issue of being able to reach audiences that are not local to our store, so we can reach a broader group of customers.

Pros

  • Customizable options and more control over the website as a whole
  • Very user friendly (especially with the installation of the Elementor plug in)
  • Many themes to choose from
  • Desktop, Mobile, and Tablet responsive

Cons

  • Must update plug ins on a regular basis
  • Making updates on the backend can be slow at times (especially if not on a dedicated server)
  • There can be a learning curve with some of the features and coding

Likelihood to Recommend

I have used several web platforms, and WordPress is by far my favorite. With all of the customization options, it was a must have for our more complex store platform. I love the ability to add plug ins to give a plethora of capabilities from customizable shipping options, to customizable cart options, to everything between!

Alternatives

Weebly
I have used Weebly and local web hosting software, and for a small scale site, they were appropriate. With the size of our online store (over 1,000 products), however, WordPress was the obvious choice! We decided to use WordPress when we opened our store several years ago, and we have never looked back! It handles our site with ease and has grown right along with us. We couldn't be more satisfied!

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Wordpress is used to build smaller sites that we need to look good, and be able to create within a timely manner. Wordpress also allows us to create great looking content/websites for our clients, and it's easy to hand over the editing capabilities to them with little training on the CMS.

Pros

  • Interface ease of use.
  • Ability to train clients to use the CMS to edit their own content.
  • Endless amounts of themes and plugins available to use for customization.

Cons

  • Regulations of who can create themes/plugins. There seems to be many glitchy themes/plugins created.
  • Although there's a huge online community/forums with support, it would be nice to have a chat feature and be able to talk with an actual rep.
  • Security. I seem to hear a lot about being easy to hack.

Likelihood to Recommend

I think that WordPress is well suited to people who have a small business and are looking to have a blog on their website. I believe that if you have a major site, I would stick with hiring a professional developer/team to build and run your website.

Alternatives

ion interactive
It's similar as in a WYSIWYG editor, however, it has its vast differences in the way you build and edit content and the themes/plugins you can use.

Wordpress - Blogging and SEO

Rating: 10 out of 10

Pros

  • WordPress is a great blogging platform.
  • Allows you to produce search engine friendly blog content. It builds easily-searchable content and there are multiple plug-ins to enhance SEO.
  • Easy to get up and running quickly. There are many pre-built templates which are a very fast way of getting up and running with minimal effort. Many of our affiliates use these templates to get started.

Cons

  • It could use more layout templates that are free. The better ones tend to have a cost associated with them.
