afi is next generation system, with our previous vendor we had to wait for a long time to access data, sometimes up to 24h.The reason for that was our scale according to the support team. ( 50TB +) With afi it takes a few seconds. The UI is super simple and easy to use, no …
Veritas is an old no-go monster, slow, clunky and unpredictable. Veeam is good, we use it for on-prem Hyper-V clusters. As for M365 - AFI is much cheaper, low maintenance, and easier to use.
Veeam requires you to maintain local hardware infrastructure (backup server, storage), which adds significant cost. Local is less secure, as its hosted in the same primary infrastructure. It doesn't scale well; we had to install an additional backup server per 3,000 user groups.
afi.ai shows faster backup performance and has live preview of mailbox data. Spanning backup can export Exchange online data in MBOX format, but it provides no live preview option.
We looked at a few vendors, the two most notable solutions being Spanning and Veeam. Spanning is good a well-recognized vendor; however, we found it not to be that flexible in terms of access control configuration. Teams backup is quite limited--neither private channels nor …
This fits Nutanix better than anything I have found. HYCU clearly focuses on personalized service. You can email, call or open a web ticketed, depending on your urgency.
I have used several backup programs, I selected 2 just to be brief. The best thing I see with HYCU over Veeam is that it is much more difficult for an attacker if inside the network to gain access to the backups and objects saved in the backup storage. The best part about HYCU …
We moved from VMware w/ Veeam to Hyper-V w/ Microsoft Data Protection Manager. Each backup solution worked well for its respective workload. We made the jump to AHV on Nutanix. MSFT DPM wasn’t compatible and HYCU was a better value than Veeam.
Great for archiving of deleted SharePoint online sites and off-boarded Microsoft 365 users; unlimited number of on-demand backup runs that can be triggered in the application by system administrators.
It’s well suited for Nutanix AHV data protection and includes the ability for immutable backups via WORM policy. I’m unsure of its performance in environments that use Hyper-V OR VMware for virtualization. The use of tiered backups without additional policies are great when creating new VMs, even automatically assigning a default backup policy to ensure that all workloads have at least a minimal level of data protection
We will continue to renew the service for as long as we continue to use MS 365, unless Microsoft will release native Office 365 backup that provides all necessary features, including multi-geo admin roles, long-term affordable archiving storage tier, auto-conversion of email formats (MBOX, EML etc), point-in-time preview of previous file versions.
Very simple interface. Can learn it in a day. The instances where I needed a little hand holding, I just called support and they assisted immediately. That's the best of both worlds.
We needed to contact them three times over the course of two years, and it was very good. Very fast response, and the people are super technical and to the point.
I have had several requests, and issues with the rollout and deployment of HYCU in our production environment. The HYCU team of support and developers have met each issue with importance and some kind of resolution or explanation of help. They have been so supportive even in the not so easy ones. That says something for their product and team behind it.

The best thing I see with HYCU over Veeam is that it is much more difficult for an attacker if inside the network to gain access to the backups and objects saved in the backup storage. The best part about HYCU over Bacula is that it is much easier to use and more stable. The interface alone will save you from time and energy using other products
It's hard to assess ROI here, however we were able to recover very important documents and full user accounts for executive team during the audit. It helped in a big way.
Self-Service is a life saver for IT helpdesk team, saved a lot of human hours.
