We evaluated both Monarch and Astera Centerprise and ended up purchasing Astera Centerprise due to ease of use and the wide range of available functions.
GoldenGate is not really designed for "interactive reusasbility" situations. Centerprise is perfect for the concept of reusing previous work for new projects! Plus, the cost difference is so huge!

We switched from Tableau to Domo because we believe Domo is a better tool for self-service business intelligence. After switching to Domo, we saw much stronger adoption from business users compared to Tableau.
Astera Centerprise is specific to EDI files. From what I've seen it can be used on EDI files across multiple industries. We use it specifically for healthcare EDI files. We do not create any files using this software because we do not have that need at CCHP, but I know the software could be used for that. CCHP uses the software to correct EDI errors and to import EDI data to our SQL data warehouse. EDI files have a layered structure so they need to be broken down in order to be loaded into the data warehouse. Without this tool we would not be able to import the files. Also, with the layered structure, fields, segments, dependencies and hierarchy, making changes manually is both risky and time consuming. Centerprise reduces the amount of time used to correct files and removes the possibility of creating other errors.
Domo is great when you want to see lots of values historically or see data you can see natively in a platform. As I mentioned earlier, Domo is the only way our Marketing and Sales teams can see when their emails were opened and compare the send time - this is an example of data I can't see natively.

We have several support calls that have been labeled as to be done in the future. One is the reading of the File Definition in AcuCobol with the sign trailing in a numeric field. The handling of this would help us in several areas but we have been able to develop a work around at this point.

When changing cards from one dataset to another any beast modes are not carried over, it would often make life easier if there was an easier way to copy beast mode calculations from one dataset to another.
Domo documentation, university and Dojo are extremely helpful when we run into problems. However, when support beyond that is needed their help desk seems to have a hefty backlog - the amount of time to resolve tickets is frustrating sometimes.
We've been using Astera Centerprise application for the last 6 years and we've already added EDI connect to it. Both applications are working really well for our enterprise needs so far with no issues, so we'll continue renewing the licenses.
Domo is a great up-and-coming product. There are many fantastic features that are extremely compelling to our end users, which makes Domo a great fit for our organization. As with many BI tools, there are items on the wish list that could make implementation, administration and usage easier, but I believe these will be addressed over time as the product matures and evolves. The overall concept and approach of this solution has definitely raised the bar in this area of expertise and I would like to see things advance in giving the enterprise tools that will make decision making easier and more robust in the future.
It's very intuitive and visually descriptive. The interface is standard windows drag and drop although cut and paste are not universally available depending upon what function you're trying to do. You see the ETL and what it's doing. You can inspect the data elements the transformations and perform data previews incrementally along the data flow. You actually SEE what the results are and you can make adjustments without black box testing
A business management platform has to be flexible to provide solutions for customers from any business environment, but that flexibility has to be delivered without requiring complex business process re-engineering and massive data conversion efforts. Domo’s web-based architecture and wealth of connectivity options allow rapid setup for any business. If your marketing company is wrestling with channel return on investment or your educational organization is drowning in data, Domo has the tools and capability to use your data and turn it into something useful for you
In most cases Astera is stable. However, our client experiences the error from time to time. Mostly they are related to cdc file and ServerAdminConfig.xml file.
Support is great! No matter if you need technical assistance or you have general questions about the tool - the support is very responsive and provides solutions quickly. They are available via various channels, which makes it very convenient to get in touch with them (Support portal, direct email contact, LinkedIn).
Pretty responsive. It took a while to get a response in selecting data points for our particular cards. Might have taken about a month? I am not sure if this was something on our end or Domo's end. But haven't had any other issues yet that required additional support from Domo.
Astera support provided us implementation/installation tutorial and we were able to perform all the activities. Also one of the support was there to shadow us to make sure the process was smooth with no issues
It is a true web-based application so implementation is much easier and smoother compared to other non-web based BI solutions. Also, they offered consulting services during the implementation process, which was helpful. Also, they provided lots of on-demand training courses and videos, which I liked.

We also looked at Datawatch Monarch as a possibility but found it over-all to be cost-prohibitive. We also looked at a cheaper alternative called SimX but did not have a strong confidence in the product as we evaluated it. We landed on Centerprise Data Integrator as it met all of our business requirements and we know we could leverage it for many uses across our enterprise.

I think Astera can do multiple things. However, we are not sure what it can do. We only know the basic features. If they can give us some kind of training, then we maybe able to benefit for it. We are planning to use their Azure connection in the future. If they can provide the training for it, it will be wonderful.
It is tough to say on how Centerprise would have helped us with ROI. Unfortunately our project (after 3 years) was scrapped (put on hold) due to the impromptu purchase of another Crop Insurance company. But with that, Centerprise was huge in getting our warehouse loaded for our BI Team to make important decisions about our policies.
Domo has allowed us to see much more clearly what is working for students on our programs, and what is not. This enables us to consolidate success and further develop where there are areas of concern.
The verbatim comments in Domo makes the reports especially attractive to staff, since they are able to engage directly with students' personal opinions and not just with rating scales.
