Atlassian Confluence is way popular for a larger team and makes collaboration way easier. The community is strong and you get easier resolution against any request. It's integration with other Atlassian products like JIRA is an icing on the cake.
In my experience, Atlassian Confluence is at the top of these tools. I've had first hand experience with other tools and they are not at par with Atlassian Confluence. The versatility of the tool is very well recognized and utilized. Being a new user is not a probably as all …
Atlassian Confluence is a super handy hub for sharing ideas and keeping all your docs in one place. While Jira Service Management is more about handling tickets and support issues, Atlassian Confluence really makes teamwork easy. I feel Atlassian Confluence is user-friendly, …
We choose Atlassian Confluence because it is the reference for managing a SAAS wiki service. And having such a solution in our company to manage the knowledge and especially the knowledge transfer is crucial.
Confluence has a more robust set of capabilities compared to Dovetail and Trello and also was already approved by our legal and compliance teams, so it tends to keep its stickiness due to that. It's also widely known in the market as a knowledge management tool. I would say it …
Overall, Atlassian Confluence is a user-friendly tool and offers such a vast array of capabilities for project and knowledge management purposes and beyond. Other tools listed above have much more limited capabilities, although they are great tools for very specific needs and …
Confluence, since it is part of the overall infrastructure of Atlassian, makes it immensely powerful internally, to build an internal knowledgebase, and is far ahead of its counterparts in Zendesk and Hubspot, which is more centered towards their customers. Confluence is just …
Sharepoint in out organisation was mostly used for collaborating on documents, which to some degree has been moved to Confluence, where the Confluence pages have replaced the specific documents.
Being a company which uses other Atlassian tools, Atlassian Confluence was a great fit; the natural and automatic linking of assets from other platforms made following paper trails seamless. Though the editing options aren't as advanced as some other options out there, it does …
We find Atlassian better for its ease of use, real time editing, integration with Jira for bug tracking, stores our security compliance documents in structured way, it is feature rich and have lots of capabilities.
In the past, I have used MediaWiki hosted locally as well as Microsoft Team Foundation Server. Wiki was simply a nightmare so all the money saved from paying for Atlassian subscriptions was lost in time while trying to use Wiki and format something properly. I haven't used …
Atlassian Confluence is better suited for documenting and acting as a repository for information than the more immediate what is currently being worked on things that are better suited for in Jira. In my opinion, Atlassian Confluence certainly has it's short comings but it is …
We still use Atlassian Confluence only for its integration with Jira and Bitbucket. For everything else, we moved away from it and are using more modern solutions.
We chose Atlassian Confluence over SharePoint because it's much more user-friendly and intuitive. Atlassian Confluence makes collaboration and knowledge sharing easier with its simpler interface and better search. While SharePoint can be powerful, it often feels clunky and …
The alternatives tested are based only on the whiteboarding functionality added by Confluence Whiteboard, and not the core Confluence functionality (documentation).
Again, Atlassian Confluence is efficient when paired with Jira and can do most of what a company needs it to do. But, I thi Spekit is better for "just-in-time" learning, Sharepoint is better for file hosting and organization, Asana is much better for project/task management, …
We were inclined to use Atlassian Confluence for its easy collaboration with Jira which is used for tracking project development tasks and issues. Using Atlassian Confluence, content creation became easy and even applying access control to the created content was possible. It …
We used to use a Wiki site, but that was locally hosted, and when the server was powered off, you could not access it. Moving to Confluence in the cloud is much easier. Also, the interface is much easier to use and expand.
The products we evaluated were considered as potential replacements for MasterControl Quality Excellence. At this time, we continue using MasterControl Quality Excellence primarily due to the significant volume of data in our system and the operational impact of a platform …
MasterControl Quality Excellence is better than Veeva Vault because it's easier to use, faster to implement, and built specifically for highly regulated industries. It offers more flexibility, better integration with manufacturing systems, and strong tools for audits and …
Master control is just so easy to access and navigate. Anyone who is new doesn't really struggle to navigate master control. It also tracks time of when documents should be sign off. This is very important for the company specially when having other people come and audit. Love …
so far Veeva seems to be more user friendly, more robust functionality, and good quality but 3 or 4 times the cost. MasterControl Quality Excellence is good quality, decent amount of functionality and much better bang for your buck.
I have not used anything similar to MasterControl because when it comes to learning on the job training, master control is and appears to be the only one people within my community seem to use, so while I can not compare it to anything at the moment. It's still a great learning …
MasterControl is amongst the very few options that allowed us to satisfy majority of our Quality Management System needs using a single system. The ability for the systems to interact with other QMS aspects was crucial for our decision making. Documents and Training modules are …
Our company was looking for a document control program, and we looked at several companies, but this one we called the Ferrari of document control systems. This company can do so much for than just document control, they can do just about anything you can dream of and more. …
Hands down, MasterControl Quality Excellence worked a million times better than SmartSolve. While SmartSolve was definitely cheaper, we struggled with that system immensely and it only had documents and training for corporate functions because after implementation, it was clear …
MasterControl Quality Excellence is a better user experience. Workday can be confusing and hard to use as far as the interface. Both programs have there services but I feel MasterControl does a much better job at making things easier to find and easier to navigate for whatever …
Dozuki is also used as our site, but it is not nearly as advanced as master control. There are many things and configurations that cannot be completed in the Dozuki platform.
Atlassian Confluence is a great tool for housing important information and resources across the organization, as it's very easy to search and find content across different teams and departments. The search function is mostly very accurate and the additional tagging with keywords also helps in the search experience. It's also good at tagging other team members, which triggers an automated email to them. Atlassian Confluence also has an extensive template library for all kinds of purposes like project management, etc., which saves time overall.
The MasterControl Quality Excellence suite is well suited for the life sciences and biotechnology as well as manufacturing companies that could benefit from the regulatory compliance that this suite of products offer. This product is highly recommended for industries that want to reduce paper overhead and digitally transform their QMS into a singular location
Its integration with Jira for tracking development and the bugs and work linked to detailed Confluence documentation.
We use it extensively for writing Software Product Requirement Documents, feature specs, architecture designs, and retrospectives.
Our company follows compliance very seriously, so it helps in streamlining all documentation for ISO27001/27017 compliance and security-related information.
Its integration with various tools allows us to create flow diagrams which are often required to make client and customer understand the overall flow of interactions across various modules of the design architecture
There is no trigger if there is a duplicate document in the system. Since each InfoCard has its document number, unless used simultaneously with someone else, there is no trigger for duplicate documents.
When searching and looking at all the documents on the system, it would be nice to have a time column showing when it was released. All I am currently going off of is taking the document number and the highest, but that also takes time.
You can't get rid of a subtype if you have data associated with it. So if you enter documents a certain way and your team decides to change how, things will be more efficient, etc. You can't delete that subtype until you remove all data from the system, even if you don't need some. It's a big task if you have been using it for a long time.
I am confident that Atlassian can come with additional and innovative macros and functions to add value to Confluence. In 6 months, Atlassian transformed a good collaborative tools into a more comprehensive system that can help manage projects and processes, as well as "talk" with other Atlassian products like Jira. We are in fact learning more about Jira to evaluate a possible fit to complement our tool box.
would rate MasterControl Quality Excellence a 7 out of 10 because, while it offers strong compliance tools, centralized document control, and effective audit readiness features, there are still areas that could be improved to enhance the overall user experience. The platform can sometimes feel complex and unintuitive, especially for new users, and customizing workflows to fit specific organizational needs can be challenging. Additionally, integration with other enterprise systems isn't always seamless, which can slow down processes. Despite these drawbacks, the system remains a reliable and valuable tool for maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.
It's very intuitive for most things, making it easy to jump in and start creating pages and collaborating. This makes it ideal for onboarding new members to the team. There are a few areas that could be a little smoother, but overall it's a great experience.
Some tasks require the users and SysAdmin to access multiple modules at a time. For example: to create a training course and an exam for a document in the system, the user needs to finish creating the document in the doc module, then go to the training module to create a course and an exam separately. Ideally, from the document page we should be able to access the training course, which could have some fields auto-populated. And from there, also create and link an exam, all without leaving the document page.
We never worked against the tide while using Confluence. Everything loads considerably fast, even media components like videos (hosted on the platform or embed external videos from Youtube, for example). We are not using heavy media components a lot, but in the rare occasion we happen to use one we have no problems whatsoever.
This rating is specifically for Atlassian's self-help documentation on their website. Often times, it is not robust enough to cover a complex usage of one of their features. Frequently, you can find an answer on the web, but not from Atlassian. Instead, it is usually at a power user group elsewhere on the net.
The Technical Support team has grown exponentially over the last couple years. Some front line support staff are new to the system and so know less than the clients do. Back line staff are more seasoned and provide immediate assistance to the front line staff. They have an extensive knowledge bank to assist them as well as client access to most KB articles. Annual user group conference gives us chance to meet the support staff an also to resolve any outstanding issues. Any critical vendor notices are emailed immediately when found and a patch offered at the same time. These are rare, but quickly resolved.
I rated the MasterControl in-person training a 10 because it was clear, practical, and well-paced. The trainer explained concepts thoroughly and answered questions effectively. I appreciated the hands-on walkthroughs, which made it easier to understand how to apply the system in real scenarios. Overall, it was a valuable learning experience that boosted my confidence in using MasterControl.
transparent and immediate when the documents are updated. Easy to check on training and customizable to the company's expectations. Allows easy exam creation with GXP assist and the correlation between job codes and courses has proven reliable. What i would advocate is that you see who has trained on the course in the Course Infocard, to the document infocard
The implementation of MasterControl Quality Excellence was largely successful, earning an 8 out of 10. The project was well-structured, and the implementation team provided solid guidance throughout the process. Key milestones were met on time, and the system was configured to meet most of our core requirements. One of the most valuable aspects was the hands-on training and support during go-live, which helped ensure user adoption. However, there were some challenges around data migration and aligning the system’s capabilities with our existing workflows, which required more time and effort than anticipated. Overall, the experience was positive, and the lessons learned have positioned us well for future system enhancements.
Atlassian Confluence is a super handy hub for sharing ideas and keeping all your docs in one place. While Jira Service Management is more about handling tickets and support issues, Atlassian Confluence really makes teamwork easy. I feel Atlassian Confluence is user-friendly, integrates smoothly with other Atlassian tools, and helps everyone stay in sync. It's great for brainstorming, and project planning as well. Overall, it is a great way to boost collaboration and ensure all team members are on the same page.
MasterControls' user interface is more visually appealing than others I have seen. It enhances the user experience of utilizing MasterControl Quality Excellence and provides clearer visual cues when certain items require attention. Other systems I have used rely on knowing what will execute the functions without much assistance. MasterControl provides additional cues when hovering over items that require entry to provide additional context.
Merging instances has saved search time - We used to have several instances of Atlassian Confluence, which means they're separate and so can't communicate with each other. We've since merged into one instance and now with the help of the search feature can find the documents you're looking for in seconds rather than several minutes.
Cross linking product assets streamlines following paper trails - Being able to click on a BitBucket link from a Confluence page which then links to a JIRA ticket means you can follow paper trails really easily; seconds rather than several minutes.
Paper-based change control processes that previously took weeks have been reduced to days, significantly improving operational efficiency and document turnaround times.
Custom-developed forms within MasterControl Quality Excellence have enabled data validation at the point of entry, which has substantially reduced input errors and deviations. This benefit, however, is dependent on internal developer resources, as the platform functions primarily as a host.
After 15 years of use, poor initial implementation and software limitations created lasting technical debt. System migrations to resolve these issues is still ongoing after years of manual efforts, and unmet functionality continues to impact productivity, forcing additional software purchases to address gaps.
