Considered Both Products
Atlassian Loom
Chose Atlassian Loom
We have used zoom, google meet or youtube to manage our videos in the past. But both did not seem to be as seamless for everyone to use it. Loom came in to provide an easy way for everyone to use video and share screens or communicate in general. Loom integrates with slack and …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I tried other solutions for video feedback and none of them could match how quick and easy the video recording and sharing is on Loom. Also the consistency of the recordings and reliability is crucial.
Chose Atlassian Loom
I use Loom because everybody knows Loom, and they are more likely to click on the link.
Chose Atlassian Loom
Loom: Loom offers both free and paid plans. The free plan includes basic features and limitations, while the paid plans unlock additional functionalities such as longer video recordings, HD quality, and more advanced sharing options. Either way, quite affordable Vidyard: …
Chose Atlassian Loom
As mentioned before not a team collaboration replacement but a great tool for individual issue resolution and sharing best practice resources.
Chose Atlassian Loom
Loom is great as it is the first in the market. But sendspark is a close second with its pricing and support
Chose Atlassian Loom
When we evaluated the alternatives, Loom was by far the most advanced tool, with multiple types of integrations. Additionally, Loom also provided a Free plan, which made it easy to consider as an alternative. Vidyard and similar tools integrated better with certain other tools …
Chose Atlassian Loom
Honestly, before using Loom, I was recording videos from my cell phone and sending them through Whatsapp or Telegram to try to send large file sizes! I know there are other screen recording tools, but Loom's web interface with all the settings just knocks it out of the park for …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I selected Loom because of product superiority and intuitiveness. Loom has high quality videos compared to others, the Freemium tier is very exciting in Loom. Loom is a multipurpose tool that comes to our help in many areas- whereas other tools are more focused on a specific …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I didn't use any other product like Loom. Skype or Viber just won't work for what I needed. I talked with people who used other products but didn't try one myself. Loom was the first to try and I stayed with it. I was satisfied enough with Loom that I didn't feel like exploring …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I prefer loom to droplr because of its easy interface. I had to take extra time to learn how to become effective with Droplr, while Loom felt self explanatory.
Chose Atlassian Loom
Zoom's recording feature has been helpful before Loom, but I appreciate that with Loom I can go back and re-record something if I made a mistake. It's much easier.
Chose Atlassian Loom
Simplified version of ScreenFlow, not as comprehensive as ScreenFlow in terms of features, but it does the trick for making short training videos. If you just want to capture something on-screen and not do a lot of editing, then Loom is perfect for that. Great for generating …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I tried lots of different screen recording software but ultimately chose Loom because it had the simplest and most user-friendly UI. There are certainly more advanced apps, like ScreenFlow, but my use case is fairly simple—I just want to be able to record video/screen-shares as …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I've used Camstasia and Screen-o-Matic to record screen capture videos in the past. These 2 options at the time didn't have an online platform to upload the videos, so I uploaded it to Youtube or Google Drive so my collaborators could watch them. Loom is easier than them, as it …
Chose Atlassian Loom
Loom solves something that no one else is even trying to solve. Quick visualization of your online experience. Every other solution that records your screen takes time to render the video before it can be shared. Loom is taking the magic of sharing a screenshot of your computer …
Chose Atlassian Loom
Loom is the best video screen sharer that we have come across. Its ease of use and relative value in its free product make it an easy stand out when we went looking for a platform to use. Though there are different video recording platforms out there that can do similar things …
Chose Atlassian Loom
I also use Wistia, which has more functionality around saving and organizing videos. Wistia has a product called Soapbox that is very similar to Loom.
Chose Atlassian Loom
I also have used eCamm and Quicktime for screen-share/screen recordings. All of the tools here require some patch working of a screen recording, uploading the video to a hosting site, and then eventually sending it to the client. Huge time suck!
Chose Atlassian Loom
I used to use Zoom to do screen capture video - even I don't have someone else in a video conference - just because it does a good job of creating screen captures. But that's not really what Zoom is designed to do. Now, when I need to do a fast, low-production-value, …
Chose Atlassian Loom
There are plenty of screengrab / screen recording tools out there. I like loom based on it's simplicity for acheiving regularly occuring challenges. I don't typically need anything heavier, so having this as a quick tool is great!
Chose Atlassian Loom
For desktop recordings, I've only used Quicktime. Loom is overall a nicer looking and functioning tool for recording videos, although there are a couple tools that Quicktime has (like splicing videos and selecting a specific recording size) that I wish Loom had.
Zoom Workplace
Chose Zoom Workplace
I feel, Zoom Workplace stands out for its superior video conferencing and meeting features, making it ideal for large meetings and webinars. While Slack and Teams excel in messaging and collaboration, Zoom is more user-friendly for video communication. It integrates well with …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is certainly the superior product, but MS Teams gives it a run for its money due to all of the AI integrated features that MS CoPilot has added to the entire MS Office product portfolio. If Zoom added more AI features, and possibly something similar to ZoomInfo …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom is cheaper and easy to use than other tools.
Chose Zoom Workplace
I think that Zoom is a little less intuitive than google meets. I prefer it though because ore people have it so it feels like the industry standard to use Zoom for meetings. I would rely more on Zoom than on google meets as well because sending invites is easier and better …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Teamviewer is sloppy, and its SSO sign-in is faulty. I am so glad the company steered towards Zoom for all communications.
Chose Zoom Workplace
We still use both side by side. We tend to use Zoom for external calls and teams for internal calls
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace has a range of products that are closely integrated and is fairly customizable so that we are better able to control branding and improve efficiency. Other platforms like Skype have often faced connection issues and do not have as many advanced features.
Chose Zoom Workplace
To have all of the tools and features within one application makes it much easier to on-board new employees, acclimate, and manage. To split features across different platforms is cumbersome to manage and costs much more.
Chose Zoom Workplace
We use Microsoft 365 for everything we do as a company. Except for video communication. For that we use Zoom Workplace, even though Teams is integrated into our other Microsoft products. We found Teams difficult to use and buggy, whereas Zoom Workplace always just works. It is …
Chose Zoom Workplace
It's better for group conversations, and it's more reliable. And everyone has it.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is less resource-intensive compared to Microsoft Teams. Slack appears very basic and does not have the app offerings that Zoom boasts. I've also encountered a significant amount of audio issues when using Slack to conduct meetings. Zoom has found its niche and …
Chose Zoom Workplace
I prefer to use Zoom Workplace over Microsoft Teams because I find it to be more user friendly and everyone can access Zoom, whereas only Microsoft users can use Microsoft Teams. For the work that we do, we like that anyone with a valid email address can sign up and use Zoom …
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace is much more user friendly and easy to use it is also better generally at consistently working well when needed.
Chose Zoom Workplace
I believe it is a great contender for a video and audio calling platform. We selected it due to the need for a more flexible option over using Microsoft Teams. It is difficult to join a Teams call if you do not already have a Microsoft account setup, whereas with Zoom Workplace …
Chose Zoom Workplace
We used Dialpad and Teams previously and both were fine. When we were looking at scheduling software, we looked at Calendly. Ultimately, it was cheaper to use Zoom Workplace for phone, video and scheduling and we really liked our Zoom Workplace support team. Calendly and Zoom …
Chose Zoom Workplace
We went with Zoom Workplace due to it's stability, ease of use, and feature set.
Chose Zoom Workplace
Much better place to connect than Google meets. Service, audio and video seem much more efficient
Chose Zoom Workplace
As far as I know Google meets doesn’t allow to record the calls which is a big downside
Chose Zoom Workplace
We actively use both to accomodate the audience/attendees. Zoom Workplace is much better for large groups.
Chose Zoom Workplace
RingCentral Contact Center
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace had a better phone system from our understanding currently. Other features are relatively comparable
Chose Zoom Workplace
Zoom Workplace has a more robust interface and is more widely understood than Google meets or other video call services and so its best for us for larger groups and with external partners.
Chose Zoom Workplace
We prefer Slack for interoffice communications. We find it more convenient, easier to use, and more customizable. Administration is pretty easy too. We utilize Microsoft Teams otherwise, as we are a Microsoft shop and integrating Teams is easier when we are already heavily …
Chose Zoom Workplace
easier to use and navigate, more reliable, better call recording
Chose Zoom Workplace

The price is comparable based on the features.
Integration has more options. SOme of the competitors just limit you to their software/products only.

Loom is literally the best free (or depending on your team size) tool that I have found in recent years honestly. I have a consulting practice on the side where we work in multiple timezones. Im not the best with words or explaining things over email, and im a much more visual person. being able to show somehow how to do something rather than explain it via email is HUGE. Its literall creating the office culture vibe over video, and its exactly what i need to help scale my consulting while also help provide training at my current job.

Pros
  • They have various integrations and apps, so using it on any platform is easy.
  • They have an easy recording feature - so we don't need training to use Loom.
  • Editing the video once it's made is suer easy on their backend tool - so we don't need to get the video completely right while recording.
  • Their folder system makes it easy to organize videos.

  • It's a great way to connect around the world with minimal bandwidth consumption.
  • Meeting our peers and exchanging ideas is made possible through the use of high-quality video and audio calls.
  • Exceptional audio and video quality; we are recording meetings and transferring them to other storage.
  • Compared to other apps, it has more features and allows for efficient file sharing within the chatbox.

Cons
  • The video trim feature has improved a lot recently, but it's still not perfect. Sometimes when I trim a video clip, it distorts other parts of the video.
  • It would be nice if they had a referral/affiliate program. I would get all my friends to sign up!

  • You need an app to make the calls and meetings, but it would be perfect if it had a web-based option.
  • Sometimes when internet speed drops, the audio quality also drops; I would understand the video quality dropping, but the audio doesn't consume much bandwidth, so it would be nice to have a consistent audio even on low internet speeds.

Because every other conference tool is expensive, bloated, or fails to make it easy to just have a call with someone.

Usability
It's dirt easy for the one thing it does exceptionally well. If you think, "hmmm, I should make a quick screen capture of this thing on screen, you can start recording in seconds with almost no additional effort." Once you're done, the recording is automatically uploaded to your account site, and automatically creates a URL you can copy and share with your target audience. From IDEA to EXECUTION to DISTRIBUTION is literally seconds.

Zoom is made for the non tech office. It has features that can be made to do what you need to run things on a day to day basis. Immediately we we able to get meetings going with remote employees. The ability to be able to add smartphone connected people was a big plus. Zoom met our needs at the time.

There have been less than a handful of outages during our two years with Zoom, and whenever there was one, an email informing us of the outage went out immediately, and they had the issue resolved shortly thereafter.

Performance
Loom is one of my favorite solutions and I've been a raving fan since they first launched. The value of quickly sharing videos in seconds is amazing. Our customers love it so much that they have even downloaded the Loom Chrome extension for their own use with their clients! It's so simple, and nothing else compares or competes.

Zoom has among the best performance of any video conference platform, as I've mentioned several times. Besides that, their Chat platform works great, and their back end always runs smooth. It's unfortunate that reporting can now only be done by one month at a time, but nonetheless, it only takes a second to run any kind of Zoom report, whether it's an attendee report, Poll results, a user report, a list of meetings from the past month, etc.

Support Rating
I use Loom for simple tasks. Never used customer support really. It's so simple to use. I haven't had any real issue with Loom which would require customer support to help me out. So I just put 5 because I don't know if the customer support is good or bad since I never used, so I'm kind of neutral.

Because I got a response right away, and was assigned one specific individual to work with me from the beginning to the resolution. I had an actual email address and direct contact with this person without having to start over and over every time I contacted Zoom - this singular individual remained attentive and was well informed on the subject matter and quite able to resolve my needs.

If you receive any pushback from higher ups, point to any of the various positive reviews like this one. Or show Zoom's excellent Gartner report, or articles describing Zoom's partnership with Sequoia capital. Alternatives Considered
We have used zoom, Google Meet or youtube to manage our videos in the past. But both did not seem to be as seamless for everyone to use it. Loom came in to provide an easy way for everyone to use video and share screens or communicate in general. Loom integrates with Slack and that is another cool feature

Zoom Workplace is typically on the more expensive end against other options, but it's the industry leader for a reason. It has the most brand credibility by far, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. There are limitations when it comes to technical performance, customization and video/audio quality. I prefer Slack myself for communication apps, but Zoom Workplace is a good alternative.

Scalability
No answers on this topic
Because the Basic licenses are completely free, and because it's very easy to configure and install Zoom, and because anyone can join Zoom from a link without needing an account, scaling is a Breeze. There are absolutely no roadblocks. My company keeps adding more Zoom Pro license every week since it's so in demand. We were able to convert users from several different platforms onto Zoom with no trouble at all.

Return on Investment
  • It gives me back 2-3 hours per week in time saved fussing with typing out long emails.
  • Our team and vendors understand us faster and better when we offer revisions and training using Looms vs. trying to type it out - causing better client satisfaction.
  • We still have to use Snagit, though, until Loom gives us still screenshot edit/markup abilities!

  • We have not lost much productivity in our teamwork during the pandemic because of the ability to have Zoom video calls and keep everyone in touch. This is definitely a positive.
  • We are able to have more people participate in coaching sessions (described earlier) because we don't have room space limitations. This is a big positive.
  • Being able to start a meeting instantly is great when we are doing support and/or training with a client over the phone and need to be able to share a visible
