For us it is important that it is stable. Because of this we thought it is a good idea to buy a clustered station. Barracuda can do this and we bought 2 1050 boxes and linked them. At the end the price was also okay...we also evaluated Symantec and at the end both were …

[The] customer support is quite good. Cost also has another point to add, along with process integration and ease of using new tool.

My company currently uses Hadoop for big data management, as well as ParAccel/Matrix databases for storing the data. The combo is fairly effective, and the only reason we are exploring ILM is because of our use of other Informatica products, and looking to build in either …

For every company which is too big for MailStore. MailStore is much cheaper and easier...so mostly enough for 5 to 20 people companies. But for all bigger companies with 200 plus users it is the right solution. Please be sure, that it is not easy to get it running. But when it runs, it is mostly stable.

To manage users, go to the admin dashboard, here is a section for users. In this users section here you can see which users are configured and you have the ability to suspend a user. If you want to edit or add users, you need to go to the Organization section, then click on another user section there, which then gives you the ability to edit or add users.

  • It's not a major problem, but it's an example of one of many small annoyances.

Usability
The product is good but for this specific product there are often some technical problems. Mostly support in Vienna can solve them soon. The development is very, very slow. I have asked for some changes. They gave the okay to make it with a feature request...but 3 years later there is still no code for my problems. Not even one feature request was done.

Support Rating
The support in Vienna is very, very great. They are fast and can support almost all problems by themselves. Especially Mr. Michael Holzer is a very high specialist and you can ask him almost everything. Just write a mail to emeasupport and you will be sure, that some minutes or hours later you will get a kind and professional call.

Implementation Rating
Think about using offline archives. They make a lot of trouble. Better train your users to use the Outlook Addin Search without using offline archives, which need a lot of power, network and harddrive space. Headers only functionality was promised years ago but is still not implemented.

My company currently uses Hadoop for big data management, as well as ParAccel/Matrix databases for storing the data. The combo is fairly effective, and the only reason we are exploring ILM is because of our use of other Informatica products, and looking to build in either synergies between the technologies, or cost savings by bundling all our licensing through one vendor (Informatica)

Return on Investment
  • Long term archiving is good.
  • Integrating of many PSTs cost extra money for PST Enterprise. This should be included.

  • Tracking the usage of specific brackets of data across the entire organisation has now become possible.
  • The team was already using PowerCenter. Therefore, using ILM was a very apt decision that allowed easier management of data at the organisation level.
