The office has been using BombBomb for a long time and has a lot of templates built. It would take a significant amount of time to convert over for our mass emailing purposes. On an individual level, we enjoy the video messaging option as that is not offered in all mass …
I believe my customer service director looked into a couple of other companies before deciding on BombBomb and I know the Outlook integration was a big deal. I think they really liked how easy the program is to use too.
I primarily compared BombBomb vs these platforms. I ultimately decided to go with a very stripped down version of YesWare as it's tracking provided a few aspects BombBomb did not, but BombBomb's platform was the best versus the other main providers. I think it cost a little bit …
BombBomb is unique. They have perfected the art of video email and saved me hours upon hours of trying to use a similar technique to send the appearance of a video email. Before BombBomb, the process was so technical I did not even try to show other real estate agents. The …
I think a lot of these are similar in many ways. BombBomb stood out because of the moving GIF feature among other things, but the overall idea of using video to cut through the clutter is where the value prop has been for our business so far. Other options have better video …
I have not used any other products like BombBomb. I have used video recording and tried to add it to email and send it out. It is much easier to just use BombBomb. They have done all the hard work. All I have to do is record, talk, and send.
Brightcove is a more affordable option and has a lot of features that are excellent. The only downside is the scalability of the tool, especially as a sales enablement function.
I'm in the process of evaluating other products now as rates for Brightcove were high and I'm not able to find prices immediately when I want to implement it on my projects. I have started to look at Ooyala and DaCast.
I was not part of the decision making for this product, but I heard the decision was based on its ease of use, quick implementation and low maintenance.
Marketing department favors it because EVERYONE uses YouTube. Overall, YouTube offers decent features and functionality. But Brightcove offers the ability to brand and style players, and control what our users see (and so much more) and YouTube does not. For instance, on …
Brightcove is more user-friendly and allows for more opportunity when publishing content.

Chose Brightcove
Brightcove is the only product I have used so unfortunately I cannot compare and contrast to competitors. I still stand very impressed with Brightcove during the time I used it and would reccommend it for anyone.
The decision to migrate from Kyte to Brightcove was made before I came on-board. However, I've worked with both systems and I am extremely happy we went with Brightcove. The user-friendly interface and mobile app. made it a great choice for event and sponsorship streaming.

I've used Ooyala and I do like Brightcove over Ooyala as I feel their read APIs are easier to work with. However, to be fair, I've never used Ooyala's write APIs, which may or may not be better.

I have not used other products that I would consider similar to Brightcove.
We looked hard at Kaltura and thought it was a good product. We were attracted to being able to download a version of the video from the player. In test we had technical questions concerning captions and languages and could not get adequate answers with many attempts. Over time …
BombBomb has helped a lot in our Sales department. Our emails to prospective customers stand out and having the ability to make a personalized video to the person we're trying to establish a relationship with gives us that extra touch.
It works very nicely for our company site because it can easily and seamlessly embed into the site and email HTML pages. It also has picture in picture, sharing, closed captioning (CC) as basic functions. It will also show the time of the video. Because these are short-term-use videos or might get updated frequently and also are just targeting a specific audience, being able to hide or not able to show the number of views or date published (unlike YouTube) actually helps us.
Upload your databases to BombBomb to send single email blasts or campaigns.
Upload your videos to BombBomb or use their software to record videos. Either way, the BombBomb system makes sending video emails easy!
The "Individual Plus" or any higher priced subscriptions to BombBomb software include forms and automation for lead generation and automation of campaigns.
The mobile app for iOS and Android is very useful for sending and responding to BombBomb emails!
Ability to easily output a JSON response for requested video data. This makes it easy to work with Brightcove as partner.
The read APIs are very flexible and can the output can be easily customized using cgi args. This provides great customization of the output and sorting and filtering mechanisms to find the videos you're looking for.
The ability to add captions to videos is good, especially with the regulations requiring video captioning. DFXP support works great as long as the player is given the exact XML format it is looking for.
It took quite some time to upload and organize our video library. The amount of time it would require to relocate all this information outweighs any negative aspect I personally have with the experience. They have been pretty good to work with and from speaking with my Brightcove rep, I know some of the issues I have listed are currently being addressed and tested for future releases.
As said before, the usability is very straightforward and the customization options are good enough to get the job done. There is a mobile app to help with real-time engagement so that is useful too. They offer plenty of training and best practices to make sure you are getting the most out of BombBomb.
Overall it's very easy to use and the video emails stand out. Everything loads quickly and they make it easy to set up. It features CRM-like functionality to view opens, clicks, time watched, etc., but it doesn't port that info over to your existing CRM which is where some of the friction occurs. Still, it's amazing for what it does. I recommend giving it a try for our outreach.
A few times over the years I have asked for features to be added to BombBomb and I am amazed at how fast they can implement. Zapier integration is a perfect example. They implemented the connection to Zapier within 30 days of my feature request. It took a much larger company, Keller Williams Realty over 10 years to implement the same request.
We are notified often of downtime, and I have not heard from a support rep for over a year. It really makes it hard to learn what new things are coming out and how we can take our video to the next level when there is no contact from the team on a regular cadence.
The office has been using BombBomb for a long time and has a lot of templates built. It would take a significant amount of time to convert over for our mass emailing purposes. On an individual level, we enjoy the video messaging option as that is not offered in all mass emailing services.
Marketing department favors it because EVERYONE uses YouTube. Overall, YouTube offers decent features and functionality. But Brightcove offers the ability to brand and style players, and control what our users see (and so much more) and YouTube does not. For instance, on YouTube, users are presented with other videos (which could contain competitor videos).
Overall, I think BombBomb has given us a positive ROI on our email marketing efforts. I don't have numbers to support that claim, but it's more affordable and better positioned for what we needed to do than many other tools out in the marketplace. If you need to differentiate your email, the video component is a great way to go.
