Chose Cisco Catalyst Center
It provide a consistency on the configuration. and you can push configure to all switches. before we managed the switch independently and use prime to push config and we always miss the devices and end up the switch is not have the standard configuration. and Cat Center can …
I think in many ways they are very similar. Cisco Catalyst Center seems more like an evolution of Prime which was already a great solution. Main difference being that Catalyst center is significantly more powerful, with that power though comes complexity and so by extension …
My manager always wants to go with Cisco. He is a die hard Cisco fan and will not look for anything else. I will say that Cisco is revolutionary in the sense that I have not seen Cisco Catalyst Center with any other vendor, so it is unique. It is perfect for us.
We love Cisco ISE. Cisco's new controllers, 9800 controllers. They are awesome. Completely different than the old 5520 and 5508. So new product with Cisco is bringing like 9, 9 93, 3, 600 gig port switches. They're awesome.
Having the capability to have all devices under one umbrella is a great option; routers, switches, firewalls, Cisco Catalyst center, etc. Cisco catalyst center is a great option to optimize all of these, manage and analyze.
Recently evaluated NinjaOne and was very impressed. Have been with the (original) N-able RMM tool for nearly a decade, but considering a switch. NinjaOne's interface is very modern and slick. Lots of great features and integrations.
Solarwinds RMM is designed as a tool for Remote Monitoring. The other guys have their RMM as a platform to sell their other products. With SolarWinds RMM, you don't get hassled to buy another part of the program or put your entire business into their ecosystem. It's a program …
I chose SolarWinds for its easy-to-use HUB, for payments, but also for all technical features which other programs don't show. It's done well with all the releases (agents for mac, windows, and Linux OS).
We only tested an older version of Labtech. By comparison, the newer version of Labtech is much more competitive to Solarwinds RMM than it used to be. Connectwise automate has far better integration options for our PSA than Solarwinds RMM, down to very granular changes for …
SolarWinds definitely is the the most ready out of the box as far as getting is up and running and you can start using it where other system go from need ing a little setup like importing MIBS to completely needing to configure the system. As far a performance once things are …
SolarWinds offers more customization out of the box and allows us to build the monitoring environment to the specifications we require. We are not locked into a specific tool set with no customization options.
SolarWinds provided the easiest entry into the RMM game, requiring a smaller upfront commitment, great tools, and the best early experience with sales reps, engineers, and onboarding.
We moved away from Kaseya to Max Focus, which later became SolarWinds. At the time we were having lots of issues using Kaseya, with failed alerting as well as reporting. SolarWinds (Max Focus) addressed our issues. As a small MSP, the dashboard panel is intuitive, allowing the …
Labtech didn't offer as many tools as SW RMM at the time I was using it. LogMeIn is one of the worst tools I had to use, I got feed-up with the fact that I always had to provide a username and password to connect to a PC. TeamViewer is not quite the product SW RMM is.
It gives you the ability to control your setup without over-complicating things. You have the option to set up in your own environment, whether it's a public cloud or on-premise, or you can use their hosted solution. Some of the other RMMs may not allow the flexibility to do …
Solarwinds RMM is very easy to use and can be managed with very little training. All other RMM tools tested were overly complicated and did not fit our current business needs. We were able to implement this solution to all our customers within 3 months of our start date and …
Solarwinds (at the time Maxfocus) was a better value proposition then the other products evaluated. The low per unit cost and entry point allowed us to gradually add additional features. The installation process was very easy, as is adding new devices. We have very few …
Solarwinds is making a comeback, in that when it was purchased the development was put on hold for what seemed like multiple years, because of that we moved to LabTech (which I feel is superior in many ways). I've heard that Solarwinds is getting better, but still not up to par …
Solarwinds RMM is a superior product to Kaseya, although they are extremely similar. ConnectWise Automate is an extremely powerful software which does a better job of handling scripting and third party application updates. It also provides a few more options when it comes to …
Security with identity-based access control and segmentation via integration with Cisco ISE, supporting zero-trust architectures. Centralized Management for a large campus environment with centralized management of wired and wireless equipment. Automation of tasks like: provisioning, configuration, and software upgrade, reducing manual effort of those tasks. It could be improved to Multi-Vendor Support.
SolarWinds patch management has had issues over the years. Sometimes requiring manual intervention to get resolved. The UI [with N-able RMM (formerly Solarwinds RMM)] makes it easy to see status of systems and identify any alerts easily. Remotely monitoring the status of servers/computers. Managing the systems, patching, systems maintenance and remote support.
I really like the assurance. I like that I can go through and find problems on the network that could be a mismatch VLAN between two interfaces, port errors, like physical errors that we otherwise probably would need to wait for a customer to complain or we have that we can see that ahead of time and be proactive and say, Hey, I'm noticing that this port is having some errors on it. We might want to check that out ahead of time before it becomes an issue. So that's really useful. And then also being able to configure the network. I think that the programmability part of it, I think I have, I've been having some struggle with that initially, just having to apply. So I have my script, my template that I want to deploy, but in order to deploy it, I have to apply it to a template or a profile and then I have to assign that profile to a group of switches that I want to program. I think it gets a little bit messy and a little bit convoluted, but other than that, I mean it's really helpful. It does automate right now, I think it seems a little convoluted with the process.
Thanks to RMM I never feel like I'm unaware as to what's going on in my network. I can be in the office or half a country away and feel completely aware of what's going on.
We've had numerous situations over the years where a part of our network is having issues (latency or errors) that the RMM alerts have saved us from a major outage. You can't ask for better proactive alerting.
The advanced alerting allows us to stay ahead of issues instead of reacting to them. This gives us confidence in our network and our end users better support.
The one thing that we had to get used to was really breaking down our wireless. We integrated our 9800 controllers into it, and the breakdown of our tags being floor specific and not just being campus specific was a challenge for us. And so we had to create all new tags and it wasn't necessarily a problem, it just required a little bit redesign on our wireless. And so it would've been nice for us to be able to assign a tag to an entire campus versus a floor, but that's a small complaint.
I think new products are often "half-baked" or over hyped when they release, as was the case with DNAC. We were well ahead of the curve in acquiring it. But as it has matured it is now a fantastic addition to our infrastructure. I think we are easing into a stage where it is hard to envision a large organization NOT having Catalyst Center in place. If for nothing outside of the mapping and troubleshooting aspects; using it as a "source of truth".
Cisco DNA Center is going to help us in security, simplicity and ease of administration. Cisco DNA Center is complete management and control platform that simplifies and streamlines network operations. Cisco DNA Center offers a single dashboard for every core function in your network. With this platform, IT can become more nimble and respond to changes and challenges faster and more intelligently.
The interface is easy to navigate. Setting up policies is straight forward. The antivirus and web filter are simple and exceptions are easy to make. Upgrading the agent is made simple and creating scripts is made fool proof. (Well, almost)
El soporte de CISCO DNA Center es muy bueno, responden a mis dudas pero no he tenido oportunidad de reportar un incidente o determinar un tiempo de respuesta critico. The support of CISCO DNA Center is very good, they answer my questions, but I have not had the opportunity to report an incident or determine a critical response time.
The ease of use, full functionality, reliability and excellent support.[N-able RMM (formerly Solarwinds RMM)] gives users a full suite of tools with a single installable file. Unlike standard tools, you don't have to install several different executables to be able to have fully protected end points.
It was informative, but the labs were not available long enough for us to get intimately familiar with CCNA before it was closed. The course instructor was well informed and got us as close to ready as she could.
We went with Cisco Catalyst Center, we evaluated, I think it was called Rainbow from Altel, Lucent Enterprise because we were an Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise customer. But since we seeded with Cisco DNA Center and SD Access back in 2019, we haven't been out to evaluate anything which is a direct competitor. There are tools which we are looking to purchase and implement to provide functionality which Cisco Catalyst Center can't, but they're more value add tools, not to necessarily directly drive the capability of our infrastructure.
We only tested an older version of LabTech. By comparison, the newer version of LabTech is much more competitive to Solarwinds RMM than it used to be. ConnectWise Automate has far better integration options for our PSA than Solarwinds RMM, down to very granular changes for automated ticket templates.
I have used it for upgrading devices, and it's does a great job at that, however out operations team for whatever reason has not adopted the feature.
Overall it feels like Cisco Catalyst Center has been huge waste of time. I feel like my time would be better spent on other projects and looking at other products and tools
The SolarWinds name carries a good bit of clout in the industry. This has definitely helped secure a few deals.
The addition of Cloud Backups had a positive impact because we were able to easily add it as a bolt-on for existing clients. We have now added this offering to almost 20% of our managed servers.
We are in the process of moving into a "co-managed" business plan. SolarWinds RMM has facilitated this by allowing us to help in-house IT teams with offloading server management and maintenance while they are able to focus on big-picture objectives.
