Any company which has onsite physical or virtual servers and is moving to the cloud or newer hardware or just creating redundancy needs to invest in a good cloning/replicating software like CloneManager. We have used it once with good results and I personally can recommend it to whoever is managing IT in their company.

  • When you have a hard drive that is physically failing with CHKDSK errors, it will often somehow still clone it and make it work on the new system.
  • It can take a computer's operating system installation and make it work on dissimilar hardware.

Alternatives Considered
CloneManager is targeted at a completely different use case as compared to Veeam Backup & Replication. We used both of these tools individually and at the same time so it works both ways for us. The licensing terms and pricing is always a great aspect for any company looking for tools on a budget.

Google Backup and SYNC required a stable and fast internet connection, and the amount of data we could back up was limited. We use Paragon Hard Disk Manager to back up data to a NAS device - this method does not require an internet connection and the data we can back up is unlimited. Furthermore, we have greater control over our data
