Oracle PeopleSoft ERP
Score 6.9 out of 10
N/A
Oracle's PeopleSoft ERP (or PeopleSoft FSCM) is a software solution used to reduce costs by automating and centralizing global transactional processes and the enterprise entire supply chain. Oracle states they have extended support for PeopleSoft to 2034.
Oracle really lacks the reporting and analytics that we’ve found in Coupa. In Oracle, we had to have a dba on staff in order to field the reporting questions. In Coupa, every user has capabilities of their own to grab the reporting they need this is a huge time saver for us and …
Concur was a lot easier and more user friendly for employees doing expense reports on their phone. That is not the case with Coupa. You must use your laptop to do expenses and our managers don't always have enough time to do that while out in the field working. This has caused …
Coupa is much more robust than Tipalti or Bill.com for tracking invoices. It also allows some customers to order our product via an internal product catalog which is a competitive advantage that Tipalti and Bill.com don't seem to have. However, Bill.com is a lot more user …
Coupa is a relatively mature tool when compared to other options available on the market. Although the implementation takes time & effort - it is truly worth it in the long run. Additionally, Coupa's customer support is really good & prompt. Coupa is definitely a top choice for …
For expenses, expensify has a much better UI and is easier for business users. However for finance teams, I believe Coupa is more organized on the backend.
Coupa is way better then the both of them. Especially Concur, as they pretty much have the same functions. Coupa is just way faster and more updated that Concur, and their Customer Service is way better than Concur.
We used Replicon for many years prior to going with Coupa. Replicon lacked the dynamic approval process we needed for our complex organization. It did not integrate with our HR system and we had to manually add our users. When payments were made, there was no way for our users …
I didn't have any say in picking Coupa but I know our AP team did extensive research with many products and came to the conclusion that Coupa was the best fit for our organization.
We evaluated Ariba, Basware. We chose Coupa for its cost effectiveness, richness of features, functionality and value for money. Coupa customer service is also very good. Coupa is investing time and effort to bring in more features and constantly improving its products. Some of …
Coupa fits within our desire to have best of breed systems delivering value to our organization. We generally work with true cloud providers that are available anytime, anywhere for our mobile workforce. We are pleased that Coupa is in our lineup of service solutions.
Coupa does well compared to its competitors. Coupa has an easy to use interface. It's an all cloud based, SaaS. Reporting in Coupa is also above the competition. Coupa also requires less maintenance, upgrades are automatic and we don't need to worry about being on the latest …
We looked at a number of solutions. Due to retail's high turnover rate I needed a stable tool that was extremely intuitive that store level employees would find easy (and maybe fun) to use. Coupa is so configurable I can set up each store with different spend authorizations to …
PeopleSoft has been a leader for many years, but needs to be refreshed to keep up with similar solutions from Workday and SAP. The visual screens and the user interface of SAP and Workday are much more modern and intuitive compared to the interface and business logic of Oracle …
While Oracle PeopleSoft ERP may seem a bit dated compared to the visually-appealing SAP Concur, the system is more direct and intuitive. Much like a go-to-sweatshirt on a chilly day, PeopleSoft is reliable and easy to navigate, while SAP Concur is more like the shirt that is …
We think that is stacks up favorably, especially when you consider all the customizations we have built, that would need to be rebuilt if we migrated. We know that better and more advanced capabilities exist, but we are happy with what we have and are currently using as of …
We compared PeopleSoft Financials against Oracle and Workday for accounts payable, comparing technical requirements and functional requirements. The other systems were fine, but we optimized our processes and controls to make our use of PeopleSoft Financials more effective. …
We looked at Workday and Oracle Financials Cloud. We don't feel comfortable with those apps yet. We use lease management which is available in Financials but not in other clouds. Also, inventory management billing and order management features were not mature in the cloud. …
It is pretty much in line with PeopleSoft Financials because it gives seamless integration between Financials and HCM. Also, when you have both the softwares on same technology, it is very cost effective.
One of the reason for selecting PeopleSoft Financials and HCM are their …
People Soft Financials is a leader in the industry, really like how all Oracle micro-services integrate well and are easily turned on. Another reason we chose it was that we did not need to do any customization with PeopleSoft Financials or any of the other Oracle cloud …
It was the best product per our review at the time we looked at it. We have been very happy with this and highly recommend it to other healthcare companies in need of help in SCM. After using it we still highly recommend it. You will be happy with it.
PeopleSoft is a straight forward system that allows greater customization and communicates better with the rest of the organization's business tools. Concur is a "newer" system with a better user interface, but has proven to provide an even slower processing speed due to the …
I have used other systems, such as ADP, ECMS, JDE, and SBDEV. I think that PeopleSoft Financials has an advantage over ADP and some of the older payroll systems. PeopleSoft is easy to use for users and allows for you to adjust information to customize for employees. ADP just …
PeopleSoft is much more appropriate for large organizations than the software programs listed here. I'm involved in a project to bring billing and accounts receivable functions out of "shadow systems" like those listed here and into PeopleSoft, and PeopleSoft is more robust, …
PeopleSoft Financials is extremely robust when it comes to a fully featured Enterprise Resource Planning system, allowing our organization to have cross-functional area interaction and communication be completely seamless. For example, the Requisition to Check process (Req to …
Ariba is another option to look at as I understand end user interface is straight forward, given it is configured correctly. It is a SaaS offering with SAP that offers a market place with it's portal. Unfortunately I do not have much detail on Ariba but from what I've heard …
Oracle Peoplesoft Supply Chain Management has the ability to scale up to new industry challenges such as cloud and fusion technologies. Other products do or are exploring these capabilities but time and experience have proven that use of one product and scaling it up on its own …
Suitable: Simple indirect procurement. Low cost; short cycle implementation. Less Suitable: Complex procurement scenario requiring serious vendor collaboration. End-to-end integration. Direct Material Procurement, especially when planning, quality inspection, and other miscellaneous activities are involved, requires handling various special statuses and updates to meet industry- or country-specific requirements.
Well suited for established, large organizations with a large user base and the ability to devote significant resources to design and implementation of a vetted, long-term solution for business processing. Not well suited for very small businesses or businesses whose business processes are changing continuously. Changing PeopleSoft for business process changes/modifications requires significant time and resources due to the design, testing, and implementation tasks involved
PeopleSoft has great development tools to help support the application. The application designer is a robust tool that provides the PeopleSoft Developer a powerful user interface to help support the PeopleSoft Financials application.
PeopleSoft Financials delivers robust financial reporting capabilities. With the use of nVision, queries, BI Publisher, and trees the Finance team can create all their reporting needs in an automated fashion.
PeopleSoft Financials has streamlined interfaces from the subsystems to the General Ledger. There is drill back capabilities from GL to the various subsystems to perform streamlined account reconciliations.
With one particular customer I have had about 40 emails to be accepted as a vendor. With other customers before Coupa became horrendous I had no problems. As an existing Coupa user why do I have to create a new profile?
I have been accepted as a user 3 times then a day later Coupa wants the same form filled again and again.
Help is only on a chat line. You cannot speak to anyone and in my opinion they are not helpful. Their suggstions have gotten me nowhere. They refer me to talk with my customer to straighten out the problem. My cusotmer doesn't have a clue.
I'm considering not to accept purchase orders that require invoicing through Coupa.
Inability to view the results of multiple queries at once in the Query Viewer.
Although there is excellent integration with Oracle's other products, there is an unacceptable amount of support for other third party vendors.
Personalization Feature for a Quick-Access Menu. Due to the abundance of features in PeopleSoft SCM, it sometimes takes a while to find that one option as there are so many others in the same menu. It would be nice for a user to be able to drag and drop some options they use frequently into a Quick-Access menu.
PRISM is a great tool to track and watch numerous financial documents. I would like to see more of an integration platform that would control tracking for specific project details. There is currently only a little section for job notes which I would like to see improve. I think navigation could be improved, but isn't the worst compared to some platforms I have worked with as it provides a tree like structure on the backend which helps synchronize information together for fiscal financials.
-Could be easy or hard to use depending on corporate policies and compliance. At times, errors and cryptical message associated with them could drive users mad.
The usability is very outdated In my opinion. The screens resemble those of Windows 3.1. Too many clicks and drop-downs or clicks to go to a new screen. The business logic also appears dated and requires an update. Overall, it does not have a pleasing User Interface and should be refreshed, or a new interface should be built from the ground up.
-Support is generally speaking OK (not great). The user community is quite active, and the response time is acceptable. I would certainly hope there's more user-generated content (like in SAP, Oracle, and Linux, etc.), but I suppose Coupa is still not large enough, and the incentives are not yet there.
I can't give them a perfect rating because it does often take a long time and usually more [expensive] to resolve trying issues that cannot be solved by our in-house team. PeopleSoft is complicated, and the mix and match of user-created and stock modules cause problems very often. These usually require more customization to completely fix, requiring more money spent with
I recommend that everyone pay special attention to developing a solid testing and training plan if you are even thinking of implementing PeopleSoft. Be ready to obtain good trainers and developers, otherwise, your journey can be unnecessarily painful and much more expensive. Try to stay with an implementation partner who really has your needs at heart, and actually takes the time to understand your organization!
Coupa fits within our desire to have best of breed systems delivering value to our organization. We generally work with true cloud providers that are available anytime, anywhere for our mobile workforce. We are pleased that Coupa is in our lineup of service solutions.
It is pretty much in line with PeopleSoft Financials because it gives seamless integration between Financials and HCM. Also, when you have both the softwares on same technology, it is very cost effective. One of the reason for selecting PeopleSoft Financials and HCM are their capability to customize the business process. We have gone so far that we have built the bolt-on solutions.
The Sourcing Module has returned our investment 23 times on an annualized basis.
We're now SOX compliant and as a public company, that's keeping us compliant with our corporate charter.
Having one central invoicing location has reduced our AP calls significantly. Our suppliers now have visibility into where their invoice is in the payment cycle. We also have a much higher invoice-to-pay cycle.
Positive tracking of ledger information for all areas of the organization. Our organization has multiple business units that require the accurate and complete tracking of transactions and budgetary history going back multiple years, which PeopleSoft Financials has done
Ability to connect with external vendors easily and to export any and all file types and connect to service operations/web services as well as accept and process transactions from external systems has brought a positive impact
PeopleSoft provides the framework to reconcile transactions across the organization and within different business units to provide transparency and transactional history for metrics and data analysis
