Considered Both Products

Chose CrowdCompass
It has been a while since I have used a tool other than CrowdCompass for app builds. However, when I did previously use a variety of tools, I often felt that CrowdCompass had better functionality and integration opportunities than the other tools. Attendee management and …
Chose CrowdCompass
CrowdCompass is for just the app features whereas Cvent Event Management has all the features in one.
Chose CrowdCompass
We did not look to other mobile applications when purchasing CrowdCompass as we were also purchasing Cvent registration. We liked that the two products integrated which meant we only needed to upload data once.
Chose CrowdCompass
We currently use both. Both products are similar in the way we need to use them. The reason for using both is for the two different registration platforms they each are connected with.
Chose CrowdCompass
I have only used CrowdCompass for apps so I don't have much to say on other companies. We did look at DoubleDutch last year but decided to stay with CrowdCompass. And then they bought DoubleDutch so ultimately it was a good decision. There were some good features in DD that …
Chose CrowdCompass
We haven't used any other product like CrowdCompass.

CrowdCompass offers a lot more in terms of networking, sponsorship, and gamification. We also would not have been able to go without printed materials is we had used Sched. The return on investment for using CrowdCompass, even though it was more expensive, made switching to the …
Chose CrowdCompass
DoubleDutch definitely had a more robust social platform. Allowing us to see who liked posts on the activity feed and easier sharing externally. However, CrowdCompass excels in overall look/feel and ability to customize details. The appointment feature has also been critical …

Core-apps is a little buggy and doesn't work super well. We only use it for our Annual Convention because they are the only app vendor that can handle our thousands of sessions and hours of programming that we need to display on the app. Otherwise, CrowdCompass is superior in …
Chose CrowdCompass
I don't recall the platform we used before Crowd Compass—some small startup I believe. I've not reviewed any other platform.
Chose CrowdCompass
We primarily utilize Crowd Compass due to Cvent integration. We are a robust user of Cvent, which makes Crowd Compass very easy to build out and have all the registration information for attendees.
Chose CrowdCompass
There were 2 apps that got an "A" grade, CrowdCompass and Follow Me. CrowdCompass's finance model was more tolerable as a vendor fee than the revenue-share model for Follow Me. All of the others had significant deficiencies by comparison.
At the time, CrowdCompass was one of …
Chose CrowdCompass
We selected CrowdCompass because of the cost, and an effort to ease the legwork on the planning side. We had a registration system prior to CrowdCompass, but it did not offer an onsite app. We used CrowdCompass at an industry event and felt it was perfect for our event.
Chose CrowdCompass
We currently use Cvent Event Management and it works well to use them together or integrate them. I prefer not to use social tables, another Cvent program, because it is often times much more simplified if creating on your own. I think CrowdCompass is a great mix of …
Chose CrowdCompass
CrowdCompass gamification is too static. MeetingPlay allows us to have multiple concurrent tracks with different questions assigned with defined time slots to defined attendees. MeetingPlay allows us to checkbox an agenda item as that item is created to also appear in personal …

Crowdcompass is a pretty solid tool. The integration with Cvent does not require any technical resources, it is literally clicking a few buttons which is a must for us. It has really helped to cut down on the build time by not having to re-create all of the content—really …

Very similar, now that Cvent owns QM as well, im sure they will soon be integrated.

The ability to integrate with CventFlex registration was amazing compared to the lack of that functionality with Eventmobi. The product was intuitive for our attendees and looked sleek and professional. It was great to have the polling functionality within the app and have …

I prefer Splash to Eventbrite because the UI is so much more beautiful. With Splash it's as if you hired a website designer to create a custom landing page for every event. It also has the ability to run virtual events with its integration with Zoom. Event brite's UI is just a …

My current company leverages Marketo, but I do not use it personally.
Chose Splash
I like Splash better than Marketo for registration pages because Marketo doesn't have all the same functionality. They do link to each other which helps but in Marketo we couldn't cap registrations and that for us is a must.
Chose Splash
We appreciated Splash's robust platform and ability to customize to our unique needs. The platform has helped us scale our efforts both internally and within our global networks.

We chose to go with the Splash Event hub rather than the Eventbrite Community because of cost for …

SplashThat is something that Lyft uses exclusively across all markets. We do not have another comparable product. The reason behind this is to create and maintain brand consistency for all of our markets and Driver Communities.
Chose Splash
Splash allows for branding and better communication with attendees.
Chose Splash
We are using Splash Event Marketing because of the design, user flow and insights we can gain that were not as intuitive on other platforms.
Chose Splash
The only other option we have internally is an internal CMS page creation that doesn't allow for any kind of creative freedom. SplashThat lets us use our imagination to create landing pages that fit our branding and event themes.
Chose Splash
Splash was selected due to its user-friendly ease.
Chose Splash
We initially tried out and Cevent and Eventbrite, but these did not come close to the solution we were looking for and found in Splash.
Chose Splash
Eventbrite has a clumsy platform and it doesn't allow the user to create branded event pages or custom designs.
Chose Splash
The only other event platform that I used was Eventbrite. The huge advantage of Splash was its design capabilities. Eventbrite gives a very generic invitation, whereas Splash is much more versatile design-wise.
Chose Splash
Better than the others - didn't like eventbrite, my punchbowl, etc. Would rather stay with them and with something we know. Started with Splash because I knew them, they were affordable, they were responsive, and they seemed to have a strong passion for events and event …
Chose Splash
Better looking invites than Marketo. We still prefer Eventbrite for our larger summits and conferences. Less heavy uplift and administrative tasks on Eventbrite. The UI is easier to use and the analytics and reports are better.
Chose Splash
We selected them because there are very little issues with the system and the templates are amazing.

CrowdCompassSplash Event Marketing Platform

CrowdCompass was the best part of Cvent each time I used it, from the ease of use to the customer service and handholding. I would recommend it for anyone using Cvent Event Management for an in-person event. I know Cvent just rolled out their virtual event hub though, so for virtual and hybrid events that are employing the Cvent family of tools, I would probably say CrowdCompass is unnecessary.

When we first started using Splash Event Marketing Platform, the platform showed great promise and worked well for our team’s needs. However, over the past year, we’ve encountered issue after issue—many of which are described by support as problems “no one else has ever experienced.” Unfortunately, this has happened frequently, making it difficult to trust the platform for consistent execution.

Pros
  • Ease of use for the planner. CrowdCompass is an app that allows our onsite event managers to quickly and easily make changes to the agenda times and locations or send push notifications/alerts to attendees.
  • Ease of use for the attendee. User error is minimal with CrowdCompass. Download instructions are simple and clear. The use of icons within the app makes for a simple user experience.
  • Customer support. Our CrowdCompass support team has been phenomenal! They're always able to assist with any questions or with helping us find new ways to make our experience even more positive.

  • Their support team is very friendly and helpful. They get back to me within a couple of hours and have lots of resources to help remotely.
  • I like being able to check people in on mobile.
  • Their templates make it easy to design something cool. I'm not a trained designer, but using Splash templates lets me create cool invitations that look very well designed.

Cons
  • Event apps are becoming consolidated into one platform app that contains events from all the clients who use it.
  • No branding of your own app with your own name and your attendees having to download a third-party app with events other than just yours available in it.

  • When designing a landing page for an event, the functionality of the layout page is quite finicky. I would love to see the ability to add features to certain text boxes become more fluid.
  • The formatting across the layout page is not always consistent, specifically text sizing.
  • I had an issue with an account, and the support team took an extremely long time (2+ months) to produce a remedy for the issue I was experiencing.

Because easy to interface and easy to manage Splash platform and individual event platform and easy to integrate with third party software such as Adobe Marketo and others softwares. Easy to maintain status and easy to relate with Salesforce campaign through Marketo . Useful in lead capturing and generation and so on we can enable business through splash.

Usability
From the build perspective, its very simple and intuitive. You can either go basic or dig in and provide some interesting features and functions to provide a well-rounded event app experience. From the user perspective, its easy to use and navigate the app, plus the ability to interact and engage is a huge bonus

Once we paid for our apps, I felt like I was left to learn on my own. There are plenty of Help articles available, but no training sessions. I'm a visual learner and having to poke around and use trial and error to build the apps took way too much valuable time away from other parts of my job. It was frustrating and I brought it up with my CrowdCompass contact, but was told that they don't provide any training sessions and if I had questions I should refer to the Help articles or call support.

We love working with our account manager and priority support to answer questions efficiently and speedily. Our account manager works with us on larger and bigger picture initiatives for our instance, where the priority support is always there when you're stuck with a feature or setup, it's been great to share this resource with our global network of hosts internal and external to the company.

CrowdCompass is the only mobile app that we have used or looked at. They are on the pricey side, but their integration with Cvent makes the cost worth it. With any other mobile app, we would have to either re-enter the event details or pay to have a custom API created

We used to use Eventbrite to manage our events before we were switched into using Splash. It was much easier to use, had a consistent usability structure for creating events and getting users to sign up. While it wasn't as customizable in terms of the landing page or email design, it did the job without any issues. We didn't necessarily select to use Splash, but our event coordinators at Hubspot chose the platform for us! If we could go back, we would.

Return on Investment
  • It's had a positive impact financially because it integrates with Cvent.
  • It's a much quicker process to build and design, saving staff hours of work.
  • Unlike our old app system, we have more control over the content of this app. We can make our own edits and additions without depending on external people to make those for us.

  • Positive: We've now been able to track whether people who attend our events eventually become donors to our organization, which is HUGE for measuring event ROI and the time horizons for a donation.
  • Negative: Can't think of any negative impacts on our business objectives. It solves the problem it is designed for, and continues to improve.
