HYCU is a SaaS Data Protection platform that delivers SaaS-based data backup, recovery, and ransomware protection for on-prem, cloud, and SaaS environments serving vendors globally.
We also use Barracuda Backup to backup Office 365 for some of our clients who also use Barracuda Email security products. Each product is a tool, and it is necessary to understand each client's needs before determining which product is best for them. Having said that, …
SaaS Protection from Datto is simple to configure and utilize. The automatic reports that I receive is what I enjoy most about the service. It's a breeze to keep track of all of my clients. In the event of a ransomware attack, the data is backed up and may be accessed again.
This fits Nutanix better than anything I have found. HYCU clearly focuses on personalized service. You can email, call or open a web ticketed, depending on your urgency.
I have used several backup programs, I selected 2 just to be brief. The best thing I see with HYCU over Veeam is that it is much more difficult for an attacker if inside the network to gain access to the backups and objects saved in the backup storage. The best part about HYCU …
We moved from VMware w/ Veeam to Hyper-V w/ Microsoft Data Protection Manager. Each backup solution worked well for its respective workload. We made the jump to AHV on Nutanix. MSFT DPM wasn’t compatible and HYCU was a better value than Veeam.
In our experience and use of the SaaS service, it met all requirements we had. It worked really well in every single scenario that we used it for. Our company would work exclusively with Microsoft o365 so I can't speak for the Gsuite tooling. The one place I would have liked to see a bit of a facelift would be how it broke out the charge by users.
It’s well suited for Nutanix AHV data protection and includes the ability for immutable backups via WORM policy. I’m unsure of its performance in environments that use Hyper-V OR VMware for virtualization. The use of tiered backups without additional policies are great when creating new VMs, even automatically assigning a default backup policy to ensure that all workloads have at least a minimal level of data protection
Very simple interface. Can learn it in a day. The instances where I needed a little hand holding, I just called support and they assisted immediately. That's the best of both worlds.
I have had several requests, and issues with the rollout and deployment of HYCU in our production environment. The HYCU team of support and developers have met each issue with importance and some kind of resolution or explanation of help. They have been so supportive even in the not so easy ones. That says something for their product and team behind it.
We also use Barracuda Backup to backup Office 365 for some of our clients who also use Barracuda Email security products. Each product is a tool, and it is necessary to understand each client's needs before determining which product is best for them. Having said that, Barracuda Backup and Datto SaaS are the two best products in my opinion.
I have used several backup programs, I selected 2 just to be brief. The best thing I see with HYCU over Veeam is that it is much more difficult for an attacker if inside the network to gain access to the backups and objects saved in the backup storage. The best part about HYCU over Bacula is that it is much easier to use and more stable. The interface alone will save you from time and energy using other products
The Datto SaaS protection is exactly what we were looking for to enable my clients back up their cloud data (M365, OneDrive, Teams, etc.).
All Datto options are designed such that minimum daily engagement with the product is necessary to still be able to easily pick up and leave, as is the case with this one.
In addition to its ease of use and low cost relative to its high value, we appreciate how affordable it is for us as well as our clients. I highly recommend it.
