If you are a small business and you need a solution that is relatively easy to use and configure, then Dell EMC RecoverPoint is ok. The downside was that I found the cost to be high and was unable to negotiate a good licensing deal. Within a year I had to find a difference software vendor to meet my needs.

IBM InfoSphere Data Replication replication allows work on the daily operation and analyzes the replicated data in real-time with no downgrade of performance. This happens thanks to the incremental data load using the log files instead of querying the database for any changes. It serves as an online backup of the database uploading the data to the cloud in real-time.

  • Recoverpoint allowed the Business to have DR capabilities across a multitude of EMC arrays. It allowed the centralization of VM's to be protected across environments both locally as well as remotely.
  • Recoverpoint can bring RTO down to minutes and can keep RPOs down to quickly restorable levels as well.
