DISA Global Solutions has great customer service response times and their representatives are knowledgeable. We did have a special case where the candidate had a couple of names and the Social Security Administration was not able to confirm his Social Security Number. It took DISA Global Solutions a couple of attempts to get this completed, but the representative was communicative and knowledgeable.

GoodHire is well suited for those who need to run quick background checks and want the results neatly laid out and summarized. It's good for running one-off background checks, and having the ability to cancel/update them as you see fit. It's perfect if you want to connect it to your HRIS system as well.
It's not ideal for those who need to run a large amount of background checks at one time.

Cons
  • The all reports screen, it would be useful to have them sorted by most recent at top automatically.
  • The Form SSA-89 instructions should be clear that it must be hand-signed and electronic signatures are not allowed.
  • The SSN Address Trace should be communicated more often to the company that it isn't being completed. Sometimes the pre-employment screening is pending for a couple of days when this is the only step missing because the candidate is not answering/responding. We need these candidates to start quickly and the few days the report is pending can affect us.

  • I would prefer that you enter the employee or person's information first and then be taken to the area where you "pay".
  • If the SSN isn't a match it would be nice to have the opportunity to re-check or update the information vs having to pay for a new BC all over again.

Usability
DISA Global Solutions platform is user-friendly on the candidate and company sides. There can be improvement on the All Reports screen where the reports are listed by date with the most recent at top. Also, the pending pre-employment reports that are waiting on the signed Background Consent form and the Form SSA-89 take a few clicks to get to. There should be an easier way to see the pending pre-employment screens that are awaiting forms.

Alternatives Considered
DISA Global Solutions has the fastest turnaround time and customer service compared to Checkr and HireRight. DISA Global Solutions has customizable options in creating packages specific to certain roles and management levels. The users don't have any issues when filling out their portions of the pre-employment screenings with DISA Global Solutions. As a company representative, DISA Global Solutions is overall the easiest platform to use, customize and is responsive.

Because GoodHire and BambooHR, our HRIS, are integrated, I can request a background check without having to log out of what I am doing, and Bamboo is updated as the findings are received. It increases productivity. The time it took to upload new candidates was the key issue that the integration is resolving.

Return on Investment
  • DISA Global Solutions has had a positive return on investment on our business as it's mainly quick process. It takes an average of 4 days before we get the completed pre-employment report.
  • We do have a few cases were it takes longer than 4 days, but that is due to pre-employment drug screenings and the lab delays.

  • There has not been anything I have disliked so far. It is a great thing to use.
  • The ongoing alerts have been a positive thing to be able to rely on.
  • It has been positive that we can order background checks and get the results quickly. Generally in about 3 days. You get to build your own specific background check you would like and choose from various things.
