Each of the tools I have described share the same kind of premise: the main thing they do is source and collect media content. Then to varying degrees they run filters against this content and produce a range of data visualisations and ways of slicing the data and content. …
I have used Lexis Nexus and Thomson One. I find Factiva to be the most user friendly of these services. I much prefer Factiva's layout on their website when I search for articles and I also prefer its search builder over Lexis Nexus and Thomson One.
At the time, Factiva was already being used by the company I worked for - they had developed procedures specifically for using Factiva, so there wasn't really an option. I've used Lexis, Westlaw and Bloomberg exclusively for legal research, so there wasn't really an overlap …
NetBase is exactly what we needed and were looking for. Perhaps down the road we may require a much more enterprise-level platform, but for the past 3+ years, NetBase provides us with exactly what it is we need.
I did not get a chance to truly get involved with Sprinklr as I did with Netbase. However, I spent enough time to realize that the two serve very different purposes. Where Netbase is great for tracking and discovery, Sprinklr has its advantage with Media organization and …
Netbase is our chosen tool for a number of reasons including NLP capabilities, functionality, depth of data available, constantly evolving features and easy to use interface. We also found our reps to be extremely helpful, knowledgeable and have our best interests at heart.
The customer service is AMAZING compared to other providers! It also offers unlimited topics and mentions, which was not offered by some other providers. Overall, I think NetBase is by far one of the most intuitive and exemplary solutions for social media listening.
Far and away superior to the others. I selected NetBase for their NLP capabilities, reporting tools, ease of use and most importantly the team/people at NetBase.
All are good for seeing the posts but it's the features of the applications that set them apart. Netbase goes above and beyond the others, I feel, for allowing you to do what you need and thoroughly analysis the social content.
Along with NetBase, we use New Media Measure as another useful analytic tool. New Media Measure is good because it's more specific as far as including social media platforms go. New Media Measure is better for pulling data but it's not used really for sentiment analysis or …
NetBase provides a higher degree of accuracy and more flexibility to control the analysis (filtering, etc) in the platform. The platform is also very user-friendly and doesn't have a steep learning curve. The NLP is powerful and provides deeper insights into sentiment, …
These two product offerings are similar and both are advantageous to use. Unfortunately, I have limited experience using Adobe Social so I can't attest to the full functionality of this platform. That being said, I prefer the design and layout to NetBase, but I would like the …

In my opinion, NetBase is a superior product to the competitive products that we have either used or evaluated. NetBase has better features, better data, and great support.
We liked it's features better than the competition and the costs were also lower and more inline with our budget. Their sales team was responsive prior to our selecting the application and their post-sales engagement has also been very good. They haven't disappeared.
I use the product, but I did not research other similar products. I have not had experience with other programs, but my experience with NetBase has been very good.
The only other system we would consider would be Radian6. The reason NetBase won our business is because Radian6 has not updated its software as frequently as NetBase.

Netbase has better NLP capabilities, as well as custom dashboards and more languages/global coverage compared to Sysomos.
Factiva is particularly useful when I work on securities litigations involving shareholder lawsuits -- i.e. shareholders who bought and sold shares during a specified class period when the company was misrepresenting, for example, its financials. Specifically Factiva is quite useful in helping me understand what company events were known by the market and when they were known. Factiva has also been useful in helping me on various research studies. It is less relevant for other types of litigation that I work on (i.e. Patent litigation, etc).
In my use of [NetBase] Quid, I found the tool particularly suitable for curating pertinent content. It allowed me to develop more comprehensive analysis at a larger scale, all while substantially reducing the amount of research time needed. It is also a plus that [NetBase] Quid is delivered as a web app. I did some of my [NetBase] Quid work on a low-end Chromebook without issues.
Natural Language Processing: If the point of social media analysis is to understand large volumes of text that you can't read yourself, then the automated analysis is key to this. Netbase is the best that we have seen in the market, and this is the cornerstone of the product for us.
Dashboard design: Past tools we have used have involved pulling data from the tool, analysing and charting in (typically) Excel, then putting together into a Powerpoint presentation to share with clients & colleagues. Netbase's dashboard tools enable reports to be templated and generated as PDFs. Cutting out large chunks of manual administrative work means that more reports can be delivered more frequently with no added time/cost at our and.
Customer support - although we are UK-based and the Netbase support staff are primarily US-based, we have found their support staff to be fast, responsive and very helpful.
We've had a good experience using the tool and have invested quite a bit of time training the internal team on how to get the most benefit out of it. There would need to be a compelling reason or business case to port over all of our existing topics and tool know-how to another platform.
Very simple to use, quick to pick up on the key principles, and a task-centric design (ie. Topics to set up what you want to analyze, Analysis to do the exploration/analysis, and Dashboards to pull results and findings together to generate reports.) All intuitive, drag & drop etc.
NetBase constantly updates the platform with features. The platforms ability to analyze complex social listening topics is exceptional. Its fast and gives you the ability to create standardized reports for a quick topic analysis. Additionally, the standard overview tab provides the topic at a glance and assists in quickly identifying areas to further analyze. Great product with excellent support behind it!
We had an internal implementation meeting with the NetBase team as well as a business seat implementation for one of our clients. I would highly recommend having all stakeholders attend an implementation meeting as they can understand the power of this platform.
Each of the tools I have described share the same kind of premise: the main thing they do is source and collect media content. Then to varying degrees they run filters against this content and produce a range of data visualisations and ways of slicing the data and content. Factiva's strength lies more in the sourcing of content than in the manipulation of the results (much like the others do with more sophisticated dashboards and visual interpretations). We chose it because of the integrity of its sourcing breadth. It doesn't matter so much about the display of results because the source material you're working with isn't as dynamic as say social media.
NetBase provides a higher degree of accuracy and more flexibility to control the analysis (filtering, etc) in the platform. The platform is also very user-friendly and doesn't have a steep learning curve. The NLP is powerful and provides deeper insights into sentiment, behaviors and opinions compared to other platforms that are very topical and less user-friendly.
Positive - NetBase allows us to quickly gather a high level over view of a topic, which helps for new business pitch and being able to inform the account teams of basic information.
Negative - We have to use other tools to gather news, which affects our budget.
