Considered Both Products
Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Handshake and Untapped both have their pros and cons. The campaign features in Handshake are really unparalleled and allow you to reach a relevant and diverse set of students quickly and efficiently. Untapped has the ability to go through the profiles of individual students to …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
SO much better than Symplicity. Compared to other platforms for university/school recruiting efforts, Handshake is unmatchable and has been the best option out of all systems.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
I have nothing to compare. But so far Handshake leads any other pack out there.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
I like Handshake Talent Engagement Suite much better than this platform as it is much easier to identify talent and find exactly what we are looking for to use as a repository for what we need and the time we need it in. We selected this because we needed to make new hires …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
I think Handshake is similar to LinkedIn Recruiter in a lot of ways. The main differentiator for me/our company is who we are trying to reach or target. LinkedIn is not an easy platform to find early careers talent on, so Handshake has been the best way for us to connect with …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
In terms of overall application experience, I think the other companies do a better job with richer features. Where Handshake shines, however, is in how it 1. is mainly focused on new grads and internships, making filtering less necessary, and 2. its suite of other features …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Handshake Talent Engagement Suite is similar to indeed in the ease of communication, but we prefer to use Indeed in our organization because the connection with a school can be declined. Some of our recruitment team members have experienced a long delay of making connections …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Handshake provides direct to university connection for professional recruiting. It is better then indeed for direct to university candidate searches.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Our company uses HireEZ and LinkedIn Recruiter as well, but Handshake Talent Engagement Suite makes the most sense for our University Relations team due to the focus on college students and recent grads. HireEZ is the opposite and isn't very effective at targeting college …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
I have only used Handshake as I am new to recruiting.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
We use ADP Recruitment function with our account. It works for posting on job sites outside of school and universities but doesn't hit those though its channels. I have to use Handshake in order to achieve my needs.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
We have used other sites to help with our recruiting needs, such as Indeed, LinkedIn and Craigslist. I would say Handshake and Indeed are at the top of our go-to list open positions.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Schools used to use Symplicity as opposed to Handshake but for every school you had to make a new username and password for every one. This gives you one login where you can post to many. It makes it much easier and is a huge time saver.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
I am not aware of the competitors to Handshake. However, Handshake is so awful that I think I might even write my own Web application that does what Handshake can do and do it better. In fact, I think that I made a "Bob Board" application back in the 1990's and it did just fine.
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Lever is more of an ATS, while Handshake is a candidate database. It is also essential to be using good ATS when you have Handshake. You can organize your candidates and not forget about any of them. I do wish that Lever and Handshake worked together so that I can automatically …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
Outside of personal relationships and Facebook groups, I use Handshake as well as Internships.com to find interns. While I sometimes like the easier format of Internships.com, I don't like the fact that I can't target schools. It's worldwide, so I rarely get the candidates I'm …
Chose Handshake Talent Engagement Suite
We have not found a comparable product to Handshake. It is one-of-a-kind in a league of its own.
Indeed.com
Chose Indeed.com
We use Indeed for the maximum amount of time for job postings since it does its job best. The sourcing of resumes using various filter processes is unique. We can communicate with candidate interns without revealing our originality.
Chose Indeed.com
This is the best portal in terms of value for money and ease of use. All the above portals requires more time to get the resume but Indeed.com make the job much easier. This portals is specifically for the niche roles
Chose Indeed.com
When compared to the dice portals, Indeed.com is more cost and work effective. Most of the candidate details were not available in the dice where as Indeed.com has the more detail about the candidates and give more insight.
Chose Indeed.com
Selected Indeed.com because job seekers use it heavily since it is simple to post their profile and less information is required of them. Downside is less information is available to the employer/ recruiter so job seekers will get more relevant responses on other sites where …
Chose Indeed.com
Ziprecruiter costs more money but you do seem to get a better quality of resume. Although even with ZipRecruiter we didn't necessarily always fill the position with the resumes we received. Given the choice I would prefer free rather then paying if I am not going to get a …
Chose Indeed.com
We use both in tandem. We get the applicants from Indeed, then screen and send them to myInterview
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed stacks up against these organizations because all 4 are available to find matching jobs near you. I have used all these webs and can sincerely say that Indeed is the BEST one because to does not sugar quote and does not make you doubt anything about the listed job. …
Chose Indeed.com
Each one has its positives and negatives. If you are a job seeker the site to use would be Indeed.com because they list a lot of jobs. If you are an employer just use the job posting features instead of the resume search.
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed is good; yet Dice is a good alternative for our Technical, Engineer, Web, Cloud and IT Secruity positions!
Chose Indeed.com
I love it because it is a competitive program for management and recruiting. It has allowed us to study CV's, follow up and select people that we feel can fill the vacancy for our positions. It's great.
Chose Indeed.com
[Indeed.com] brings in far more candidates that are also more qualified for the positions we have available. Indeed is also the most affordable and user friendly.
Chose Indeed.com
We used and are still currently using other job boards. Some are free of charge, some are paid services. We do not want to stop using Indeed.com since it provides up with ability to post job postings for free. This is really appreciated. We do not want to disclose names of …
Chose Indeed.com
Job Advertising effectiveness (taking into account ROI on cost/hire) Indeed ranks #1 and has for years based on my data
LinkedIn is stronger for outbound sourcing/recruiting
The ability to add filters/questions to your posted roles is better than other sites by far
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed has great reach and so many applicants are aware of Indeed to use as a job search engine. You will certainly get the most action on your job posting when you post it on Indeed. A job posted and promoted on Indeed will yield hundreds of applicants vs. other job posting …
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed.com seems to be more simplistic than some of the other mature job listing sites and we like this ease of use factor. When it's time to list a job we do not want HR dreading a complex setup that other sites seems to have. It should be almost as easy as sending an email …
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed.com is a great job posting tool, that has surpassed and met our expectations. One of my favorite features is that as soon as we have posted our jobs and responded to candidates, you get see more resumes matching or similar candidates. The number of responses would be …
Chose Indeed.com
LinkedIn is more of a professional networking site and what people see are based on their existing connections. Thus, I believe LinkedIn is better for tapping into job applicants that are similar to your experience level, education, and demographics. [Indeed.com] is a general …
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed.com has more free features.
Chose Indeed.com
Indeed.com is the largest job board and has a lot of job seekers. It is easy to create a job posting and the process is very straight forward and simple to make the listing. Indeed.com makes job hunting easy with geo location options and an easy to navigate interface. Users can …
Chose Indeed.com
ZipRecruiter is current. Monster.com and CareerBuilder.com were used in the past. As far as amount of applicant flow, Indeed.com is head and shoulders above the others. We get a lot of applicants that are not qualified at all, but that happens with any job board.
Chose Indeed.com
LinkedIn and Zip recruiter. Zip recruiter provided me with a lot of candidates from out of state when remote was not an option for our organization, which caused me to waste a lot of time. Perhaps it was something I missed when posting the job. LinkedIn didn't result in …
Chose Indeed.com
ZipRecruiter I think is better at finding fit, but the volume of applicants is totally different and a lot of the time we end up going with people that use indeed just because more people are looking for jobs on it because that is where the most opportunities are.
Chose Indeed.com
I prefer [Indeed.com] over Facebook because I get to filter all resumes before contacting contact workers. It’s also easier to find clients as the job description tells me what the client is looking for over Facebook where we have to exchange messages back and forth to figure …

Compared to bulk messaging students who are listed as 'matches' on the job listing page, the segments & campaigns I created were so helpful in identifying leads & helping to convert those leads to applicants without me having to continually follow-up with students (thank you- follow-up email feature!) For roles that require a lot of applicant flow, or for positions that require a large cohort of hires at one time, these features are perfect.

[Indeed.com] is a very helpful tool for recruitment. Just about every posting receives several candidates. Whenever the candidate pool is unqualified, it is easy to add more requirements or questions to knock those candidates out. There are several options to describe what kind of job you are advertising for. It is my favorite recruitment website.

Pros
  • Connects us with our target audience (current college students and recent graduates).
  • Connects us with a variety of career services offices, building trust in our organization.
  • It provides capacity to our recruiters while also allowing us to balance volume and personalization in recruitment.

  • The best free job advertising platform out there that is easy to use and integrates with our ATS Greenhouse
  • ATS (Greenhouse) automatically posts every job to Indeed and requires zero effort
  • Formatting of the the jobs from my ATS look good when "pulled" over to Indeed
  • Able to integrate questions with rules that allow you to shortlist candidates in a more timely fashion
  • Sponsoring portal has change a couple times. I do not love the new format as of 5/2021 but it is not bad.
  • They allow you to use a credit card for sponsoring which linkedin will not
  • Sponsoring criteria is good and has many options

Cons
  • I would love if there were a better way to filter by experience. Currently, it's based on graduation date but a lot of my talent segments pick up people with 10+ years of experience that recently started or completed another degree. This is frustrating for the candidate who receives a bunch of misplaced messages and for recruiters who have to explain why they received a message about an internship they are clearly overqualified for. Can we separate grad year from years of experience in the segmentation somehow?
  • I wish there were an easier way to "blacklist" candidates who were rude or expressed a sentiment of never wanting to hear from me or my company again. These are people that I don't want to accidentally include in a campaign message 6 months later.

  • A lot of the same applicants apply over and over to the same job postings despite being rejected due to being unqualified for the position. This is particularly a problem when doing large-scale hires in one specific location.
  • Indeed has poor filtering and search capabilities for employers. As an employer on Indeed you deal with huge QUANTITY of applicants - which can be great but when looking for specific skillsets, it can be difficult to find the right applicants in such a large pool. For executive level positions, Indeed is not my preferred job positing site.

Becca always responds very quickly to my questions. We had an issue where I couldn't register for a fair because another division of my company had already registered and this problem was fixed the next day. I feel like the team at Handshake Talent Engagement Suite actually cares about my experience. Not all companies do once the contract is signed! They definitely treat their customers well. I literally feel like I am their only customer.

I haven't had to use Customer Service much for Indeed.com but the few times I've had encounters they have been very nice and helpful. They ensure you are getting the most out of your money with the resources Indeed has to offer. You can speak to customer service over the phone or on a quick messenger setting on the website depending on what your style is or how easy you feel your question is.

Handshake and Untapped both have their pros and cons. The campaign features in Handshake are really unparalleled and allow you to reach a relevant and diverse set of students quickly and efficiently. Untapped has the ability to go through the profiles of individual students to really source specific people (which Handshake doesn't allow), but the filtering features needed work and it was tougher to reach a lot of students at once.

Selected Indeed.com because job seekers use it heavily since it is simple to post their profile and less information is required of them. Downside is less information is available to the employer/ recruiter so job seekers will get more relevant responses on other sites where all their information is considered before they are reach out to by employers. Other job sites are more costly but yield a better outcome for both job seeker and employer/ recruiter.

Return on Investment
  • Handshake has definitely positively impacted our business objectives. Handshake pulled some data for us and we found out that 39% of our hired interns & new grads thus far followed up with us, received a message, or RSVP'd to an event on Handshake so far this year.

  • The largest positive impact Indeed.com has had is allowing our one person HR Department to have access to such a wide array of candidates.
  • The ability to post job listings and not have a cost involved is an important reason we use Indeed.com.
  • Even if we do not bring a candidate in for an interview, having our listings on the web helps to spread our name a bit and show that we are hiring.
